Cherilyn Knight's Point Of View. The loud, relentless banging on the door startled me awake, pulling me harshly out of my restless sleep. My body felt heavy, weighed down by exhaustion and lingering dread, as I dragged myself out of bed to stop the obnoxious noise. It was still dark, the faint glow from the bedside lamp doing little to lift the oppressive weight in the air. As I shuffled toward the door, muttering a curse under my breath, I caught a movement out of the corner of my eye.
