- DAMIEN -
“So what's it going to be, me or them?” I whispered, breathing down her neck.
Her lips parted, and she said, “Neither."
A thrust hit my groin. I tripped back immediately. Her hands threw me aside, and she fled, disappearing into the forest.
The guards came from behind me almost immediately.
“Lycan King Night" they bowed.
“Forget the courtesies and run after her!" I yelled at them, a hand on my groin. Damn it, she hits harder than she kisses.
But for some reason, that thought simply excited me. I found a seat and nursed my sore self, the thought of her face playing in my mind.
Suddenly, I wanted to hear her voice again. Well, that will be later. I had pressing matters to attend to.
I rose to my feet. I would return to that council and settle some scores.
*********
“Beta!!!!" I kicked the door open and burst into the room.
He ran, but I was faster, grabbing him by the collar. I smashed him on the ground, stepping on his head.
“Lycan King Night, please forgive me. I was acting on orders, I swear.”
I put a hand in my ear and wiped it." I can't hear you.” I.
"Lycan King Night, please forgive me!!!!! I was ordered by the council, I swear.”
I waved my head in disgust. Weak and disloyal. What a waste of a beta.
It
“Alright, Beta led the way.” He crawled away and hurried off, and I followed him.
He was traipsing, his steps getting slower by the minute. We were nearing a corner on the palace grounds, and he ran away.
I smiled. 'Fool'
My wolf took over immediately and chased after him, claws driving into his back and dragging him back to the ground.
The wolf's council hearing the growling noises ran out. They stopped me from tearing him apart.
“How dare you try to murder the beta of the king. Is it because he is dead?” The chief wolf yelled at me.
I turned back to human form. Anger spread across my face. “Your beta is working for one of my enemies. Since I cannot get rid of him, then do it for me." I threw the wounded beta at them.
“See you all in the conference room." I left the place.
Many of the members of council joined me, including the wild chief. The conference room was filled immediately.
I sat looking at all of them. The wolf chief spoke, he knew well not to keep me waiting.
“We thank you for helping us find the mole.”
I cringed at this hypocrisy.
"How is the hunt for the girl faring?”
"I didn't know I was too busy bleeding away in the forest," I said sardonically.
"That is not what the report said.”
My head was bent like I was asleep until he said that. I raised my face and gave him a long look.
“Interesting. And what did the reports say?" My deep voice echoed through the room.
He adjusted a little. “Reports said you found the girl and were with her, but she slipped you.”
I raised a brow. 'She slipped me? Only one girl was in my presence today.’
A sinister smile crept up my lips.
The murderer is also the witch who healed me. How exciting.
“Did your men catch this escaping lady?"
“They did."
“Bring her to me." I rose to leave.
“I am afraid not. We agreed that we would grant her to you if you found her, but you didn't.”
I exhaled. No need to banter words with an old wolf.
“I won't keep worthless things, but I can play with them. Do you have any objections?" I gave the wolf chief a side glance. I could see sweat trickling into his clothes.
“Well, we cannot object to…”
"Don't keep me waiting.” my words abruptly interrupted him, as I made my way out of the room.

- HARPER -
They tossed me into the room and shut the door. I rushed to it, banging on the wood.
“Let me out, please. Please let me know if I did not think wrong. I did not kill him. I swear, please let me out! Please.” My last cry drowned in my tears.
At that moment, I regretted saving that man. If I didn't, they would never have found me. Well, it's not like regret will change anything at this point.
I hugged my knees on the floor, crying.
"You are a very noisy girl." A voice came in the dark. I flinched, standing up immediately.
“Who is there? Who are you?" I wiped my tears. None of them was going to see me weak.
“You have some guts. Killing your alpha. I have to admit, I wondered too how it would be possible until you healed a giant cut wound with a kiss. You're just someone that uses dark magic, you are a witch.”
Sweat trickled down my back. I recognize him now, although we were still in the dark. He was the man I saved in the forest and that's actually why I regret saving him. He had the judgment tattoo on his back. It was after I healed him that I realized he was the one sent to kill me.
“No, I am not. I just have some powers, that's all. I didn't even know they worked so well and I.. I am just an omega. I could never kill the Alpha, please believe me.” I begged.
There was silence, except for the sound of my beating heart.
“Prove it. Prove your innocence.”
My knees felt weak, and suddenly the darkness blurred for a moment. I thought I would faint. His question. I had no answer to it and I needed no soothsayer to tell me. I just flopped to the only chance of survival.
My lips spoke as I opened my mouth. I was surprised that I could still say “I don't know. All I knew was that the alpha turned out to be my mate, but he rejected me. I slept that night and the next day, I was framed for murder. No one believed me when I said I was innocent, I had to flee and save my life.”
I covered my mouth to suppress my sobs. The room lit up immediately. I winced at the bright light and then slowly opened my eyes.
On the bed in the room, a handsome man sat in shorts and a long robe, his abs completely unconcealed.
He wore no smile and there was a scar on his abdomen.
He pinned my eyes with his auburn gaze and I forgot to breathe.
“What? You have touched it before, it makes no difference seeing it now.”
My cheeks reddened. I cupped my face immediately.
‘Harper, hold yourself. Stop blushing in the face of death. My wolf scolded me.
'It's not me who found death to be so hot.’
“What's your name?" His words cut into my thoughts.
“Harper,” it came almost as a whisper.
“Stupid name."
I suppressed a scoff.
"Red, do you know no one is going to believe your story?”
'Red. Who's Red? Wait, is he talking to me? Never mind, I will just answer'
“I know but I am willing to try. I have to save myself."
"So how do you intend to do that?”
I looked around the room as if the answer was there. Wait…
“Why are you asking me this? Are you not supposed to be my judge?”
"I am… a judge. Whether I help to kill or vindicate depends on the accused."
“Are you saying you will help?" Doubt answered my question.
“Perhaps?" He left the bed, turning his back on me.
'Don't look at his ass' my wolf yelled at me.
'I am not going to.' I kept my eyes on the floor.
“Why are you doing this?"
I heard the sound of tea pouring into a cup. He took a sip.
“Let's say murders don't save people. Murders are also not skinny and weak and…” he took another look at me. "Curvy.”
I felt shocked that my heart skipped a beat. Wait, he is proving my innocence.
I went on my knees immediately.
“Thank you. Thank you so much. I will help you in any way. I will do anything as long as you help me.”
"Anything?" He kept a plain face but the smile he gave me sent shivers running down my spine. I knew immediately I was going to regret it.
“I am the Lycan King Damien Night. What could you possibly give me?”
I suddenly began to draw circles on the ground, shyness washing over me. But I was kind of glad he said that. My happiness, however, was short-lived.
“There is one thing you can give me.” I heard the bed creak. He sat down again. I kept my eyes on the ground.
“What you did in the forest, do it again. Kiss me again.”
I put it down on my lips, I was burning up inside, and I knew it was not fear.
“You only have a minute to think about it.”
I knew immediately that he wasn't going to say anything again. I tightened my fist, the burning sensation getting worse in between my legs.
At that moment, I knew I was not shy anymore, I was afraid that I might lose control. I know what I felt when I healed him. It could be ordered now but, do I have an option?
“Is this the only thing I need to do?"
He did not reply. Damnit.
"Can I turn off the lights?”
“Just snap your fingers.”
I gulped, he was prepared for everything.
My legs moved, my head rose. I held his auburn gaze with my blue eyes. Before I knew it, I was right in front of him.
*Kpa* the lights went off, and I kissed him.
He responded, and he kissed me back. Firm hands grabbing my arms. My body was brought down to the bed, my Bosom resting on his chest.
He whispered, “Harper, your lips taste like wine. I want to get drunk.”
