"Mika... wake up." I felt a slight tug on my shoulder. "Mika... wake up..." That voice... I tossed to the other side, slowly opening my eyes to see who was calling me. Black hair grazed in fresh sunlight with eyes as green as a meadow greeted me. My vision cleared up as I saw Yuu staring at me with a worried expression. "Yuu-chan?" I quietly said. I heard Yuu's voice let a soft chuckle. It sounded so calming that all of my worries had vanished like air. I was at ease. "You're calling me Yuu-chan again without saying my whole name first. Are you getting comfy with me?" He said with a rather gentle tone. My hand reached out, touching Yuu's cheeks like my life depended on it. A light feeling came to my chest. Yuu-chan is really with me... Everything is real... it's not a dream. "Yuu-chan..." A tear slowly dripped from my eye. Yuu-chan, I'm finally here with you again. I can't believe it... "Are you seriously crying again?" My eyes shot open when I heard a different voice greet me. I was surprised to find myself in another place. I wasn't on a bed with Yuu on a bright morning but instead, I was in a dark room in what looked like an abandoned building. It was dirty and rusty-looking like it hadn't had any life for years. In front of me with a sly smile was Ferid Bathory, the man who I had thought died in flames for the second time. But Yuu-chan already saved me... he did. I saw everything! Then I realized how both my hands were tightened up by thick ropes. Not again! I shook my head violently. "This can't be happening... how in the world did I come here? I could have sworn Yuu had saved me back at your house..." My breath was shaking from speaking. "What?" Ferid wondered, "You passed out when we talked about your princess, Yuu-chan, remember?" He giggled. "My place became a little boring so I just thought it would be much better to bring you somewhere..." he looked at the surroundings before sneering at me, "...nostalgic." Nostalgic...? I narrowed my eyes at him, slowly turning my head left and right so I could understand what Ferid had meant. Then it came to me... this place is... "That's right, Mika..." Ferid leaned downwards to make himself close to me. Our faces were only a few ways apart. Ferid had an evil smile on his face, "Welcome back to the place we both burned in flames." My eyes grew widely along with my heartbeat pounding very loud. How could he possibly take me here?! Why did he do this?! "What do you want with me?! Haven't you had enough with toying with me and Yuu-chan?!" I scowled as tears started to form in my eyes. Ferid placed his index finger in front of my lips, "Shh...now, now...Mika." he whispered gently as his hand touched the back of my head. I watched him closely, unable to move because of the ropes trapping me. "Let's not forget..." he stood up, still holding the back of my head. Then suddenly, I felt a surge of pain as Ferid gave a strong blow at my face with his knees. What made it worse was that he had pushed my head towards his knee. "...how you caused my whole production to go down in flames!" He scowled, sounding out of composure unlike how his usual. Water escaped my eyes, my face feeling like it was burned from the pain. I groaned, unable to speak any words. As much as I wanted to talk back to him, I couldn't. His foot met itself with my stomach as he gave a hard blow, "You've always been so damn selfish, Mika." He hit me again on the same spot, "If you weren't milking things from me ten years ago..." Ferid continued to kick my stomach again and again as he spoke, "...you wouldn't have been suffering right now. And what makes you even filthier..." His foot had stopped hitting me as his shoe touched my chin. My head was raised by Ferid's foot, making me get in eye contact with him. Ferid's foot had settled by the side of my head, caressing my face slowly. I could feel my breath shortening from the pain, my throat drying up like a desert and sweat dropping like rain. A sadistic smile came across his lips, "...is that you had to get your best friend involved in your selfish affairs." My head was thrown to one side as Ferid kicked it. I yelled at the stinging pain I felt. Tears dropping down like a stream. A wet feeling came from my forehead, and the smell of iron was near me. Blood had trickled down from my head. Ferid gaped, pretending he was shocked, "Oh my! Was I a little too harsh?" My eyes and my body weakened. I couldn't bear thing any longer. "Well, it doesn't matter. I don't really care~" Ferid giggled. "I'll leave you for a while, little Mika. I still have some important business to attend to." He walked to my back and crouched down. My eyes grew wide and I yelped as I felt a sting. Ferid had slapped my ass real hard. He cooed, "But I'll be back later~" I felt disgusted by what he did, feeling like I could throw up any second. But I chose not to say anything so that he could leave me alone. I remained silent, watching Ferid going out of the room I was in and shutting the door. I heard him lock it tightly just before he completely disappeared. "Damn it..." I bitterly murmured. What was going on? I thought I had finally escaped Ferid's grasps... Yuu-chan saved me. Ferid's whole house was burning in flames. Don't tell me it was all just a dream... Yuu-chan... I let out a soft cry. Just when I had finally remembered everything, I am stuck in this kind of situation... just how unlucky can one get? But I guess this is all my fault. I was the one who let Ferid come into my life. Everything started with me... it was my fault Yuu-chan got involved in the first place. Maybe it's true that I deserve all of this... Yuu-chan didn't have to get into this mess... I am really pathetic... My eyes looked around the dark room. It was a mess. The floors were stained with oil and dirt, random metal pieces were scattered everywhere and other stuff was all around. I stood up. But even if I am pathetic, it doesn't mean I can't try. No... I am through with being pathetic. No more. I have to fight for myself... for Yuu-chan... I walked over to the metal pieces, looking at anything that might help me. I pushed things out of the way with my foot, checking each and every scrap I could find. Then I paused when I had found shards of broken glass. Bingo. --- Yuu's POV Guren, me and Mika's mother, Krul, rushed to the door of that sick bastard, Ferid Bathory's, house. I quickly turned the knob a couple times, realizing that it was locked tight. "Step aside," Guren said as he placed his hand on my shoulder. I stepped back, letting Guren face the door. He began charging at it with his shoulder hitting the door hard. BANG A loud crash was heard when the door hit the wall as Guren knocked it open. "Let's go!" The three of us ran inside the house, going in our separate ways to cover more ground. "Mika? Mika! I'm here!!!" I yelled at the top of my lungs. But there was no response. Just silence. Why isn't Mika answering? Don't tell me... I frantically ran up the stairs, checking each room, only to find out that Mika was nowhere to be found. Damn it... damn it! Where are they?! I checked one last room. It was rather small, and there were things scattered all over the place. It was the only room that seemed out of place since everywhere else seemed to be in order. Strangely, a chill ran through my spine. The room felt creepy as if my guts told me there were dark things hidden inside the room. "Yuu?" Krul had entered the room along with Guren. "We couldn't find, Mika." "Me too..." I took a quick glance at Krul, then went back to observing the room. I rummaged through a pile of crumpled papers, seeing what I could find. "Where could Ferid had taken him?" Krul said. "Are you sure that Crowley guy wasn't making stuff up about that Ferid person taking your son?" Guren asked. There were so many papers all over, a lot of them had been full of messy handwriting. Some of them were incomprehensible but a few had said things about a grand plan and stories of play dates with children. That is so weird... did Ferid write all of this? "I'm sure. Crowley and Ferid may have been well acquainted but Crowley is still confused on where to place his loyalty." I heard Krul say. I rummaged some more like a scavenger looking for treasure. When I pushed away another pile of what seemed to be an endless cycle of messed up papers, I saw locks of golden hair. Part of it had darkened into a crisp black as if it was drenched in ink or burned in flames. My eyes watered as I recognized the golden strands. They were Mika's. I grit my teeth and clenched the hair tightly in a fist, "Ferid, that bastard..." When I get my hands on him... "What happened?" Krul asked. I looked at her, eyes full of fury as I opened my hands and showed her the golden strands. Her eyes grew in size, and her jaw dropped, "That's..." Immediately, Krul's brows furrowed harshly, her eyes burning with anger as her teeth gritted, "FERID!" She banged her foot on the ground heavily. "When I get my hands on you...!" Krul's hands began to shake as she clenched her fists tightly. Her leg swung towards the pile of papers, knocking them down and throwing them in different directions. She was infuriated, and I couldn't blame her at all. The fact that Ferid would hurt Mika made my blood boil. "Calm down." Guren touched Krul's shoulder and looked at me, "We need to figure out where he could have taken Mika, and we won't get anywhere by being hot headed about it. Let's keep our heads straight." Krul breathed heavily, letting out a deep exhale as her fists slowly opened, "You're right. I'm sorry." Guren nodded, "Look for anything here that might lead us to where they are." "Okay. I got you." I said, continuing to rummage through the pile. There were still more of the strange writing I had found earlier, and a lot of the words were getting scratched with ink that I couldn't get what they meant. It was as if they were written by someone who was deeply troubled or tried his best to keep a secret. Weird... As I went on looking through the weird papers, I suddenly found a tiny journal. It had a brown leather cover and a small golden button attached to it. I ran my hand through it before opening the journal. Some of the pages were evidently torn, and the paper it had was similar to the ones found in the pile. Could it be that the piles came from this little book? I began reading what was inside the journal. Property of Ferid Bathory April 4, 20XX I had talked with the great Lest Karr. He is one of the richest people in Europe. I had always been curious about his success in the industry. It is no surprise that he became wealthy from his several businesses... but today I found out about the true reason of his richness. But I needed to find Mika, and if this journal was going to help me, then I needed to endure. But today, I met the most charming little boy. He is around six years old, with blonde hair and bright blue eyes. Apparently, he is an orphan.... but what made me fascinated with this boy is the way he thinks. February 16 20XX I had met him again today. He still looked as adorable as ever, and I am still impressed at how mature he thinks. I never knew... children his age would be capable enough of knowing how to use people. How to use people...? Is he talking about Mika...? February 20 20XX Yes.. yes... what a charming little boy... Mika... Mika... I know you are just using me to get things from me. I know your loneliness as an abandoned child is just an excuse. You want my wealth. You want it. As I saw Mika's name, I gripped the paper tightly, my hand shaking from the thought of Ferid placing Mika as manipulative. Mika wasn't like that. He was stupid but not manipulative... never. He was kind. February 23 20XX And you'll get just that, little Mika. I will take you... and someday, you'll become my heir. I know... I see great potential in you. March 1 20XX I took Mika to the beach today. His eyes grew brighter today. Apparently, it was his first time to ever swim in the ocean. He hugged me for the longest time today, staring at me with eyes that resembled the night sky. It was full of light and longing. It gave me the weirdest feelings. March 10 20XX I am going insane. He will grow up with me there. He will stay there, captured...no, captivated by me. NO MATTER WHAT. THE FACTORY WILL BE HIS HOME, NO MATTER HOW OLD HE WILL GET. I immediately shut the journal, tears about to fall from my eyes. My voice was about to crack, "Guren!!!!" I stood up frantically, running to Guren, "The factory ten years ago... we have to go there!" "What...?" Guren asked. I wiped my eye as I felt a drop of water fall down, "We have to go there! We have to save, Mika!! Ferid took him to the factory ten years ago!" "Then let's go!!!" Guren said. We all rushed outside the empty house, going straight into Guren's car. Guren had started the engine and immediately ran the vehicle at full speed when we were all inside. I covered my eyes as my head looked down. Tears were falling fast as my heartbeat couldn't stop banging. Mika was in the hands of a maniac, and I needed to save him as soon as I could. Mika... I hope you are still okay. I'm almost there.... just endure a little longer...
