To claim his family’s billion-dollar empire, billionaire Kael Blackwood must marry within thirty days or lose everything to the ruthless uncle who has spent years waiting for his downfall.

Every woman dreams of becoming Mrs. Blackwood. Every woman except Aria Carter.

Haunted by a painful past and determined never to let money decide her future, Aria rejects Kael’s outrageous marriage proposal without a second thought. For the first time in his life, the man who can buy anything is told no.

Refusing to walk away, Kael offers her a fake marriage that should have been simple: one contract, thirty days, no feelings. But as enemies circle, family secrets surface, and someone begins sabotaging their lives, their carefully planned arrangement turns into something neither of them expected.

In a world where betrayal comes at a price and love can cost an empire, Kael must choose between protecting his fortune and fighting for the only woman who has ever seen the man behind the billionaire.

The Proposal That Changed Everything
At exactly six o’clock every morning, Aria Bello unlocked the glass doors of Café Étoile. The city was already alive, Car horns echoed through the streets. Vendors shouted over one another. The rich hurried to meetings while the poor hurried to survive. Aria belonged to the second group she tied her navy-blue apron around her waist and forced herself to smile at her reflection in the café window. It looked real enough years of pretending had made her an expert. By seven, the café buzzed with life. Business executives ordered expensive lattes without looking up from their phones. Students filled the corner tables with laptops and textbooks. A little girl stood in front of the pastry display, torn between a chocolate croissant and a cinnamon roll. Aria smiled and slipped an extra cookie onto the girl’s plate. The child’s face lit up “Thank you!” “Our little secret,” Aria whispered. For a moment, the weight on her shoulders disappeared. Then her phone vibrated. Lakeside Medical Centre. Her heart sank. She hurried into the staff hallway before answering. “Miss Bello?” the nurse said gently. “Dr. Adebayo needs to see you today.” Aria’s grip tightened around the phone. “My mother is she alright?” A long silence followed. “Please come after your shift.” The call ended. Aria leaned against the wall. She knew that silence. Hospitals only sounded that gentle when they were preparing someone for heartbreak. Not today. Please… not today. “Aria!” her manager shouted. “Table twelve!” She swallowed the lump in her throat. “I’m coming.” She wiped away the tears threatening to fall and walked back into the café with another perfect smile. Customers didn’t pay for sadness. They paid for coffee. She had just picked up a tray of drinks when the café doors swung open. Silence swept across the room. Even the espresso machine seemed to stop hissing. A man stepped inside. Over six feet tall. Tailored black suit. Cold grey eyes. The kind of confidence money couldn’t buy—because it came from already owning everything. Every woman in the café stared. He ignored them all. His gaze landed on Aria. He walked straight toward her. Her heartbeat quickened. Had they met before? No. She would have remembered a face like that. The man stopped only inches away. “Miss Aria Bello?” “Yes…” He reached into his jacket and placed a black envelope on her tray. “My employer has a proposal for you.” Aria frowned. “What kind of proposal?” The man looked her directly in the eyes. “Marry Kael Blackwood.” The tray slipped from her hands. Porcelain exploded across the café floor. Every customer turned to stare. The stranger didn’t blink. “If you agree, you’ll receive $500 million.”
