The next morning, I visit Sister Evelyn to ask her permission to go and visit Rosa and Norman on the weekend. Sister Evelyn agrees, not even asking the purpose of the visit - it's as if she innately understands that I need to speak to someone separate from the school about everything that's been happening to me. She clearly trusts Rosa, and is happy for me to confide in her. So she called her up during the week and arranged for me to go visit her on Saturday morning after Morning Prayer. When she told me that she'd "ring Rosa to lock it all in", I was surprised to learn that that St. Selaphiel's Academy even has a phone, given its strict anti-technology stance. My guess is that she has an ancient landline somewhere in her office. Or maybe she sent a messenger pigeon - or a white dove bles
