The mansion was unusually quiet, Nobody mentioned the photograph. Nobody mentioned the note. But everyone was thinking about it. Aria found Kael standing alone in the library. He hadn’t changed out of yesterday’s clothes. You didn’t sleep? I tried. She walked over. You still think she’s dead. He looked at the photograph in his hand. “I don’t know what to think anymore.” Before Aria could answer Daniel burst into the room. “Sir.” Kael frowned. You ran? “I did.” Daniel handed him a sealed evidence bag. “I had the photograph examined.” Kael looked up. “So?” Daniel took a slow breath. “It wasn’t printed recently.” “It was developed five years ago.” Silence. Aria blinked. “So…” Someone has been keeping it all this time? Daniel nodded, yes And that’s not the strange part.
