Dark Forest-part one-

“I see” Said Noah.
The next day, when Noah and Hope woke up, April and company decided to tell the whole story to Noah.
“I was wondering how was that guy going to act, but I never imaging that he would burn a whole town just to get us” Said Noah.
He was indeed surprised, he wondered how far did the influence of Leonardo have so he could basically do whatever he wanted to do.
“Does his family is really over the law around here?” Asked Noah.
“Not exactly, but, there needs to be a very, very serious reason so the ones above would want to make the family of Leonardo accountable of something,” Said Teo.
“And this is not serious?”
“Not serious enough”
“But… there are at least 100 corpses here”
“There weren’t magicians among them, so…”
Noah suddenly realizes that, maybe, this world was more similar to his own world than what he originally thought.
“You have to understand that, the mortal world and the magician world are too far away from each other, although magicians said that they aren’t different, the truth is that magicians see mortals as inferior creatures” Said April.
“You as well?”
“I can’t say the opposite, not at the level of Leonardo of course… but yes” Said April with a bitter smile.
“I understand” Said Noah.
Hope grabbed Noah’s hand.
“Bad?”
“Come here, princess”
Noah hugged little Hope.
“We are going to a very dangerous place, so you need to listen to April, whatever she says, you do, you get it?”
“But…but… April bad?”
“Please princess, for me?”
Hope pouted a bit and nodded with bitterness.
“April, can I talk to you?” Said Noah.
“Yes” Said April.
She grabbed the hand Noah and both walked a bit far away from the group.
“What is it?” Asked April.
“April, you have been good to me, I couldn’t be more grateful to you, however…”
“Hope is my little sister and my only family, I can’t expose her to a danger like this”
“Not without a guarantee”
“What do you mean?” Asked April.
Noah grabbed the hand of April and, with a serious gaze that dint matched his age, he looked straight at April’s eyes.
“You have to promise me”
“If, by any chance, Leonardo is too much for us to handle, I will create an opportunity”
“You will abandon Teo, miss Angelica and me, and you will run with Hope back to your family”
“Noah that’s…”
“If you don’t, then I will go back with Hope”
“I can die, but she… she has a whole to live” Said Noah.
“You are still a child; don’t you have a life to live as well?” Though April.
She obviously couldn’t know that Noah was a grown-up adult inside, of course, Noah didn’t want to die, however, he also knew that the possibility was there, so he needed to be prepare. He thought about saving himself, he has a whole family waiting for him.
But… if things came to worse, his parents had each other, Hope didn’t have anyone. She still hasn’t even made her first steps towards the path of life. Noah wanted the best for her, she was the one to save him from hanging himself.
She was his family as well.
And for Hope, Noah was his only family too.
“April, Hope is my family, I can’t escape while leaving her behind, I would probably live with regret for the rest of my life, I am asking you because you are the person I trust the most” Said Noah.
The eyes of April became a little wet.
She kneeled on the ground and hugged Noah.
“I promise” Said April.
Noah hugged April back, his little hands were shaking from the thought of dying, but he also felt a weight on his shoulders.
“Thanks you” Said Noah.
However, Noah wouldn’t thank April if he knew what was actually on April’s mind.
“THAT LITTLE BRAT…. SHE IS A NUISANCE”
She grabbed harder the back of Noah.

After they took breakfast, Noah and company went on their way towards the dark forest.
“Why is this place is called the dark forest by the way?” Asked Noah.
“The threes are too tall, so sunlight doesn’t penetrate the area, in other words, there is no that much vision on the day, let alone in the night” Said Teo.
“What’s more, there are terrifying creatures there, creatures with the dark attribute” Said Angeline.
“Creatures with dark attributes?” Asked Noah.
“You don’t know? The cores of the animals are a basic substance for magicians” Said Angeline.
“I didn’t know” Said Noah.
“Anyway, due to the nature of Leonardo’s magic attribute, is easier for him to stay in the dark forest, after all, dark creatures don’t come near to lighting magic” Said April.
“I see” Said Noah.
“I wonder what my attributes are? The nature of the four primordial elements in WOA wasn’t as simple as lighting, water, fire or anything like that…” Though Noah.
“So we must be alert, fire magic is a big disadvantage in the dark forest, if I use fire magic, I would ignite the whole forest, killing us in the process, so I am basically useless there” Said April.
“My water magic is not that bad, however, dark creatures aren’t afraid of water so we have to be careful about them and Leonardo”
“My attribute is wind, it has its advantages in the forest, but, more than giving us a route of escape, I don’t think it will help a lot…” Said Teo.
“So far so good” Though Noah.
“You can see it from here” Said Teo.
Noah went out of the carriage and he looked, due to his height he didn’t see anything so April helps him putting him on her shoulders.
“I see why people call it the dark forest” Said Noah.
At the distance, a forest that contrasted with all the plain could be seeing.
Although he was still a bit far away, he couldn’t see more than a bit of tree in the distance.
“This is going to be dangerous” Thought Noah.
