"Why would he be here? He left us with them. He tricked us," Lizzie thought, her anger simmering.
"If he comes anywhere near me, I will kill him," she vowed. "He captured me, pretending to be a friend. He's in with them all."
"Why would he be helping them? Why me?" she wondered, her confusion growing.
Lizzie scanned the street, but no one was there. She was about to turn away when she saw him. She looked back at him, her heart pounding.
He smirked, noticing her gaze.
Lizzie turned and grabbed her rope. She made sure Kate was asleep. Her door was closed, and Lizzie didn't really want to hear what was going on in there.
She headed down the stairs to the front door. She opened it quietly and looked around. He was standing at the end of the driveway.
"I hate his guts," Lizzie thought, her rage building.
Pam was awake, and Lizzie knew she could sense him. He had sent them into a trap, and now Lizzie was going to make him pay.
She walked closer to him but stopped a few feet away.
"You came back," he said with a glint of a smirk. "I thought my friends would teach you a lesson, but I was surprised to hear they were killed. I told you if I saw you again, I would make you my mate."
Lizzie growled, her teeth bared.
"Like hell are you making me do anything? You sent me into a trap. I'm going to kill you," she snapped, lunging at him.
He caught her in mid-air, grabbed her by the throat, and slammed her on the bonnet of Kate's car. He leaned into her and sniffed her neck. "Little girl, I am stronger than you. I will eat you alive, but I like you. I want you to be mine," he said.
His scent hit Lizzie's nose, making her want to gag.
"Get the f**k off me, I will never be yours," she snarled. "I am no one's."
His hand tightened around her neck, and he stared at her. Lizzie could feel the anger rolling off him.
"What about your alpha mate?" he asked, a cruel smile playing on his lips.
Lizzie looked at him, confused. How did he know about her mate?
He laughed and let her go.
"Wondering how I know about that?" he said. "I have my spies everywhere, and I know more about you than you ever imagined."
"He's lying," Pam said, standing up on all fours, growling at him. They hadn't used their power yet. He didn't know about it.
"What is that supposed to mean?" Lizzie asked. "You're not from this pack?"
He growled. "I would never be part of this pack; they are weak. I am an alpha, and my pack is stronger than this one."
He was an alpha. Lizzie's suspicions were right. She needed to find out more about him.
"Duncan, I won't be yours or anyone else's," Lizzie said in a growl, her claws coming out of her fingertips, but she made sure he couldn't see. "If you ever come anywhere near me again, I will kill you." As she finished that sentence, she lashed out at him, catching his right eye.
Blood gushed out, and he snarled, his hand flying to his face. But before he could do anything, the lights in Kate's house came on.
Lizzie looked towards the house, but when she turned back, he vanished.
Kate must have heard what was going on, surely?
Lizzie looked around, trying to find Duncan, but she heard the door open.
"Lizzie, what the hell?" Kate shouted as she came running towards her. She helped Lizzie down from the bonnet of the car.
"Who did this?" Kate asked, looking between Lizzie and her car.
"A wolf that trapped me. He works with the hunters," Lizzie said through gritted teeth.
"That's what you were going to tell me tomorrow. Who is he?" Kate asked, leading Lizzie towards the house. She kept looking over her shoulder to see if he had gone.
"He followed me. I thought I could trust him, but he took me straight to the hunters. He didn't stay. He left," Lizzie said as they walked through the door. Kate locked the door behind her and turned to Lizzie.
"I had to use my power to kill the hunters; there were a few of them," Lizzie said. "They were working with someone, but I couldn't make out who it was. They were always lurking in the shadows."
"Is the wolf from this pack?" Kate asked, but Lizzie shook her head. "No, his name is Duncan, and he's from another pack."
Kate looked like she wanted to kill him or was considering plotting his death.
"Kate, he's an alpha," Lizzie said, her voice firm.
Kate looked at her with wide eyes. "Alpha Duncan? Are you certain?" she asked.
Lizzie nodded, looking confused. "Yeah, you know who he is."
Kate looked at her blankly.
"Kate, tell me, please!" Lizzie shouted at her. "Who is he?"
Kate looked at Lizzie and sighed. "Lizzie, he's Drakes' cousin. He's the alpha of the Scarlett Crescent pack."
"Oh, this just keeps getting better," Lizzie thought, her frustration growing. Duncan was Drakes' cousin.
Lizzie growled, her anger bubbling over.
"Lizzie, he's ruthless and cunning. He's known to kill people. What did he want with you?" Kate asked, her concern evident.
Pam magnified their power. "He wanted me to be...he wanted me to be his mate," Lizzie said through gritted teeth.
Lizzie could see Kate struggling under the power they were unleashing. Pam pulled back on it.
Kate looked at Lizzie. "Are you his mate?"
Lizzie shook her head and growled louder, "NO..."
"Lizzie, we need to be careful," Kate said. "We need to learn more about him, on the quiet obviously, but also judging on this, he must be working for someone."
"Well, I can't do that. I already clawed his face," Lizzie said, her voice filled with rage. "I want his blood."
Lizzie couldn't calm down.
Pam came through, and they were as one. "We want him dead," they growled.
Kate knew there was no way of talking to them when they were like this. She looked at them and smiled.
"How about we try and calm down? What about if we talk to Ellie."
The name calmed Lizzie slightly. Ellie. She missed her so much.
Lizzie looked back at Kate and nodded. Talking to Ellie always helped. They went to the kitchen, and Kate dialed the number and handed Lizzie the phone.
Lizzie placed the phone to her ear to hear her sweet voice.
"Hello, Mummy," Ellie said in her sweet voice.
