It's the end of the week, exactly seven days until the Mating Ball. Today, Melanie and I are making cuts. Since it's the first week of training, we’re focused on weeding out recruits who are dead weight, with no chance in hell of making it. And I'm secretly hoping I can add Malcom Grey to that list.
I walk around with a clipboard, looking at Melanie's notes of each warrior as they pair up and spar. Some of them actually impress me, and I can see others still struggling, but according to Mel, they have made improvements from the beginning of the week. Bliss decided to come after all, and from her performance, I can already tell she's going to be a great warrior.
