Rain POV
It's been about a month since I first met Blaze, he has been coming by to visit me at least twice a week. We have become good friends along with the nameless man who I learned was called Zack. Blaze has also begun construction on an indoor garden for the hospital and honestly I'm so excited to see it completed. My life is starting to get a little brighter just by meeting Blaze, it's just unfortunate that my health is getting worse. It's typical just when I start thinking it might be nice to leave and have a life, my illness pipes up to remind me I can't. I finally got Dr.Hoop to tell me how long he thinks I have, its a sum total of 8 months. I really though I had a little longer, but my illness is always ready to cast a shadow over me. Blaze seemed so sad when I told him that he said I should keep fighting and not give up. It's not that I have given up, it's just that I have spent so may years fighting that I'm just tired now. Im sitting in my bed thinking about Blaze and wishing for more time when the door to my room bursts open.
"Rain!" Blaze shouts excitedly as he practically runs through the door.
"ww-what?" Jesus that scared me.
"Sorry, I have fantastic news" what could he be talking about, maybe the garden is finished I love to see it.
"Well don't keep me in suspense tell me" I don't really get fantastic new often.
"I think I can save you" I just look at him stunned, what did he say save me, how, why, I don't understand what's going on right now.
"Rain did you hear me, are you okay you look a little pale"
At this point Zack walked in with Dr.Hoop "How did you expect her to react when you just burst in and blurt it out like that" Zack pointed out.
I finally awoke from my shock and asked Dr.Hoop "Is it true, your not playing a joke on me"
Dr.Hoop just looked at me "It's true and that would be a horrible joke, it is however complicated and you might struggled to understand" what did he mean by that.
"Rain there are some things we and I have been keeping from you, I need you to remain calm and let us explain everything to you" this was seriously freaking me out now and I think my breathing was getting a little heavy. Before I could say anything Blaze came over to my bed side, sat down and started rubbing circles on my hand calming me down, he could always easy my worries not sure why but his presence always helped me.
Zack sat in one of the other chairs and Dr.Hoop closed the door and came to the opposite bedside to Blaze. "Okay I'm going to listen and keep an open my so please start to explain this to me"
Dr.Hoop to a deep breath "First I have a question Rain, Do you remember the storms I told you when you where in hospital when you were little ?"
"You mean the ones about witches, vampires, wolfs and stuff like that?"
"Yeah those ones .... well .... they were more than stories" he looked at me to gage my reaction.
"What do you mean" I asked him a little sceptical, who wouldn't be though.
"I mean they are real, I am a warlock and Blaze and Zack are wolf shifters" I just look at him not blinking, real and my doctor and two friends are not human.
"Rain are you okay?" Blaze questioned drawing my attention back to him, I was shocked but only not scared.
"Yeah .... Okay lets assume your telling the truth"
"I am" Dr.Hoop interrupted.
"I want to see some proof" this would help me believe them if they can't show me something then they are defiantly lying to me.
"okay, I can show you some magic if thats okay" I just look at Dr.Hoop and nod my head.
Dr.Hoop puts out his hand and closes his eyes I just sit there watching for a minuet and then suddenly his hand begins to glow. It starts as a soft white light but gets brighter and brighter.
"OH MY GOD!!!" I shout "I can't believe it so all this time you have been a warlock and you two are wolfs?" I said point at each of them.
"Yes" all three say
"Im sorry to have not told you Rain, but I don't revel this to humans unless its important and this is important now" Dr.Hoop looks at me apologetically.
"You see Im not just a wolf Rain, I'm the Alpha of my pack which means I'm the leader, it also turns out the you are my mate making you the Luna of the pack" Blaze said catching my attention.
"WHAT!!" I just sit there thinking what does that mean I'm just a human.
"What is a mate and how can I be you're Luna I'm human" I look him dead in the eyes, oh they are so gorgeous, no stop that this is not time to get distracted.
"A mate is the life partner of a wolf shifter, they are the other half of our souls. We don't get to choose them, the moon goddess choses them for us" he pauses for a moment to see if I am understanding him, I nod for him to continue "We can be mated to any species not just other wolfs and while it is rare for a wold to be mated to a human its not impossible. Because you are my mate that automatically antically makes you my Luna"
"Okay I think I understand, well as much as a human can I suppose. My question is how does this save me I'm assuming its not to do with your magic Dr.Hoop or you would have save me already" I question him.
"Yes I have tried all I can to cure you, I have managed to lessen your symptoms and extend your life but unfortunately I can't heal you, Im sorry" he look very glum at this.
"Its fine you allowed me to live longer and made it less painful so I done blame you" I really dint with out him I would probably already be daed and I would not of had a friend like him.
Blaze catches my attention now "Its me who can save you, but before I tell you how would you be willing to move to my pack house and live in our hospital where I can explain further, your not going to get better here and we can take better care of you" I look at Dr.Hoop thinking, would this be alright, he does have a point and I do trust him, must be the mate thing he talked about.
"I'll be going with you if you decide to go" Dr.Hoop states, that does make me feel better.
"Fine, I guess staying here is pointless now, i'll go with you" Well that is possibly the biggest decision of my life, at least it gets me out this hospital and maybe even cured.
