Chapter Fourteen An ambulance had arrived, and Billy Jo stood with her arms pulled across her chest, watching as the body, now in a body bag, was loaded onto a stretcher. The coroner was walking to his blue sedan, and the chief was still standing there with Bev, who had finally stopped crying. “Bev, you can’t stay here,” he said. “Come on, I’ll take you to our house.
