Chapter 1
This is Obufo town while the scorching sun succeeded at its maximum where Adekunle's family was not excluded. Adekunle and his wife Asake usually work in a village not far from their town. Adekunle's family comprise of five; Cynthia, Mariam,Ajadi. Adekunle himself and his wife Asake. Adekunle goes to farm on every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. That means Adekunle sleep on the farm for five days and decided on Thursday and Friday as resting day at home. This system is usually employed by Baba Mariam during the wet season. Adekunle must have given birth to more children to aid the produce, but his hardworking capability had left every stone to be turn by him and, the pebbles to be taken by Ajadi who was his only son.
No skeptic about the skeptic of the beauty of Adekunle's children.But, the meaning of beauty is subtitled in Cynthia. Cynthia has a curly hair, big eyeballs, light in skin ,slimmy and to cap it all, she is charming!. The distinct feature to describe Mariam is of her Busty which she takes after her mother.
There is confusion by people to know who is the oldest between Cynthia and Mariam as it is glaring that if they are going to be older than each other, it would in two or three months in a year. But, because, Cynthia is in her final year in a secondary school while Mariam is in her penultimate year in the same school, people tend to assume Cynthia is older than Mariam. Ajadi is in form 9.
One day, it was Asake, the mother of the three, yelling at Cynthia. Why the tumultuous flame of abuses kept firing on Cynthia. For Cynthia was vomiting profusely at the backyard of Adekunle's compound. It is obvious from the neighbours whose houses are behind Adekunle's compound. For the last time, Asake asked Cynthia, 'who gave you pregnant? ' while she was only looking at the ground floor to reply her mother. Asake face muttered with smile so that Cynthia could find feign solace to answering the question. Cynthia cried out while she was about to confess , the darkness fell on the eyes of Cynthia and Asake, the mother of the three as the light went off in the community that night the uncommon moment in the history of Obudo town.
