Fight! Ayari.
After hearing those words, I can feel the surge of power running throughout my body. The men were hit by the shockwave and were blown away. I picked up the Night's fall and the energy felt even greater than earlier.
A sigil that was shaped like a crescent moon appeared on my forehead. Aside from that, the tattoo on my arm even grew bigger expanding throughout my entire upper body. Different symbols were inscribed on my body that looked like ancient texts.
The men that attacked me stood up. They were surprised by the situation right now. Some were shaking their heads in confusion.
"How dare you Ayari!" The leader shouted.
"Why do you hate me so much, I did not do anything to you." I said.
"You did not but the fact that you were born with no powers, it's disgusting." The leader said.
"That kind of attitude does not to be tolerated. The fact that you are using this as a basis to decide on someone's life. You are the disgusting one." I shouted at them.
"I hate you Ayari! I will kill you now." The leader shouted angrily.
As soon as he said that, the other men gathered around me. They started chanting an inaudible spell. Roots from the underground emerged and wrapped my body.
I can't move my body.
The leader continued chanting while I was trying to break free from their spell. After a minute, the sky grew dark and rain clouds started to form. Thunder rumbled.
I need to get out of here.
The voice I heard spoke to me again.
"Listen carefully Ayari. You need to repeat everything that I say. This will save you from them."
I listened to the voice and followed her instructions.
The sky rumbled louder. I have to this and show them what I can do. I closed my eyes and uttered the incantation full of determination.
"Gather, oh river of light guided by the souls. Illuminate to banish away the darkness. Let them bathe in your silver light. Moonlight's Decree!"
After saying those words, the sky cleared and removed those rain clouds. But the sky remained dark. The guys were surprised by what happened. It seemed that their spell was canceled. The vines that covered me returned to the ground. Little by little, my body floated mid-air. Then the color of my eyes changes to a brilliant silver with a hint of blue.
I raised the Night's Fall and an Aurora appeared in the sky illuminating the area. I can see the faces of those people who bullied me. Some of them were already cowering in fear and started to flee.
I hope this will teach them a lesson.
I pointed the cutlass towards them. A large magic circle appeared in the sky and the light from the aurora gathered. After that, torrents of light started to fall from the sky.
The bullies scattered and tried to escape, their leader running as fast as he can. It was too late for them. As soon as they were hit by the rampage of light, their body was enclosed in ice. All of them were frozen.
After that, the sky cleared and went back to normal. I heard the voice again.
"Good job, Ayari. I was right in choosing you."
"Please tell me who you are!" I said.
No response.
After that, fatigue struck my body. It felt like all of my energy was drained. I was losing consciousness and my body was heading down. I forgot that I was mid-air.
"Big brother Ayari!" Anan shouted.
I heard his voice running in my direction. He was trying to catch me. I closed my eyes knowing that he will make it time.
"Big brother Ayari! Wake up!" Anan said.
I tried to open my eyes, but instead of Anan, I saw a different person carrying me. The guy was wearing a hood and he was wearing some sort of mask. I looked at his face and saw his eyes. The colors of his eyes were very pretty. The shade of the sun.
Before fully losing my consciousness, I heard him saying something.
"Amusing, chosen by the moon."
A few hours later, I woke up with the familiar scent of Lily of the valley. Ester must have replaced the flowers again.
I sat down and saw that Ester and Anan were talking near the door of my room. I can't hear what they were talking about but it feels like they were discussing what happened earlier.
Both of them looked in my direction. Ester ran towards me with a worried look.
"You should have let me go with you, big brother." Ester said.
"It's okay, Ester. Look I am fine. I am sorry if I made you worried." I said.
"I heard from Anan what happened earlier at the riverbanks. At first, I did not believe what he said, but I saw the magic circle in the sky too." Ester said.
"Did I go overboard?" I asked.
I looked at them and both of their expression says yes.
"Don't worry. They are fine. It's just they might take some time to recover their mana." Anan answered.
"Mana?" I asked with a puzzled expression.
"Yes, the spell you cast drained their mana pool leaving only a certain percent. If the other villagers did not arrive on time. They might have lost their abilities." Anan explained.
What a scary spell.
Ester and Anan continued to bombard me with questions. They keep asking me if how did I generate such a large incantation. I told them what happened exactly. I explained every detail. I told them about the book that I found and about Night's fall. About the voice that I heard during the time I was in danger. The one that guided me to cast that incantation was the voice.
Anan said that it might be Mayari herself that guided me when I was in a pinch. I agree with him, but I can't tell them that I am an outlander. That I replaced the real Ayari.
They also checked if I can still cast any sort of spell. I tried concentrating and to my surprise, the sigil appeared again on my forehead. Ester and Anan were amazed.
Before they went out of my room, I called Anan again. I almost forgot about the hooded guy who caught me from the fall.
"Anan, do you perhaps know the person who carried me back here?" I asked.
Anan was surprised by the question. It felt like he was trying to avoid the topic.
"I don't know him, big brother. Please don't try to look for him to say your thanks." Anan said.
"Why?"
Anan was avoiding eye contact.
"Because he was from the land of the sun." Anan answered.
Land of the sun?
