" i am starving“ Diasy blotted out trying to get up. "Pls take it easy, relax, i would go check around for something for you“ I suggested. I had been in the hospital a number of times but for some reason I decided to call doctor Ken. I picked my phone and decided to call him. I had thought of going to see him in his office but he could just be busy;I didn’t want to come off as too desperate too. " hey doc“ I began trying to sound playful and not too formal at the same time. "So….I was wondering if you knew somewhere I could get a nice meal around. My friend is hungry“ I quickly added, to avoid him thinking I was being too forward. " I know somewhere, it’s not too far from the hospital premises, I am free at the moment, I could drive you down…if you want.“ his voice was low, husky and sounded like a tease. Was it what I was thinking or it was my mind playing tricks on me. " Doc!Doc! So you want to abandon your patients and follow woman abi?“ I had teased him, hoping to get the same playful respond. "Ha,ha,ha, look at this small Girl o. I am just trying to save you from the area boys around, stop all this plenty forming and go and wait for me by my car,I would be out in five minutes“ he was definitely not taking no for an answer. The whole time I had forgotten I was still in the same room with Diasy, she a had a wide smirk on her face. " so you brought me to your boyfriends hospital?“ she asked with a smile that made me shy. " pls o, he is our family friend..boyfriend ke”I loved the sound of her calling him my boyfriend, too bad it wasn’t true. “Just look at you, smiling from ear to ear calling him your family friend. Don’t worry we know you people, from family friend straight to inlaw” we both bursted out laughing, it was a beautiful moment, who would have thought that we could ever laugh together about something. “ I actually wish” I whispered, hiding my face in an attempt to hide the very sheepish smile on my face. " awwww, you like him!!!” She stated, prying into my eyes and daring me to deny. I got a phone call almost immediately and I could tell he was already at the car. “ he is the one calling, I would be back soon” I picked my bag up and started arranging my hair and applied on some lipgloss. “ you already look so beautiful, don’t worry he knows it too” she gave me a smile that reminded me of my mother’s. “ thank you” I mouthed and hurried out . “ the both of you better not play love and forget my food!!” She warned in a jocularly manner. Hopefully no one heard her.

Just as I had suspected ,doctor Ken was already outside his car waiting for me. I couldn’t help but stare at him;he was so incredibly handsome. He was tall, dark skinned and had the brightest smile in the whole world; I could do anything just to see that smile of his everyday of my life. “ so you kept your doctor waiting right, dont worry I would keep a big needle for you when next you call in sick” he teased before opening the door for me and going over to his seat. The smile on my face at that point was so wide, I just couldn’t stop smiling, he was such a perfect gentle man. Why was everything about him so perfect? His car smelt so nice, I wanted to be in it all day long. He switched on the car and immediately one of frank edwards songs started playing. O my God! I thought, could this guy just marry me at this point and stop playing hanky panky with my feelings. “ hope you like the song, your generation only likes loud music, I love worship songs they make me grateful for how far God has brought me.” He said, nodding his head in Unison with the song. I have never really known much about him, apart from the less than ten minutes conversations we normally had each time I came around I never knew what kind of person he was. Just seeing him sincerely worshipping God while in the car made my feelings for him intensify to a 100;I loved me a man that loved God.

The drive was roughly a 10 minute drive. We were already at the restaurant in no time. I had pictured a local eat out but he brought us to somewhere that looked really fancy. “ I don’t have money for a place like this O doctor Ken” I had announced the moment he opened the car door for me. “ come out joor, I know you do but don’t worry I got you” he said to me smiling in the most adorable way ever. The moment we walked in to the restaurant he held my hands in a manner that suggested we were an item. It felt so safe, he held my hands so tight and I could tell he wanted every guy there to know I was with him. His shoulders were so broad that I wanted to lean on it. “Control yourself daine!”I had whispered under my breath. It felt too good to be through.

“Pick whatever you want,” he told me stroking my hair gently like I was his little pet. I felt I was in heaven;this couldn’t be real. I had ordered something not so expensive for me and Diasy, I honestly didn’t know how to act. The drive back was quiet, a part of me felt something was up, why was he acting romantic all of a sudden I had to be sure I wasn’t imagining things . “Mmm…what was with the hand holding and stroking of my hair at the restaurant, someone would have easily thought we were dating you know” I barely managed to finish my sentence. I just didn’t want to keep giving myself false hopes. “Are you scared someone is going to tell your boyfriend?”he asked raising his eyebrows and giving a wide grin. “ i don’t have a boyfriend “ I replied trying to hide my face. “ then relax, there is nothing to fear “ with that he started playing with my hair again.
