Ava just finished college and got out of a bad relationship. She has one summer before she goes on to medical school and back to studying and being a good girl. One summer to spend with her best fried Ashley and to party hard, no strings attached. Then she meets Aiden. A guy that would be perfect for her in her normal life, perfect for a relationship. But also a guy that puts up a hard cover, that has his own problems to deal with and that is flat out rude to her the first time they meet. And she isn't ready to be in a relationship again anyway. Right?

Chapter 1 - getting ready to leave
I heard a car come to a sudden stop outside, tires screeching and all. Which was weird enough because my room wasn’t even facing the street. Then I heard someone yell and that familiar high-pitched honk. As fast as I could I ran out of my dorm room and across the balcony up front, which lead to it. Leaning over the railing I looked down and saw Ashley’s big Jeep parked in the middle of the road. “Yo, girl, that ain’t no parking spot”, I shouted at the top of my lungs. Some people passing by looked up and stared at me like I was crazy. “Yo, girl, do I look like I care”, Ashley yelled back. I bolted down the stairs and pulled her into a tight hug. We were both laughing so hard, we broke into a sweat. Which wasn’t unusual since it was over a hundred degrees outside. Out of breath I let go of her and looked her up and down. “Your hair is shorter. And red”, I said with a judging face. She whipped back her shoulder length hair over her shoulder and did the same look up and down on me. “You got even skinnier”, she commented just as judgingly. Then we started laughing again. After she found a real parking spot, I helped her carry her bags to my room. She brought way too many for a one-night stay. But I wasn’t even surprised. Ashley was my best friend since preschool. We did everything together. Studied together, went to parties together. We even had a crush on the same boy in sixth grade, but that couldn’t ever drive us apart. Only when we went to college we had to split up. Ashley went to some fancy private university that cost more than my parents made in a year, and I went to a public university. My university was still really good though for a public one, top in our state for public schools. And with my scholarships it only costs a fraction of hers. Even though we had to live several hours apart for four years, we never lost contact and always visited each other. But this year was different. Since my last year of college was over, I would stay at her place for summer break and work there. It was going to be the most time we would spend together since high school, as I would usually work in my hometown over summer and only visit her for like a week or two. But this time, I would be staying two full months. After that, Ashley would continue to go to her university as she started a year after me because she traveled through Europe for a year after high school. But I, I would go on to medical school after summer. Which will be exhausting. The last four years were fun, but also a lot of studying. Now it all would intensify even more. Which is why I think I really deserved this break. Especially after everything that went down with Benjamin last year. But I don’t want to think about that now. No, this summer would be my summer. Just me, enjoying myself, working a little and meeting a lot of cute guys. Really just taking a break from my usual nerdy self that was always studying and instead being a party girl. Just for the summer. “Oh honey, your room got even smaller since the last time I was here!”, Ashley said in astonishment and stopped me from going further down my mind. I laughed. “Well, not everybody’s parents are rich, you know.” She looked at me and raised an eyebrow, but then she also started to laugh. For as long as we were friends, we never fought about money. Sure, Ashley’s father was a plastic surgeon and rich, and her mother was a lot younger than him, while my parents were typical middle class. But that never stopped us from cracking jokes about each other’s lives. “You can be glad my roommate already moved out for the summer, so you can have her bed tonight”, I said, pointing to the bed on the right wall that I got ready for her. She sighed and started opening her huge duffle bag. “How many nights exactly do you plan on staying?” I asked her jokingly, as I pushed one of her smaller bags aside with my foot to go and sit on my bed on the left wall. The room really was tiny, there was barely any spaces between the beds except for the nightstands. The fact that I had two boxes and a suitcase already packed with all my stuff didn’t help either. I wouldn’t be going home this break, so I had to take all my stuff to Ashley’s and from there to my new place at my new university. I got a full ride because of my good grades, but I would have to move out of state. Luckily Ashley lets me stay with her. I wasn’t exactly on speaking terms with my parents since I had broken up with Benjamin. Quickly putting that thought aside I looked back at Ashley, who was watching me with a worried look on her face. She probably figured who I was thinking about, but I just shrugged. I really didn’t want to talk about that now. She got the message and just sighed. Then she looked down on her bag which had to contain clothes for weeks. “Well, you never know for which occasion you have to dress. I really hope you packed some nice things!” She looked over at my suitcase with a suspicious look, which made me laugh again. I let myself fall over into my bed. Just laying there, on my back, and listening to her unpack, I was smiling. I hadn’t been this happy in a while. “Ava!”, Ashley said loudly, and I flinched. Seems like I dosed off for a bit, as Ashley had finished unpacking. I don’t even know why she bothered unpacking for just one night, but her stuff was all over my roommates’ side of the room. And now she was looming over me with her arms crossed like she was about to attack. “Oh no”, I said, knowing exactly what she was up to. “Oh yes”, she replied with an evil grin. I sighed. “Really?” “Hell yeah! Today is the first day of summer and you will officially have the summer of your life, girl! So, get up and get dressed! We’re going out!” She pulled me out of bed to my already packed suitcase that she had opened back up. I sighed again. “I’m not really in the mood. I just want to leave this town and everybody in it behind me and get a fresh start. I didn’t really go out here for months and wouldn’t even know where to go.” But Ashley didn’t take no for an answer. “I know what specific everybody you want to leave behind. So stop talking about it and start doing it! Here, this could work!” She pulled a skintight black tank top with cutouts on the sides and a black leather skirt out of my suitcase, messing up the whole thing. I just stared for a second. “I haven’t worn these for literal years. They probably won’t even fit anymore.” Ashley smirked. “Then better try them on! And don’t forget to put on cute undies!” After I reluctantly put on the clothes and they actually fit Ashley did my make-up and put my long blond hair in a high ponytail. Unsure about myself I stared into the mirror next to Ashley. She had decided to wear a way too short red dress with a really deep neckline and high heels that perfectly matched the red tips of her dark brown hair. She had more weight than me, which isn’t hard when you’re as skinny as me. The red dress perfectly shaped her curves. Whereas I, in my all black outfit with black boots, looked really unsure of myself. I still had some curves, but my boobs and hips were smaller than hers. The comparison really wasn’t flattering. Ashley saw the look on my face. “Don’t give me that! You’re perfect, you just need some more weight! And what you need right now, is alcohol!” She then proceeded to pull an expensive looking bottle of Bourbon out of one of her bags. I wasn’t even surprised anymore. After taking a long sip herself and sporting a rather unflattering grimace, she handed it to me. I knew better then to question her when she was in her ‘go get it’-mood. So, I took several sips of the bottle. The faster I got drunk, the better the night would be for sure. Soon we were both slightly drunk and stumbled down the stairs in front of the dorm. Living on the third floor sucks sometimes. Ashley put her arm around me so she wouldn’t trip and fall in her heels. “So, where do we go to? Where do you kids go to party these days?” she said while laughing. I shrugged, careful not to throw her off me. “Honestly, no idea.” She rolled her eyes. “Hey boys”, she then shouted across the street at a group of maybe four boys that looked like freshman. I flinched before almost falling over from laughing. I was really proud of her. When we were kids, I was the loud one and she was shy. I really need to get that back. The boys just stared at us. “Tell me, where is the best place to dance?”, Ashley kept pushing. After staring at us for a little longer, one of them told us how to get to a club downtown. I vaguely remembered the name from my earlier years when I still went out with friends. When Benjamin still let me have friends. A cold shiver ran down my spine. Nope, not going down that road now. I’m way to drunk for that. “Let’s go”, I almost yelled at Ashley and started pulling her with me. She laughed. “That’s the spirit!” After stumbling along for a couple of minutes we finally got to the place and got in after having our IDs checked. Perks of senior year: You are officially allowed to drink and party. Cons: Most of the guys are younger than you. But that didn’t really matter tonight. Ashley pulled me on the dancefloor, and we danced as if our lives depended on it. I haven’t had that much fun in years. After a while I leaned towards her. “It’s so hot in here, I need a drink! You want something?” But she just looked at me, question marks in her eyes. I pointed at me, the bar and then here. “Drink?”, I mouthed. She blinked, then laughed and shook her head. When I tried to leave and get to the bar, she held me back and shook her head again. Her lips almost on my ear so I could understand over the loud music she said, “We don’t buy drinks. Guys buy drinks for us!” I just rolled my eyes. “For you, maybe”, I yelled back and turned around to leave, when there was suddenly someone standing in my way. I didn’t know him, but he was really good looking. About my height, a bit too pale with dark hair and a black shirt. Probably a few years older than me. Definitely. He looked at me with a smirk and I just stared back in confusion. Why was he blocking my way to the bar? My drunk ass really needed that drink. Then he pulled me closer on my arm. I froze for a second, then let him. “I heard you’re in need of a drink?”, he said into my ear. I couldn’t believe it. A good-looking guy like that wanted to buy me a drink?! I should dress up more often. “That’s not the only thing I’m in need of”, I replied, copying his smirk. He laughed a little, then proceeded to lead me to the bar where he ordered me said drink. Behind his shoulders I saw Ashley giving me a thumbs up. I shook my head smiling. She’s unbelievable. “Something funny?” The guy leaned closer to me again with that smirk. Dang, that really was sexy. I felt like a teenager again. “What’s your name?”, he asked me when I didn’t reply. Note to self: Stop being stuck in my thoughts and start enjoying life. “Ava. And yours?” I said. He told me his name, but I immediately forgot. It wasn’t like I was ever going to see him again anyway. Also, his dark eyes were fascinating, and he seemed to be unable to take them off me. Who could say no to that? After some more flirting and finishing my drink I waved goodbye to Ashley and went out back with him. “My place is just a few blocks away”, he said. But suddenly the thought of going home with a stranger scared me. That would mean surrendering to him, giving up control. And that’s one thing I really hated. But I also really wanted to get laid. Without replying I pulled him closer to me and put my arms around his neck. Not holding back anymore, I started kissing him until we were both panting, and he pushed me back against a brick wall. Luckily there was no one else on the back road behind the club and there was no streetlight. I couldn’t believe I was about to do that, but I just really needed to feel something. While still kissing him, I slowly moved my hand down the front of his shirt until I reached his pants. He pulled away for a second and just looked at me. “Really? Here?”, he said. I just nodded, out of breath. I really needed that right now. He smirked that enchanting smirk again and started kissing me while undoing his pants. But he wasn’t fast enough, so I pulled down his boxer shorts myself to start rubbing his p***s. He was already hard; I could feel him press against my hips. His lips went down my cleavage while his hands pulled up my skirt and pulled down my panties. It all happened so fast. Next thing I know he lifted up my legs and I put them around his waist, then he was already in me. I moaned loudly. That felt so good. All that tension that was building up that whole night, that whole year, was finally about to be lifted. He grabbed my legs and started pushing into me harder, my back against the wall. I put my head back and just let go of my emotions, moaning loudly while slowly getting closer to coming. I could feel him tense up too. He started rubbing my breasts through my top with one hand and I almost screamed. I just pulled him closer again to kiss him when I was finally there. With a loud moan I came, and so did he. I could feel him let go inside me. We stayed like that for a moment, both trying to catch our breath. That was the moment I realized that I just had had s*x with a stranger ín a back alley and a condom might not have been a bad idea. Luckily, I was on birth control, but still. If I wanted to have a party summer, I would have to be more careful next time. Then I snapped back to reality when he slowly pulled away and put me back down on the ground. My knees were kinds wobbly at first, but that didn’t last long. With the rest of my almost non existing dignity after this episode I pulled my panties back up and put my skirt back over my butt while he buttoned his pants. Then we just stood there in awkward silence. “Uhm”, I tried to say something but came up empty. What do you say to a stranger you just f****d on the street and who’s name you have already forgotten? Have a good night? Hope I’ll never see you in daylight? He smiled a bit embarrassed without his smirk from before. That made him look younger, maybe just a year or two older than me. “Well, how about you give me your number?”, he asked. I just stared at him. “Why? In case you ever really need to get naked on the street again?” He laughed a little, almost putting the smirk back on. He was really cute; I wish we would have met sooner. “Maybe we could grab a coffee or something at some point?”, he asked. Now I was really unsure. He was cute, maybe I should go for it. But this was supposed to be my summer. No strings attached, I reminded myself. “Sorry, but I’ll leave town tomorrow and won’t come back. So that isn’t gonna happen.” I shrugged and gave him an apologetic look, then turned around before I could change my mind. He just looked surprised and stared after me until I went around the corner. I took a deep breath. I really just did that.
