Yuu's POV "I'm Ferid Bathory." More like Ferid Bastard-ry! I was shocked to the core to see the long-haired man from ten years ago. He was standing proudly in front of us, well and alive. There were no traces of wounds, scars or any remains from what had happened before. It was like he was unscratched, untouched and completely washed clean. His eyes grew brightly when he had caught sight of me, and it seemed like his lips had curved into a devilish smile for a moment. I wasn't sure really. I might have just imagined it. "I've been looking forward to meeting Crowley's nephew since I heard about you so much from him." Ferid gave a smile that sent goosebumps all over my skin. And no, it wasn't the good kind. Crowley gaped as he stared at Mika, making me aware of the hint of concern on his face, "Mika, are you feeling alright?" Mika's back leaned on me making me hold him by the arm, "Mika? What's wrong?" When I saw his face, I instantly felt my heart racing. Mika's skin was as pale as death, he was breathing profusely, and his lips were trembling greatly. "I have to get him somewhere...!" My eyes turned from left to right, inspecting the area for a place to let Mika rest. Mika held on to his temples, gripping them tightly as his breath trembled, "Fire...f-fire..." "Fire...? Wait... Sit down for a sec, Mika." Holding him by the arm, I settled Mika down on one chair near the party tables. "Hm? Is something a matter?" Ferid looked at Mika intently, an evil smile appearing on his pompous face, "You look a little... burned out." My temperature rose to a boiling point, my fists clenching tight. What the hell? Burned out, because he let Mika be drowned in flames years ago?! This damn bastard! What Ferid had said made my patience snap, and I wasn't letting him get away with it. He was the reason Mika and I were separated years ago. There was no way I would let him stomp us with his cruel words. "Shut up!" I scowled as I jumped at him with my rock hard fists. My hand hit him on the cheek, leaving a fiery red mark on his skin. Ferid stepped backward, his hand holding his cheek and eyes averting from us. I was about to send in another punch, but Mika's uncle, Crowley, had suddenly yanked me by the arm. With a smile, he spoke, "I'm sorry. I don't think this party needs someone hitting our guests." "Wha?!" I gaped. As Crowley snapped his fingers, two women in white had arrived. One was small in build and had lavender hair, and the other had two large... drills on her hair. "Chess, Horn, would you both be so kind and escort our lovely unwanted guests to the door?" He smiled at them. "Gotcha!" The smaller lady did a salute before swooping my arm and locked it with hers. "Huh?!" I looked at her. Just before I could do anything else, the other lady took my other arm and locked it with her tightly. "Please be quiet. It's bad enough with how you disturbed the party." She said with a calm and soothing voice. I struggled from their hold but it rendered to be useless, the two had me locked tightly. I yelled, "Hey! Let go of me!" The two had begun to drag me away from the party while I continually struggled. I turned my head to see Mika who was still heavily breathing and pale as death. "Mika!" I shouted. Crowley waved his hand at me with a smile. I couldn't anything more than that for the two women had taken me outside. When we reached the door, they threw me off, making me roll down to the ground. The smaller girl clasped her hands together as if she were wiping the dust off, "Phew. You're a feisty one." "Let's go back." The other one said. They both slowly went in, and I rushed to get up so I could still go back. But as I reached the entrance, they slammed the door on my face. I banged on the door and yelled, "Let me in! I want to see Mika!" But unfortunately, there was no answer from the door. I tried opening it but it was locked as well. There was no hope for me to see him. I ended up going home when Shinoa had seen me on the street and called Guren. He didn't let me stay out. I wanted to go so badly... Mika was still suffering in the party, and no one would be there to help him. I doubt his uncle would even take care of the guy. My room was completely dark because I decided to let the lights rest. Plus the darkness helped me think. I grabbed my phone and dialed Mika's digits. His phone rang, and it made my chest feel just a little bit lighter. Mika... please pick up. Riiing Riiing Riiiing The number you have dialed is currently unavailable. Please try your call later. Darn it. I put in dial again. Riiiiiing Riiiiing Riiiiiing The number you have dialed is currently unavailable. Please try your call later. No, I won't give up! I redialed Mika's number over and over, and each time I did, I kept getting the same message. Nobody picked up. A heavy breath escaped my lips as I put down the phone on the table beside my bed. Mika... what happened to you...? "Oi. Where do you think you were?" Guren had suddenly entered my room. I gave him a look, "Nothing. I was just there with Mika..." "Mika?" Guren crossed his arms, "Wasn't he that kid that was with you ten years ago?" "Yes!" I ran to Guren and grabbed his shirt, "You gotta believe me, Guren! I have to see him!" Guren swiped my hands off of him, "What do you want me to do? We can't just barge in there like we're big shots." The energy in my arms died out as they fell down back in place. My head as well looked downwards in defeat. Then when I thought that all the negativity would consume me, Guren placed his hand on my head. Ever since I was a kid, he'd always do that to make me feel better, and somehow it works every time. "Alright... tell me the whole story." ------ Mika's POV I woke up to find myself enveloped in darkness. It was hot and sweat was pouring out from my skin like rain. I had been lying down on my bed, silence being my only friend. Sitting up, I looked around me and wiped my forehead. How did I end up here? I was just at the party with Yuu... then everything went dark. How long was out even? I checked my pockets to find my phone and looked at its screen. The time was eleven thirty in the evening. It was already that late?! When I clicked on my phone, it showed a number of messages and missed calls. All of them were from Yuu. He kept asking me how I was doing and where I was... I swallowed, slightly shuddering as I felt a shock of excitement run through me. Yuu's messages had made me really happy that my heart was bouncing around. Raising my hand, I touched my lips, feeling it with my fingers. The other day, I was embracing Yuu with a kiss. It was my first time too. Time seemed to have stopped when it happened, we were both in our own world. If only my uncle hadn't come back. Then maybe I could have felt Yuu's lips more... There's something about him that makes me feel so attached. That I could never leave him. And I... I don't usually smile, but when it came to him, it was so easy. Maybe I should send a message. Typing away, I decided to send Yuu a message, apologizing about blacking out and asking him what really happened. Man... I really suck at remembering things. As I pressed send, I realized that sending a simple message wouldn't be enough to make up for whatever happened. So I dialed his number. After a few rings, Yuu picked up the phone with a loud voice, "Mika?! How are you? Where are you? Are you feeling okay?" It was like he was panicking. Yuu worrying over me felt so ticklish that I couldn't stop myself from laughing a bit, "I'm okay. What happened?" "Mika... that's not important right now. I'm just worried if you're okay or not. Do you feel dizzy? Is it hard for you to breath?" Yuu rambled on. "I'm okay--..." I sighed with a smile. Suddenly, the door clicked open, and light soon illuminated my room. Hastily, I covered my eyes so I could at least not feel the sting of the brightness. I heard footsteps of someone entering the room and closing the door shut. "Whoops. My bad~" The voice was something I didn't usually hear, but somewhere deep in me, it was very familiar. "Mika?! Who's that? Is that--..." Yuu asked profusely. I took my hand out of my eyes, seeing the person before me. When I saw his face, both my jaw and my hand dropped, making the phone fall on my bed. With his lavender hair wrapped in a ponytail and ruby colored eyes, he smiled devilish at me, "Hello, my little Mika. It's been years." My entire body trembled, feeling pain in my head and chest when different images flashed on my mind rapidly. I saw a lot of things. This man... there was something about him that related to ice cream, constant visits, and entertaining me with lots of gifts. Then I... I was in a van, and then I was trapped... in a dark place I didn't know. Then I tried my best to escape. I was running... I fell on the ground with dirt all over me... then a weird smell... a smell that I shouldn't forget... that I shouldn't have disregarded...? An explosion... fire... There was so much fire... That was when everything went black. The next thing I saw was a bright white light and a beeping sound. Out of nowhere, I suddenly felt a stab in my chest. A huge, hard, and painful stab as if there was a missing piece that had returned to my broken self. My brows furrowed, eyes stinging as I felt water form in them, and breath shuddering. I swallowed hard, my throat drying up like a desert. "...F-Ferid. It's you." I said. The dirty smile that the long-haired man had on his face seemed to have grown as I mentioned his name. "So you do remember me." He took steps slowly towards me. I moved backward on my bed, doing my best to put a distance between us. "H-how are you alive?" I asked, my chest racing fast. "There was a fire! You shouldn't be alive!" His head slightly raised, making it look like he was looking down on me like I was dirt, "Silly little Mika. Aren't you alive yourself?" Ferid took another step forward as I shuffled backward. My back hit the wall, making me look at it and then back at Ferid. I had nowhere more to run. I gritted my teeth, fists forming on my palms, " Who the hell are you? What... what were you planning to do to me years ago?" "You still haven't figured it out?" His head tilted slightly on one side, then a chuckle escaped his lips, "Well, I guess you did lose your memories, and you were such a dumb brat at the time, so I'll let this pass." Ferid had not changed his years ago. I remember it all clearly now. That sarcastic attitude, trying to sound sweet with his bitter words. He was the man who tricked me to do it all. Frustration washed over me, not wanting to hear what more Ferid had to say. "Did you ever hear things about rich nobles wanting to have children as their slaves for who-knows-what reasons? A lot of them didn't want to get their hands dirty. So I did it for them." Ferid said with a smile. "What?!" I scowled. He laughed maniacally with his shoulders moving, "These nobles paid high and well. They were very loyal to payments too. So I became an entrepreneur for children slaves!" "You f*****g bastard!" I stood up on my bed, rage growing in me. My fists were tightly closed, "Don't you dare touch another kid with those filthy hands ever again!" "Oh? And who's going to stop me, you?" He said in a mocking manner. I jumped towards him, hitting him hard on the face. Both of us fell down on the floor, me on top of him. Trying to make a bruise on his face, I charged my fist at him again. But this time though, I wasn't able to get a hit because Ferid had caught my wrist with his hand. "Damn it!" I cussed as I looked at my hand being caught. Then my other hand was held by Ferid. I looked left and right at my hands, I was captured. Ferid still had a smile on his face, this time it was full of malice. "Still stupid as ever, little Mika!" With strength, Ferid had flipped our positions over. He pushed me down on the floor, pushing both of my arms down and pinning me. Sweat formed at my forehead, my breath shaking from the adrenaline rush. "I am so glad I met you again, Mika. You were the first to ever attempted to escape and almost did." He smiled like the devil, "Something about you seems so special, you know. I mean, you did set me on fire." A chuckle escaping out of his lips, "I think I'll keep you for myself..." "Huh?" I gaped, afraid of the way he spoke. His smiled toned down into his usual one, and his voice lowered as if he was whispering to me, "...and this time, I won't let you get away."
