“Interesting, so these little bats have… peculiar taste towards mana” Said Angeline.
“Noah, could you ask Scarlet how does my mana smells like?” Asked Angeline.
“Sure”
Noah conveyed the message towards Scarlet who floated towards Angeline and smell it, then he flew back towards Noah.
“He says that it has a sweet smell”
“Then… would he or another bat be willing to make a contract with me?” Said Angeline.
“Yii”
“He says that there might or might not, but your probabilities aren’t high”
“Why?”
“They love darkness; they don’t want to abandon this place” Said Noah.
“I see” Said Angeline.
“Anyway, the other bats would be our eyes so we just need to follow them” Said Noah.
He walked at from of everyone and Scarlet floated in front of him.
Noah and his group moved forwards for hours without encountering any danger, of course, it was all thanks to the bats.

“Really? Then, what do you usually eat?”
“Yii? Yii, yiiiii”
“I see, almost like the bats I know, bugs and fruit” Said Noah.
Along the way Noah was talking to the bat, the other ones saw this and thought it was strange, usually, beast tamers don’t ‘talk’ to their animal partners they have more of a business contract.

“Little girl, didn’t I told you to stay by April’s side?”

“Little girl, this little friend of ours isn’t a toy, he is just like us, he has feelings and opinions, remember to always respect others, even if they are ‘lower’ creatures” Said Noah.

“Good” Said Noah.
“Scarlet, my little sister wants to meet you, do you mind?”

Scarlet floated towards Hope and stood in front of her.

As a little girl who only knew his brother and nothing more, Hope was fascinated by everything.

“Hey Noah” Said Angeline

“I hope that you didn’t forget but what are actually in enemy territory here, this is not a playground”
“Of course I know that” Said Noah.
He was of course very alert to his surroundings, he has to confess that he was pretty scared, however, he had to act tough, so Hope was at easy.

“Princess, go back, stay at April’s side”

Little Hope backed up, and with an angered face, she grabbed April’s hand.
Noah didn’t notice but April and Hope were looking at each other and talking with their eyes.

Teo looked at this and then patted Noah’s shoulder.

After a few hours Noah and Hope couldn’t walk anymore so they decided to camp.
Teo and April were in charge of preparing anything, as children, Noah and Hope didn’t have to do anything. Angeline was in charge of the food, she packed some bread and water, they couldn’t lift a fire so bringing meat was useless.

Scarlet got away from Noah’s shoulder and flew to the darkness.
“Where is he going?” Asked April.
“He said that he is bringing something good for us” Said Noah.

After twenty-something minutes, Scarlet returned…

Angeline, April and Teo stood up and prepared to attack.
After all, a bat, twice the size of Scarlet and with four wings, appeared.
Its eyes were as red as blood and its fangs were sharper and bigger than Scarlet.
“A… A bloody bat” Said Teo with a trembling voice.
“What is a tier 2 beast doing here!?” Said Angeline.
“They live in the deepest far of caves, what is a bloody bat doing here!?” Said April.
The bloody bat looked at the group and flew towards Noah.
“Brothesh…” Said Hope.
She wasn’t nervous though when her brother was alongside her, she didn’t feel scared.
April wanted to move forward but she was a bit too scared to move.
A bloody bat was a beast that not even Angeline, who was a famous magician, could defeat.
“…” Noah looked at the bloody bat and smiled.

“…” The bloody bat stood in silence for some seconds.
He came close to Noah and landed on the ground.
Noah walked towards the bat and offered his mana, this time though, his mana was a bit denser and stronger.
The bloody bat opened its mouth and devoured the mana.
It seemed to taste the mana for quite some time.
It bowed its head.
“Human child, you are interesting”

Everyone heard the voice of a middle-aged woman.
Noah bowed as well and hugged the bat.
“I am sorry, but it’s really cold” Said Noah.
“No, I don’t mind” Said the bat.
Hope came closer and hugged the bat as well.
“So warm~”
“Haha, our skin is made so we can live in cold places” Said the bat.

Angeline, Teo, and April felt their reason flowing away.
“No-no-noah?” Asked Angeline.
“She is Scarlet’s mom” Said Noah.
“Mom!?” Said April.
“I am sorry, sometimes I forget that humans can’t handle this form,” Said the bloody bat.
Smoke began to appear and, after a few seconds, a woman dressed in black appeared.
She had red hair and eyes, she wore a chinese-style black dress(Cheongsam).
“Is this better?” Asked the bloody bat.
“What the-”
“She-she-she can transform as well…” Said April.
The legs of Angeline trembled and she fell to the ground.
“A ti-ti-tier one bloody bat queen…” Said Angeline.
A bloody bat queen, a mythical creature that it hasn’t been seeing for almost 500 years. It says that the last bloody bat queen killed more than 100 top-tier magicians and was need almost 100 ranked magicians to kill it.
Of course, Noah didn’t know this, so just happily walked towards the queen.

“I said that I don’t mind, you gave my dear child some of your precious mana, I am very grateful” Said the bloody queen with a smile.
“Yii~” Scarlet appeared from behind and floated happily towards Noah.
“Scarlet, you wanted us to meetsh your mothersh?” Asked Hope.
