The Angry Alpha's Mate

Chapter 11

*Alex*

I woke and untangling myself from Savannah's body put the coffee on and went to shower. After showering I went and sat on the balcony with a cup of coffee to watch the sunrise while contemplating everything. The past day had been full of Savannah and her delactable body. However today her father was heading back to his pride. The rest of the Kings and Alphas would also be leaving back to their territories and we would be meeting back up in two weeks for the coronation. Gabby was already hard at work getting everything arranged. However we would have alot more people here during the coronation so me and Thomas needed to go over guard patrols which before everyone left after lunch we would have a pretty structured layout in. We also needed to find out more about this so called Government that had attacked us and what creature had seemingly splattered one packs unmated, their Alpha and Beta and severely damaged another pack. Thomas had spoken to one of the others of the injured pack and his description was a tiger headed wolf with eagle wings and dragon like claws thats body reflected seemingly all damage that had been dealt. The guards who they hired to protect their high ranking members armour piercing rounds seemed to have no affect on it. It was also stronger than the werewolves and could crunch through the cars motor like it was warm butter. We needed to research this weird creature more. We needed to protect all our allies and their packs. I now had more questions for the eagle wolf that had found a mate in Adalberns daughter Lyanna. I will bring him to this meeting so we can get as many different scenerios as possible before the coronation.

I hear moving inside and turn to see a nude body walk to the bathroom. A moment later I hear the shower start. I get up to refill my coffee and set a cup out for Savannah to use when she got done with her shower. I'm starting to sit down when I notice a flash of lighting in the otherwise starry daybreak. As I strain to hear the thunder I see a black shape zoom through the sky followed by another flash of lighting. A few moments later a purple flash of fire lights up the dark shape and I see Beithir's and Saphira's dragons battling it out. I knew that the dragons had secret powers but purple fire was supposed to be some of their strongest power and the gold dragon was able to use it very well. I wondered how old Saphira was when she first accessed it. Surpisingly the battle seem to grow more intense as the ebony dragon let out a burst of lighting that was black instead of blue or yellow like he had been spouting. The gold dragon didn't even seem fazed as an orb of power kept it at bay and she retaliated with black fire. The ebony dragon blew sparks into the sky like stars falling up and the fighting stopped. Both dragons glided back towards the manor. They glided over the roof towards the other side and disappeared.

"Wow that was amazing! I'd heard about dragons being able to use their parents powers to strenthen their own but this is my first time seeing it in person." Savannah's voice came from the door and I wondered how much of their battle she had seen. "That was a pretty spectacular display of power wasn't it." I respond standing up to embrace my kitten. I wrap my arms around her and a purr radiates from her. "Dad leaves today." She whispered in my ear. It sounded sad. I pull away so I can see her face," Are you gonna miss your dad? He and your mom and siblings will be back in two weeks for our coronation and if you want we can ask them to stay. Their pride runs adjacent to ours. It only takes a while to get here do to the roads going over mountainess terrain. I remember when I visited your pack with my dad our drive was hours even though its just a forty five minute flight between airports. However I remembered your dad admitting he was afraid of planes so thats why he always drove the long stretch of highway to get here." She looks down and says," Ya, I'm gonna miss him but knowing he is such a short plane flight away makes me feel a little better." Pulling her closer I ask her if she was ready for breakfast with her dad. Gabby says he usually frequents the dining hall around 8. We could go down for their last meal together for a couple weeks. She nods and we head downstairs.

As we get to the dining hall for breakfast a loud chatter can be heard. We can also smell a range of different breakfast foods. As we walk through the doors we see the table is filled with food from an assortment of scones and muffins, bacon, sausage, ham and even fried pork chops. In the center dotted across the table is bowls of fresh fruits and even platters of fresh diced fruit such as pineapples and cantaloupes. There was even biscuits and eggs scattered around with jams, jellies and butter for lathering to our hearts content. Gabby and her crew really went all out for our group breakfast.

Thomas runs up to me and said everyone was super excited for the brunch that they wanted to start the meeting early and take it slow so we can get to know each other even better. Me and Savannah take our seat and the room goes quiet. I welcome everyone for wanting to start our meeting early and was glad we were able to get off to such a good foot after everything that had happened on Saturday. We listen to Sabastion and everything he knew of the wolf eagles and the other altered creatures that this group he says call themselves The Government created for war. The creatures he says were created so the humans could battle each other with less human causalities. They also apparently felt very worried that the were creatures were creating a pact and they thought they were gonna start attacking the humans. However they didnt realize that the were creatures work in peace with their neighboring towns even hiring them for jobs when needed. Such as the florist who was a human always supplied the flower arrangements or part of the kitchen crew was actually humans doing a work study with the nearby college north of the little town. Even the gardener who had retired was human and had been with us since he had started training under his dad at 16. He is currently training his grandson as a replacement since he had been asked to come out of retirement. We had been doing all types of work studies with the nearby college and even had a summer program with a couple colleges on the otherside of the mountains. We worked well with the humans and was trying our hardest to make working with other breeds the best that was possible. It was getting easier since me and the beta and one of my gammas had found their mates in the other breeds.

Our meeting went on till about 1pm when we had came up with a good plan and even had everything set for the coronation in a couple weeks where the whole group had insisted on inviting the town out as a thank you for all their support for these many years. We planned to throw the coronation on the grounds and even had a couple new people who were studying event planning at the college standing in with Gabby making sure everything would be perfect. The downside of the new people was one of them was a vampire who had trekked around the world to go to our local college to do their renown for work studies. It made me nervous having a vampire doing a work study with us do to our long history of being enemies. However we currently now had a known adversary and were allies working together against this so called Government. Hopefully our team up helps formulate a centuries long friendship with the vampires. Only time will tell. It had been a long day and everyone was raring to get out and stretch their legs and head home to their families that they had been away from for about five days. We all leave the dining room.

Savannah follows her father to his room to talk to him and I head to my office to work for a few hours since I spent so much time with Savannah all I got done recently was the meeting and coronation prep. I spend the rest of the day till about six running over paperwork and agreements. When Gabby links me asking if I would like dinner in my office. I tell her no and I would be down in a few minutes for dinner.

*Savannah*

I follow my dad out the dining room and we go to his room so I can help him pack and talk to him since we hadn't spoken in a few days since I had wrapped myself around Alex. We begin talking about how mom already missed me and how my brother and sister were excited about calling me queen sister instead of just sister. Lexy always had an affiliation for me being the foremost of the pride princess's. Dad said mom had a surprise for me when she comes up in a couple weeks but wouldn't tell me what it was even when I used my best kitten eyes. Before dad left for his drive back we had went onto the grounds so I could show him what I had been practicing. He was most surprised when I had made the grass grow above his head and the flowers bloom before his eyes before returning them back to how we had found them. I told him about the deer who had came to me when Alex and me went for a hike and how I could understand the animals and how she had known even though I was a predator I wouldn't hurt her or her fawns.

We talked till about five when he said he needed to leave or my mom wouldn't stop calling him till he got home. We laughed and I walked him to his car. We hugged and he got in his car and left. I return to the manor and enter the dining room around 5:45 and take my seat. I notice Alex wasn't down yet and Thomas and his Dragon beauty were feeding each other. I see the new recruit Sebastion and his Bear princess also feeding each other. Gabby had served a grilled salmon tonight with as many different sides as we could eat. There was rice, broccoli, carrots, corn on the cob, mash potatoes, and green beans. There was even many diffenent breads to choose from also such as rolls, buiscuts, round loafs and flat loafs, nut filled and fruit filled. It reminded me of the breakfast meeting we had.

Gabby came over and asked if Alex was joining us tonight and I told her I hadn't seen him since the meeting and hadn't been able to link him to see if he was ok. She said she usually checked on him around six to see if he was eating downstairs or in his office and would check to see what he was planning tonight. She returns a few minutes later and tells me he will be joining me shortly. I nod and thank her while she refills my glass. A few minutes later a relaxing scent overwelms my senses and a pair of hands cover my eyes. "Did you miss me?" comes a whisper into my ear sending erotic shivers down my spine and instantly I become wet. He growls as my arousal hits him and he replies," Smells like you defiently missed me." Alex sits down beside me and I notice he looks a bit exhausted as he starts heaping food onto his plate. I laugh at him and say," Starving and tired?" He nodds with a mouthful of salmon before swallowing and says that he forgot his afternoon snack. He usually has one delivered around 3 to help hold him until dinner but he was so busy with paperwork that he forgot to order something. I ask him why Gabby made so much food and he explains that today began the summer work program with the college. Each year they hire students to work for them through the summer and some of them stay and others transfer to other packs. This summer Gabby has 15 kitchen assistants and 2 planners helping out with everything from meals to partys. I ask him if maybe he should get an office assistant to help him with his work and he explains that I will begin assisting with pack work soon and that would alleviate the workload. He then asks what I think about hiring a couple gardners to help out he was thinking of starting a pack garden to help with the amount of food that the pack eats and he could then expand the work detail in the college to include gardening and landscape training in the summer program. I tell him its a good idea and we agree to start plans in the morning of the best place for the garden to be and how many we need to hire. A group comes out clears the remaining food and replaces it with cakes, cookies, pies, and cobblers before bowing and exiting. We enjoy our dessert and thank Gabby and her team for the wonderful meal before heading to our room hand in hand.

I had finally learned how to contol the lights turning off when Alex touched me thanks to a couple tips from my dad. Alex hadn't noticed but he looked completely beat when we got to the room. He showered gave me a hug and layed down falling asleep almost immediately. I showered and sat outside on the balcony admiring the sunset with a cup of hot chocolate. At around 10 I went inside and laid down. I was hoping to have a good nights sleep with Alex in bed with me but I slept restlessly and stricken with nightmares.
