Chapter 3

I had convinced myself that I’ll only take a short shower but the water felt so good, kind of like it was washing away my sorrows that I could not resist staying longer. So five minutes turned into thirty minutes. As I wrap my towel around my body, I wonder if I partly delayed because I was anxious to see Noah. It has been a while, so of course, I’m nervous but I trust Noah to break the ice easily. His people skills have always been topnotch. I find Noah stretched on my bed when I exit the bathroom. His appearance is slightly messy but God isn’t he the most attractive man I have ever seen. I hurry to put on the outfit that I had laid out which is a short sleeveless jumpsuit. I move closer to him like the creep that I am and admire his sleeping form. My eyes roam his face from full brows to his pale pink eyelids that are covering the most stunning set of blue eyes, then to long thick lashes that any woman will be jealous of. I resume my admiration to his pointed nose, down to his perfect bow-shaped lips, and lastly to the subtle beards on his jaw, my hand itching to caress it. I can't help but think that Noah has grown more mature, his rugged look is enough proof. An entirely dirty scene featuring his lips on rather intimate parts of my body has me blushing and squeezing my thighs. Sophie! Control yourself woman! You have a boyfriend for goodness sake. Still, my traitorous eyes trail down to his yummy body which is clad in simple yet stylish clothes. Heck, he could make a trash bag look stylish. He moves a little which causes his shirt to lift up a bit giving me the satisfaction of seeing a little bit of his perfect and which has a delicious swirl of hair leading to a paradise hidden in his pants. Again Sophie! Control your thoughts! His feet lay bare on the bed which means he remembered to take his shoes off before climbing my bed. It used to be a nuisance. "I'm glad just looking at me can make you smile like that" I look up to see a smirking Noah. A sense of nostalgia fills me. "Now you are crying, come here. You know I hate seeing you cry." I quickly run into his arms which are extended to me. I know Noah doesn't like to see me cry, he always complained about how scary I looked. When we were younger, I'll use crying to threaten him but this time was different. I don't know what it is about Noah that makes me want to spill my fears and darkest secrets to him. Just a look from him and I'm crumbling to a thousand pieces. "It's okay princess, I'm here now. Everything is going to be alright" he says, tucking me closer. After a few minutes of listening to him muttering sweet words and rubbing circles on my back and me soaking his shirt with my tears, I pull myself together. " How was your flight?" I ask to lift the mood. "Awful as usual, how do you feel?" He finds a way to return the attention to me. "Awful as usual" I mimic in a weird tone "Not funny princess, I'm worried about you" he tickles me in punishment. "Was that why you got Liza to be your little spy? If you just kept your promise and called me every day like you promised or even picked whenever I called, you wouldn't need Liza to give you a daily rundown of my life" I huff and cross my arms with my pout on full display. I am not mad at him, not anymore at least. That didn't mean I couldn't ruffle his feathers a little bit. "I'm sorry, I've been busy this past month trying to put everything in place just so I could be here with you right at this moment. About Liza, you know I only tolerate her because of you. She kept calling even when I ignored her, I thought something was wrong" he explains. "So... What did you two discuss?" He was on a roll so why not take full advantage. " She said you were acting weird and she was worried so she had to call me. She felt you missed me even more since Nathan was away, which I understand because I'm just so lovable. Since you blocked my number, I had to get the gist from her" he rolls his eyes when he says blocked. "I definitely did not block your number Noah, I would never do that" Noah is my person, I wouldn't block his number over such a trivial matter. "Yea, remember that time, with that Cassandra girl-" Noah starts but I interrupt him. "Don't even bring her up" The thing is I might have blocked Noah but he deserved it. He dared to hang out with this Cassandra who was kind of my mortal enemy at that point just after my sixteen-year-old self mustered the courage to confess her undying love for him. I was pissed. ”Okay, I asked Liza to tell you I needed to speak with you but you denied my request. Why did you deny my request?" This is news to me. "That's strange. Liza didn't tell me anything. I really wanted to hear from you." Gosh, Liza must have forgotten to ask me. "Do you think it was her plan, to keep you from speaking to me?" Noah says going all detective on me. "Chill out detective, what will she even gain from that? It makes no sense" seriously, what will she gain? "Why don't we check your phone, I'm sure my number is blocked on it" and he goes straight to type in my password which is 'Noah'sbae'. I will be embarrassed if I didn't know his password was Sophie'sboo. Childish? Yeah. We came up with it when we were basking in the euphoria of a secret relationship but that's a whole different story and a long one at that. The point is we never got around to changing it or we didn't want to. "There, my number is blocked Sophie and since you didn't do it, it is certainly her. I'm sure she has access to your phone." He seems quite happy with his findings, his eyes shining bright with triumph. "I'm sorry to burst your bubble Noah but Liza doesn't t have access to my phone. Do you think I want everyone to know my password? It's embarrassing." I walk to my dressing mirror, just remembering that I hadn't brushed my hair after my shower. I quickly throw it into a messy bun. "I'm not embarrassed, so you shouldn't be." I roll my eyes at him. "Sophie seriously, I've always had a bad feeling about her and this whole thing seems shady. I know you trust easily but please be careful with her" "Sure" I give him a look that says he is being way too sensitive and to shove his assumptions up his ass. Fine, I'm exaggerating, I do not know how to give that look but hey! Wouldn't it be so cool? "By the way, Nathan called. Oh, look! Your boy toy Daniel called too" Noah didn't seem particularly thrilled to say Daniel's name. He pronounced it as though he had dog poop in his mouth. You get the point, disgusting. "Noah be careful, your jealousy is showing. Please call Nathan back, he is probably worried" I replied rolling my eyes at his obvious jealousy. "I have no reason to be jealous sweet cheeks, we both know who owns your heart. So...you aren't going to call your boy toy huh? Is there trouble in paradise or is he just not taking you to paradise?" He wiggles his brows in suggestion. Naughty man. "Wouldn't you just love that but I'm sorry to disappoint. Everything down there is perfect, too perfect." I lied obviously, Daniel and I haven't gotten around to doing bed stuff. Yeah, we have cuddled but even that felt weird. "If you say so, though I don't believe just anyone can take you to paradise. Anyway, I texted Noah and he is in a meeting he wants us to go with the original plan which is great since I got mum to pack a picnic basket when I got home. No, you don't have to thank me but I can think of nice payment that will keep us both happy if you catch my drift" I arch a brow at him and he lifts his hands in surrender. That's just Noah, a flirt. A decorated Doctorate degree holder in the course 'the Art of Flirting'. Knowing this fact doesn't stop me from swooning from time to time. Ok, all the time but who is counting. "Go change your clothes and we will be on our way" he gives me a salute as he leaves my room. Ok. Time to meet my parents.
