Blurb

Growing up, Ava Blackwood knew nothing but rejection. As the wolf-less illegitimate daughter of Alpha Damien, she was treated as an embarrassment by the family she desperately wanted to belong to.

When the feared Blood-Fang Tribe arrives to collect an old debt left behind by their late Alpha, Ava is demanded as payment and handed over without hesitation. Certain she has been discarded because she is worthless, she prepares herself for another life of cruelty beneath the ruthless Alpha Alaric Draven.

Instead, Ava finds herself surrounded by a tribe that is not as monstrous as the stories claimed, a cold Alpha whose actions rarely match his reputation, and a growing web of secrets tied to her late mother’s past.

As mysterious changes awaken within her, her crescent moon tattoo begins reacting to forces she cannot explain, an old journal reveals fragments of a buried truth, and whispers from a forgotten past refuse to stay silent.

But some pasts were meant to be hidden for a reason, can Ava survive the power of the dark past hidden within her? Or will she crumble?

Chapter1.“You sold me?”
Ava’s POV “Ava” My father’s voice pierced through the crowd as they all turned towards me. “Step forward” he demanded and I nodded as I approached him slowly, my palms going sweaty as I felt hundreds of eyes watching me. Tonight was a full moon and the pack members had gathered in the courtyard to watch the young pups shift into their wolf form, It was also the night I dreaded the most. “The Moon Claw Clan has no place for weakness in its ranks,” he paused as he looked around before locking eyes with me. “And today, that weakness will no longer be our concern” He continued and something in me shifted. “Ava Blackwood, you are no longer a member of this pack”. As the words left my father’s mouth the crowd erupted in murmurs. “No longer a member is she banished?” “Finally I was getting tired of seeing her omega face” “She doesn’t deserve to be in the pack she’s worthless” Their words hurt more than it should have, but that was the least of the pain I felt. I glanced back at my father, searching, waiting, praying for him to just say this was a misunderstanding and that he had not just abandoned me but nothing changed in his expression. “Silence” Alpha Damien demanded and the murmurs instantly ceased. His eyes found mine as he looked at me with disgust. “From today henceforth the Blood-Fang tribe has come to claim you” At the mention of that tribes name I wished the earth could open up and swallow me whole. The Blood-Fang tribe was known for its brutality towards its members, it was the most feared clan in the whole of Valeria and now I was being sent there. “Y…..You sold me?” I asked as I choked back on tears. “Urgh! Please don’t act so surprised, it’s not like you are useful in this pack anyway” Alina said as she crossed her hands on her chest. “That’s enough Alina” Darius my elder brother said as he looked at me. “You should be grateful you are being sold and not being exiled, you are filth either way” He said and it felt like a knife twisted deep into my chest. “Guards” my father called as two hefty men held me at each arm. “Take her away the Blood Fang will be here soon”. He said as he dismissed me. “Dad please,” I screamed as I tried to struggle against their grip. “ I will do better please, I’m begging you don’t do this” I screamed as the tears I tried to hold back rushed down my face but he ignored me. My father, Alina and Darius all turned their backs on me as they walked out of the court yard. Immediately they left, the once quiet pack resumed their murmurs as they rained insults on me. “Finally, I hope you die there” “Took Alpha Damien too long to get rid of this nuisance” Their words sounded like a whisper in my ears as the guards dragged me outside, I couldn’t find it in me to react to them I just stayed silent as the sound of my heart beating got louder. “Get your stuff” one of the guard said as he threw me into the cramped space I was living in. “Ava” Maid Thalia voice called as she ran towards me and hugged me. Maid Thalia was the only person who cared about me in the moon claw clan and it hurt for her to see me like this. “You are going to be fine, okay” she said as tears rolled down her eyes, but I shook my head slightly as I stared at her. “I’m not but it’s fine” I said back as I pulled away from her. “No don’t say that, it’s going to be okay” she said back as she wiped my tears. “Here, I want you to have this” she said as she handed me a washed out book. “What is this?” I asked as I took it from her. “Your mothers journal, only open it when the time is right” she said as she smiled at me. “How am I suppose to know when the time is right?” I asked her but before she could reply the guard from before burst into the room as he grabbed me by the arm. “Enough, let’s go” he said as he dragged me away from maid Thalia, from the corner of my eyes, I could see her sobbing as she nodded her head towards me. “She’s ready” the guard said as he threw me into the wooden sledge before binding my wrists tight with silver chains. “Please….” I cried out as the silver seeped into my skin. “Shut up” the other guard said as he hit me in the stomach causing me to cough out blood. “Be careful with that one, we don’t want issues with Alpha Alaric” the other guard said as they dragged me away. I stared back at the gates of the moon claw clan as rage surged through me. I’m going to make them pay for what they did to me, I thought as the forest stretched further into the darkness…. **** After what felt like forever, the wooden sledge finally stopped moving. “Get down” one of the guards said as he dragged me out of the sledge. My eyes came in contact with the tall iron gates, the words ‘Blood Fang Tribe’ engraved in the middle with sharp red coloring. I took in a deep breath as the guard pushed me forward. “The Moon Claw Clan has delivered the wolf-less omega” he said and the gates opened wide in front of us. I felt my chest tighten as beads of sweat formed on my forehead, I instinctively moved backwards but the other guard pushed me forward, making me lose my balance as I fell on the floor, the rough pavement scratching against my skin as a loud cry escaped my lips. The pain surged through my whole body, as the other guard pulled me up. “Shut up” he said as he slapped me across the face, making my head tilt backwards as the sting of the slap lingered on my cheek. “That’s enough now, don’t you think?” A voice called out as a man in his late 20’s walked up to us. “You look pretty beaten up” the guy said as he stared at me. I tried looking up but I could barely see his face as my eyes were blurry from the pain of the slap. He leaned closer towards me as he whispered into my ears. “Welcome to the pack Ava”. He said as a smirk curved at his lips. Before I could say anything else I felt a sharp pain surge through me again and then everything went black…..
