- Ethan’s P.O.V -
Reika and I were currently in my office her book still in front of me. She stared at me in disappointment as if I let her down by not marking her.
I want to more than anything, but how can I know and be sure that it won’t end with her dying.
“Reika, please. I don’t want us to fight again. I just want us to go to bed and forget we fought at all,” I stood up after closing the book.
“Fine,” she said.
“But if more wolves die don’t act the way you did around me again,” she said lastly and exited the office.
I followed her to our room and stopped her by grabbing her arm.
“When did you get so controlling?” I ask.
“Controlling? Worrying about the pack and hating the way you treated me makes me controlling?” She raised an eyebrow.
“You really are an Aloha aren’t you,” I lean in.
“I think I am,” she leaned in as well.
“And if you think I’m going to let you kiss me right now as if nothing happened you’re wrong,” she whispered and backed up creating space between us.
She began to take off her clothes until she was almost naked and searched for her pajamas without allowing me to approach her a single centimeter.
After she was fully dressed again, she sat on the bed and looked at me.
“Good night,” she said and rested her head on her pillow.
“You’re tempting me,” I said.
“Me?” She asked.
“Yes, you,” I walked to her side of the bed.
“Acting strong and independent, not letting me touch you, and being the alpha. The way you barged in today during the meeting. I’m still half animal you know?” I smirked kneeling till was at her level.
“I’m not trying to do anything,” she replied.
“Well, you’ll have to excuse my imagination,” I said.
She sat up straight and looked at me with narrow eyes.
“You think I’m going to allow us to have s*x after everything? After you blamed me for what happened? Or for avoiding me? You got another thing coming Ethan,” she said with a bossy tone.
“I’m sorry. I really am, I shouldn’t have said or done all these things,” I sigh.
“What do you want me to say for you to forgive me?” I asked.
“I miss you, Reika. This is the first time we go to bed without at least talking,” I spoke.
“You did this to yourself,” she said.
“What do you need me to do,” I said still kneeling in front of her.
She stared at me for a while before she smiled a tiny smile.
“We’ll kiss and do all that stuff. We’ll do it now but on one condition. You mark me,” she said and I stood up.
“Forget it,” I walked to the foot of the bed and took off my shirt.
“You don’t miss me anymore?” She slid her hands across my bare torso.
“Reika, don’t tempt me. I’m half-animal,” I remind her although she knows our kind has less control over this stuff.
“What you don’t want the rest of the pack to see your fangs in my neck? Or feel powerful because of your mark?” She said with a low voice.
“You know what I want?” I asked.
“You, alive,” I said and turn around.
“Ethan, for f*cks sake there’s no proof of this stupid myth or that it’s real,” she said behind me.
“Then how do you explain your father's death?” I ask her.
“It could be him losing his mate, or the guilt he felt for creating me and making everyone in the pack vulnerable,” she said.
“Okay look,” I look at her and cup her cheeks.
“Prove to me that the mark won’t injure you and I’ll mark you instantly. I’ll make you mine right that second, but as long as there’s a one percent chance of killing you, I’m not doing it,” I explain then go to bed.
- Reika’s P.O.V -
I stood in the middle of our room thinking of a way to make Ethan mark me and I thought what’s better than the source?
After all, she’s the witch who made me human and hid all those secrets from everyone.

The next day, I walked into the common room and there were a couple of betas there talking with each other.
“Talia,” I called her and she came straight to me.
“I need your help with something,” I said.
“Of course, anything, Luna,” she nodded.
“Do you know anything about a witch in the woods?” I asked but she didn’t answer.
“A witch?” She said a few seconds later.
“Yes, a witch,” I repeated.
“Luna, the coven of witches haven’t been seen in centuries, and if they were still alive, they’re definitely not here,” she answered.
I clenched my jaw for a second but then calmed down again.
“Okay, thanks,” I thanked her and walked out of the packhouse, and went straight to see Josie.
“Luna,” someone called.
When I turned around it was Luis.
“Yes?” I said.
“You’re looking for a witch?” He asked and I nodded.
“Does the Alpha know?” He asked and I looked at him with no response.
“I think I made it clear before that the Alpha and I are equals,” I said.
“If you don’t know where I can find her, don’t waste my time, Luis,” I tell him.
He doesn’t answer for a few seconds but then sighs.
“Follow me,” he said and started walking.
******
We’ve been walking for about an hour now and none of us said a thing the entire way.
“How do you know where you’re going?” I ask.
“Or how do you know about the witch in the first place?” I ask another question.
“After Ethan became Alpha he searched for someone who could protect us and he found this witch. Although she’s not directly protecting us, they both made a deal, Ethan would keep her safe from her coven I return for her powers and what she knows about the pack,” he explained.
“I’m guessing she spelled the waterfall,” I said.
“Yeah, she created it from nothing. There was no waterfall before. When Ethan was thinking of why could be a good distraction he ended up with the waterfall and then added the no human spell to the water,” he spoke and I nodded.
“He’s a great Alpha,” I said.
“The best,” he agreed.
“We’re here?” He said.
“We reached a small cave with a closed entrance.
“Luis, stay here,” I said stopping him from entering the cave.
“I’m not going to let you go in alone, Ethan would kill me,” he said.
“Don’t worry, I think she knows me,” I said.
“What?” He looked confused.
“Just wait here,” I said and finally he agreed.
When I entered the cave, it was dark for a few steps but afterward, I saw a little light and an old lady sitting alone.
“Well well well, I never thought I’d see you ever again,” she said when she saw me walk in.
“I’m sorry for your loss. Your mother was… something,” she continued.
“You know my mother?” I asked.
“Oh yes. I’m the witch who kept you wolf dormant till now,” she said.
“So you’ve seen me before,” I said.
“Yes. You were just as beautiful. I tried to warn your mother about the danger she’d be putting you in if she let me spell you but…” she shrugged.
“So you know my father,” I sat down.
“Who doesn’t. Well, other than your pack,” she laughed.
“What do you mean?” I asked.
“Does your pack know you’re the Alpha? Or that you the Alpha King? Descent of Alpha Kai or his daughter?” She asked all those questions.
“Are you psychic?” I asked and she shook her head.
“Just a witch who’s too old to be alive right now,” she answered.
“Tell me, what do you want to know?” She asked.
“I want to know if this getting marked curse is real,”
“It is. Unfortunately, it killed your father,” she answered.
“Don’t lie,” I said sensing the tone.
“Why would I lie?” She looked at me with shock.
“Because you didn’t tell me what you want from me in return,” I said.
“I also now know that you lied to Ethan and that this curse isn’t real. You’re just saying it is so he doesn’t activate my powers and end his pack’s vulnerability. So you can get the help you want from him to stay away from your coven. But once he becomes stronger and so does his pack, he wouldn’t need you anymore, which means he would not protect you anymore,” I said all of this hitting me like a brick.
The old witch didn’t say a word and I laughed.
I stood up to leave having my proof for Ethan.
“Wait!” She called out.
“I’ll tell you the truth,” she said.
“All of it,”
