Tires screeched as Guren slammed his foot on the brakes. We had just arrived at the premises of the old factory I was found ten years ago.
I never would have thought I would see this place ever again.
"Let's go!" Guren said.
I pushed the door open, running towards the factory gates. We all rushed in, pushing off metal barrels that were in our way.

Mika's POV
The ropes made sounds as I scratched against the sharp edges of the broken glass shards I had found lying on the ground. The rope was slowly getting cut.
I felt a sting on my wrist as the ropes fell off. Immediately, I checked my hand to find a small trickle of blood. s**t, I was a little careless and cut my wrist by accident. But the pain wasn't anything compared to what Ferid has been throwing at me... no, even worse, the agony of being separated from Yuu. I need to get out of here.
Wiping the blood on my shirt, I moved towards the door. It had a small window on it, same as the one where Yuu and I had been trapped in before that had metal bars on it. I stretched my legs, trying my best to take a peek of whatever was outside. A lean man had been standing in front of the door.
Perfect. He'll be my ticket out of this place.
"Hey! How's it going out there?" I raised my voice.
I hear him grunt, replying with a raspy voice, "Whadda ya want?"
"Can I go to the bathroom? I need to take a leak."
"Din' the boss tell ya? That place is your leak hole!"
"Seriously...?" I narrowed my eyes.
"What? Pretty boy gotta go to a powder room?" He mocked.
I sighed gently, trying to contain my annoyance. This guy isn't going to budge easily. Ferid must have ordered him to do so. Gotta think of another way to get him to open the door.
Rubbing my chin, I walked back and forth as I thought of a plan. Then it hit me. If I couldn't get him to open up by negotiating, then I guess I'll force him in here. I rushed to the pile of junk lying in the room, searching whatever useful stuff I could get. I found a huge sack. Good.
I took the sack with me as I walked towards the door, standing by its side near where it would open.
"Man... must be a really stupid guy for Ferid to assign to such a boring job..." I teased.
I heard him grunt, "What are you yappin', girly face?"
"Oh, nothing~ Just thought you didn't have enough brains for Ferid to leave you with such an easy job." I continued.
"Huh?! Why you... shut your pie hole!"
"It's true, isn't it? Your tiny brain probably can't handle more difficult jobs than this one." I laughed.
"Why youuu...." I could feel him getting infuriated just by the sound of his voice. Good...
"I mean... with all the big plans Ferid has, and he just leaves you with guarding a room that's already locked? Seriously?" I laughed harder.
"That's it!!!!" I heard a loud stomp from the outside. The man sounded like he was losing it... and that was a good thing. "I'm gonna break that pretty little face of yours!!"
Come at me.
Metal locks began to ring as the knob slowly turned. As I watched the door moving open, I prepared myself for my next move. My plan worked as expected. Nice.
The lean man had come into the room without noticing me. As his back was in front of me, I pushed him further into the room with all my strength, ran out, shut the door tightly and locked it.
"HEY! WHAT THE!" the man shouted from the inside.
I wiped sweat dripping from my forehead, placing my hands on my hips as I look at the door behind me. On the small window, the man had held the metal bars, yelling like a wild boar, "GET BACK HEREEE! You're not supposed to come out!"
I grinned at him, "Are you feeling a bit... trapped?" A chuckle escaped my lips as I began to walk away. It was funny how I was able to pull off something like that. I never thought I could do it but I did... just like how Yuu-chan and I escaped ten years ago.
Now all that's left is escaping this whole place. Wait for me, Yuu-chan! I'm definitely going to see you again.
I read through a hall forward, taking careful steps because there might have been more of Ferid's men guarding the place. A few of them had passed by me, and thankfully, they hadn't noticed me at all. I was able to hide behind walls and corners as they were near me.
As I went on passing through different ways and halls, I found myself near the edge of the factory's center. I had been on the third floor, and I could clearly see the exit just two floors below me. It was near the main center of the building.
There it was... sweet freedom.
The only thing keeping me from running towards the exit was the number of men standing at the center. There were so many on patrol.
I need something to divert their attention.
As I was watching them, I hadn't noticed that someone was walking towards my direction. My eyes grew wide as I saw his shocked expression. He was just about to make a sound until I hit him on the stomach and covered his mouth instantly.
Thank you for my reflexes.
I gave a blunt hit in his neck, knocking him unconscious. Letting out a sigh of relief, I hoist him to my direction, hiding him in a small dark corner nearby. But before I left, I noticed he was wearing a hooded vest.
I could use that.
I yanked it off the guy, tapping dust off it. Afterward, I hoisted it around me, pulling up the hoodie and covering my head. This should help me blend in.
Leaving the now unconscious guy, I went on to walk towards the exit, making my way to the stairs so I could be one floor nearer. When I reached the stairs, two guys were on their way up. As we crossed, one of them looked at me.
Crap.
My heart raced for a moment. Am I going to get caught?
"Hey, you," the one staring at me said, "which area are you assigned to patrol? Get back to your station!"
My throat became dry. Words couldn't process out of my mouth because I was afraid they'd find me out.
"Hey! I'm talking to you!" He walked towards me with his hands on his hips.
I swallowed.
"He obviously can't go back with you botherin' him, homo!"
The other man had pulled the one who was walking towards my direction. The force made the man fall back, yelping in the process, "Yipes!!"
He almost went down on the ground but thankful he was able to save his fall, "Sheesh! Was that really necessary?"
"Yes! Now come on or else big brother is going to get his dogs biting our asses again!" he was pulled by his comrade, dragged away from me. I pretended not to care until they were finally out of sight. When they were gone, I let out a breath.
Close. That was too close.
Suddenly, a loud sound of tires screeching from the outside had come. It alerted both me and the guards. More them than me though. I could hear them asking each other what that was or how they should look out for unwanted guests. Whoever that was, I'm glad they came. This is the distraction I needed to escape.
Now is the time for me to run!
Guards began to run towards the center, and I ran downstairs as well in order to find a different exit, possibly at the back.
"Intruder!!!" I heard a man shout as I strode away to the first floor. They were all running towards the main exit. I could hear the men starting to shout as if they were already engaged in a battle. Those guys... whoever came is seriously brave.
In the midst of confusion, I went on looking for any possible alternatives to escaping. I headed over to the back area, checking against the walls. There was literally no way out of here besides the main exit. Damn it.
There was a lot of noise coming from the center area. I could sense there was a lot fighting going on back there. But I didn't need to be bothered by it, escaping was far more important right now.
The sound of footsteps descending from the floor above came, and a familiar voice rung in my ears.
"Well, well. What's with all the noise?"
Ferid.
I clenched my fist tight.
Everyone had gone quiet. The action had paused for a moment as all eyes were probably on Ferid.
Then my eyes grew wide as another familiar voice yelled at the top of his lungs.
"Ferid! Where is Mika?!"
I quickly turned my head, running in the direction of the center. "Yuu-chan...!" I quietly said, trying not to catch anyone's attention.
Yuu ran towards Ferid, his fists launching with speed. Surprisingly, Ferid returned the favor and lunged at Yuu. The two of them clashed with each other. Fighting one on one as the other men also followed their lead.
A man with black hair had been there fighting by Yuu's side, fending off Ferid's goons. And along with them... was my mother, Krul. Wait... mom?!
I thought she was in America attending important business?!
She had been fighting as well, kicking the men away from her and backing up Yuu and the man. Well... mother has always been a feisty woman. She even almost broke my wrist when she scolded me once. So I'm not surprised...
"Gah!" I heard Yuu gripe. Ferid had pushed him, making Yuu roll on the ground mercilessly. He stood up quickly, running back to Ferid to give him a kick on the stomach. This made Ferid jerk backward.
What am I doing? I shouldn't just stand here and watch! I need to help Yuu!
Hurriedly, I ran to the center, kicking random goons on the way. Not Yuu nor Ferid had noticed me though since the hoodie was still covering my head pretty well. I was just a few ways behind Ferid.
The two of them glared at one another. Yuu had eyes that screamed with anger and revenge with his fists ever so tight. Ferid' eyes, on the other hand, shined with hatred and sadism. I knew it. Those ruby eyes... all it ever wanted was to hurt people. I know so...
"Where the hell is Mika?!" Yuu scowled.
"My, my. Aren't you a brave little princess? Coming all this way to save his prince." Ferid teased.
"Wait... what?" Yuu's expression softened for a second, his cheeks turning a pink color. I gaped, my cheeks felt warm as I heard Ferid speak those words.
P-princess?
I shook my head violently. Not now! That can wait later! Gotta get rid of Ferid now that he's completely off guard.
Running with speed, I charged towards Ferid. As I jumped, the hoodie fell off of my head, revealing me to everyone. When I finally hit Ferid, he fell down on the floor, face first.
He crashed towards the ground, back facing me.
"Mika!" Yuu said.
I was going to smile at Yuu, when suddenly, Ferid had risen up and quickly grabbed me by the collar.
"Mika!" Ferid said, "You can never behave, can you?"
I winced. I didn't think Ferid could have gotten up so easily from my push.
"You let him go!" Yuu scowled as he ran towards us. At the corner of my eye, I saw Ferid's smile widen.
"GLADLY!"
As Yuu was near us, Ferid had suddenly thrown me towards Yuu. Our bodies crashed with one another, making the two of us groan. After we had collided, Yuu and I fell on the dirty ground.
"Oof!" Yuu squeaked as we fell.
"Yuu-chan, you okay?" I asked, concerned as I recovered from the hit. He looked at me with a smile as he also began to rise up again, "Yeah. As long as you're okay."
What you had said sparked a flame in my chest. It was comforting to finally see Yuu with all my memories in place. It felt like I was no longer lost... that I was already home...
"Awww. How sweet."
Ferid.
He was standing proudly in front of us with eyes as cold as ice. He took a small device from his pocket, raising it up in the air. What in blazes is that...?
Ferid clicked the device, and it beeped in response to it. A second later, a loud alarm had set off inside the building.
What...?
Suddenly, droplets of unknown liquid began to fall down on us like rain. It wasn't water. It was rather sticky and smelled quite strange. We were getting covered by it completely.
"What is this...?" Yuu asked.
I took my arm close to my face, inspecting weird substance on us. When I was finally able to sniff it out thoroughly, I realized what it was.
Oil...
Gas...
My eyes screamed wide open, and I instantly looked at Ferid with my heartbeat pounding ever so loudly. No... he can't be thinking of doing something crazy...
"MIKA!" Yuu shouted with a loud voice that I was urged to set my eyes on Ferid and face reality.
On Ferid's hand was lit up lighter, and a smile that told it no longer fears death... that it wasn't going to care about life evaporating into nothingness. It just wanted everything to be destroyed.
"Don't do it!" I shouted at him as I tried my best to stop him. But as I moved, Ferid had decided to move as well. His hand stretched open, dropping the light into the now-oily-ground and setting the world on fire.
"Goodnight, Mikaela."
