Chapter 10: Girl’s Dream

Startled, Kendell glanced up, her eyes locking with a pair of intense golden eyes observing her closely. She realized she had unwittingly wandered to the edge of the forest. There, leaning casually against a tree, was a man who seemed to be roughly the same age as Drake, though slightly older. His posture and demeanor made it clear that he held the status of an alpha. Kendell paused at the forest's boundary, leaving just enough distance between them to assess the situation. "Yes, I am," she replied. "Why do you ask?" "You have quite the spirit, I see. If you were part of my pack, things would have been different. But since you belong to this pack, I have a proposition. How would you like to have the alpha all to yourself?" he proposed. Kendell's desire to become Luna and claim Drake for herself urged her to listen. "What do you mean by 'your pack'?" she inquired, noticing a smirk forming on his lips. "I am Alpha Duncan, Drake's cousin, and leader of the Crescent Pack. I'm not here to discuss myself, but rather to present you with a way to make Drake entirely yours," he explained, stepping away from the tree to stand directly in front of her. Kendell met his gaze steadily. "I'm interested. What do I need to do?" Duncan glanced around to ensure they were unobserved before reaching into his pocket to produce a small glass vial, the kind one might use to store buttons or other small items. He handed it to her. "You're planning to offer him a drink, aren't you?" he asked, receiving a nod in response. "Add this to his drink before you give it to him, and he'll be entirely captivated by you," he stated confidently. Concerned but intrigued, Kendell asked, "What's inside it?" With a reassuring smile, Duncan replied, "Nothing that will harm you. It's like a love potion; it will make him fall hopelessly in love with you. Go ahead, take it." Kendell tightly grasped the bottle in her hands, her eyes searching Duncan's face with curiosity. "Why are you helping me?" she inquired. With a smile, Duncan replied, "I just want my cousin to be happy and with someone who truly deserves to be a Luna." Kendell returned his smile. "Thank you. Being Luna has been my dream for as long as I can remember," she confessed. "You should get Drake his drink and remember to add the contents of the bottle," Duncan instructed, already turning to leave her behind. With a thoughtful glance at the glass vial, Kendell slipped it into her clutch before making her way back into the pack house, heading directly to the bar. Though the music had ceased, Drake's alpha presence dominated the room, affecting everyone present, including Kendell. His fury was palpable, and she found herself wondering about the cause of his anger. She observed as Alpha Rudolf placed a calming hand on Drake's shoulder, attempting to pacify him. After a few moments, Rudolf exited the pack house. Sensing an opportunity, Kendell grabbed a beer and removed the cap. Casting a cautious glance around, she discreetly exited without drawing attention. Outside, she spotted Drake in the same area as before. Kendell retrieved the small vial from her clutch and poured its contents into the beer bottle. Confident in her appearance—she always knew she looked great—Kendell approached him. Despite the distance diminishing between them, she could still feel the anger radiating from him. "What do you want, Kendell? I told you I'm not interested," Drake said sharply. "I brought you that drink I promised. You still don't have one, so I picked this up for you," she said, handing him the bottle. He looked directly at her with his intense brown eyes. "It's a peace offering," Kendell continued, feigning sincerity. "I just want to be your friend, Drake. You seem like you could use one." He held her gaze for a moment before accepting the bottle, and Kendell stood quietly beside him. Drake gazed into the distance, a hint of frustration in his expression. "I despise being an alpha. There's an endless stream of rules and regulations to follow. I'd love to abolish many of them, especially those that seem utterly ridiculous," he remarked in his deep, resonant voice. Kendell replied, aiming to demonstrate her support for his leadership and prove herself a worthy Luna. "Once you are officially the alpha, you could attempt to eliminate many unnecessary ones. While the elders often have a strong influence, if you demonstrate that their concerns are irrelevant, they'll likely step aside," she suggested. Considering her words, Drake looked at her thoughtfully. "I hadn't considered that perspective," he admitted, lifting the beer bottle to his lips and taking a long drink. Unsure of what to expect, Kendell stood silently beside him. Moments later, the bottle slipped from Drakes's grip, hitting the ground as he began to shake his head, eyes closed. This continued for a few seconds. Concerned, Kendell placed a hand on his arm. "Drakes, are you alright?" she asked softly. When he opened his eyes, they were a deep black, revealing his wolf's presence, tinged with unmistakable desire. He fixed his gaze on her intensely. Without warning, he grasped her waist and kissed her fiercely. His tongue entered her mouth with ease, exploring passionately as he maneuvered them both toward a destination, all while maintaining the fervent kiss. Kendell was overwhelmed by the sensations; this was the moment she had yearned for since his return. She found herself pressed firmly against a tree. He lifted her by the waist, and instinctively, she wrapped her legs around him. Anticipating this moment, she had forgone wearing underwear beneath her dress. He broke the kiss to trail his lips along her neck, while one of his hands reached between her legs, slipping a finger inside. A low growl of approval escaped him as he discovered her readiness. Hastily, he unzipped his pants, lowering them along with his boxers to his thighs, continuing to kiss and suck her neck. Kendell could feel his hard length pressing against her. With a swift motion, he pulled back, aligning himself with her, and thrust deeply into her. A moan escaped Kendell as Drake moved with increasing intensity, grunting with exertion as their lips met once more. She had longed for this reunion. "What on earth are you doing, Drake?" a voice shouted suddenly. Drake paused, turning his head to see who had interrupted, his eyes still an intense black. "I'm with my mate. What's your issue?" he replied defensively. Mate...? Kendell thought, her mind reeling. She heard the footsteps of the intruder retreating back into the pack house.
