A Warrior For A Mate

Today is the long awaited day. As you all know it's princess and Nathan's big day and mom has gone all out to make it a blast and talk of the city. After thinking of what to get for princess, I finally knew what to buy and to make her big day memorable. The time came and guest starting coming so I tried as much as possible to complete the suprise I have for princess before taking my bath, dressing up and going downstairs.

"I came down a little late when mom and Nathan had already made their speech. I was about to grab a glass of white wine from one of the waiter's tray when the lights suddenly went off and dimmer ones were switched on. There was a bright light focused on the stairs and a song began playing when the one I've wanting to see began descending the stairs and I swear to God at that moment my world stopped for awhile. She has always been beautiful but tonight she was more gorgeous like gorgeously beautiful and everyone was engrossed in her beauty the same way I was which got me a little pissed and the shocking thing was Nathan was no different cuz I bet he was mesmerised by her beauty. I saw her searching through the crowd and I knew she was looking for me but the position where I was, was hidden so she couldn't see me and couple with the fact that it was dark.

"She reached down and met mom and dad on the stage as she gave her own little speech. I was still looking at her when she walked to Mike who later took her outside. I followed and saw him putting a necklace round her neck which gained him a hug from her and that got me pissed as I clenched my fist wishing I could give him a punch on the face. I left going back inside to be met by a girl from Nathan's group. Sorry I do not know her name.

"Hi Carl she greeted.

"Hi you are?

"I'm Jane a friend of Nathan's she replied.

"Okay i replied about to leave when she held me back and I gave the "What the hell look"

"I'm sorry but can I have a word with you please. .

"Okay I'm listening.

"Okay i will get straight to the point. I like you and I would like to get to know you more.

"Wao I most say I admire you courage but do you think I will wanna make friends with someone like you miss Jane??

"Why not? I'm beautiful, intelligent and smart I boasted.

"I left her and headed to the wine bar grabbing a glass and gulped it in one go because I was still pissed. I was heading to my room and almost at the last stair when I noticed some guy giving princess a present which she gave him quick hug guess the reason was because she was happy but what shocked me the most is the fact that the person is one of Nathan's friends Claude. Can't she attract less people come on we are already three not to talk of the ones who haven't approached her yet damn. I changed my mind and got into her room waiting for her and finally after the long wait, she is here though startled by my unannounced presence. We almost got into a fight but thank God I restrained myself and pull her with me into my secret room where I had organised her suprise. She was excited about the decorations, the gifts in fact everything which made me happier because I was not sure she will like my suprise for her. I played a song and asked her for a dance which she said yes to.

"Did I tell you you are the most beautiful woman at your party tonight I whisper in her ear.

"You just did she responded smiling.

"I want you to always be happy like the way you are tonight princess. I can't guarantee I won't make you angry but when that time eventually comes please do forgive this stupid guy okay....

"You are so emotional right but I promise I will she replied giggling.

"So any gift from Nathan I asked.

"Not a word from him not talk about a gift but I do not care she replied nonchalantly.

"I wish this moment will never stop Kate because tomorrow begins a new chapter in your life and I do not know if I will have the chance to be with you alone like this in the future I told her with a lot of uncertainty in my voice.

"What do you mean Carl? I do not understand she said.

"You are at the right age and by tomorrow you will find the one destined for you princess. You know how possessive a mate can be right. ....I told her.

"So are you saying you won't spend time with me like before if I find my mate? She asked.

"Yes that's what I mean because he is going cut off my head for being close to his mate I replied.

"She stop dancing pulling me to the sofa and asked me to sit as she did same while staring deep into my soul and I could feel my baby twitch down there so I knew if I do not divert my attention I will do something we will both regret because now I could feel my wolf trying to connect with hers Which is strange.

"If you do not stop staring at me like that princess I will lose control I manged to speak out huskily and she immediately diverted her gaze shyly and I can tell she was feeling the connection and tension between us.

"Sorry about that she apologised shyly.

"It's fine princess you do not need to apologise I sincerely told her caressing her hair.

"I do not want you to stay away from me Carl. I've become so attached to you that I can't stay away from you for long she told me.

"Then I guess I will constantly get into fights because of that I replied jokingly and we both laughed.

"I'm sorry for hiding the real me from you Carl but trust me it is not because I do not trust you but because I didn't know how to tell you she said.

"I understand princess and I'm sorry for over reacting too okay i apologised.

"Apology accepted. Found your mate ? She suddenly asked.

"Not yet princess I replied. How I'm I going to tell her me finding my mate is not the same as her procedures....Guess that will be topic for another day.

"Wao guess you won't be the only one in constant fights cuz your mate won't spare me either she joked and we laughed.

"I poured her a glass of red wine. Yeah she so loves red wine and I poured myself too as we continued our little chit chats about anything and everything.

"I saw you talking to Claude I stated.

"Yea I was suprise but I was more suprise when he gifted me a birthday gift she replied smiling.

"Yea to the point where you hugged him I stated jealously.

"About that, it was my emotions kicking in. He is a nice guy Carl and the only one amongst Nathan's friends who doesn't treat me bad or insults me she replied and for some reason I didn't know what to say yea the jealousy was still eating me up.

"Carl are you okay? She asked.

"I stood up from where we were sitting and strolled towards the little window staring at the sky with many things running through my mind like how can I make her mine, will her bond with her mate make her less drawn to me?? She said she doesn't want to be apart from me yes but the mate bond is so strong that it will definitely make her conscious each time she will be with me. She will always want to be around her mate and she will not want body contact with me not when i can barely keep my hands off her body and a lot of other things damn how do I take away my brother's mate without being called a betrayer how ?

"Are you okay? She asked startling me as she stands by my side.

"I'm just having a lot on my plate princess I replied looking at her a little sad.

"Today is my day so can you forget everything and just concentrate on me just for tonight please she begged and that turned me on cuz her voice was damn so sexy right now I guess it's due to the alcohol.

"I know you overheard my conversation with Nathan that's why you got mad at me right. ....but I had to lie princess because it will be complicated if I admit I have romantic feelings for you when you aren't my mate i told her.

"She was silent for a while before getting up, putting on her clothes, grabbing her gift and was about leaving but I grabbed her. Why is she now angry I do not understand women sometimes.

"Why are you leaving? I asked.

I know I love her but the reason I was unable to say it is something i do not know. Go after her you moron devil scolded so I got dressed and went after her.

"I met her half way to her room and grab her but she turned slapping me hard across the face damn that stinked bad. I know what she is thinking but I was till unable to clarified it because I felt people were watching us. I say people because I could feel Nathan's presence with an unknown presence lurking around so I had to be careful reason I still didn't say a word.

"Stay away from me she stated furiously.

"No buts I need space and time Carl please she pleaded then stormed of going to her room.

"After she had gotten into her room, I said something that I know if she heard it, it will break her the more " Find do what you want by the way who cares about you." I had to do it because the other presence I felt was a dark shadow and I do not know it's mission here. The enemy will always lurk around to find your weakness to use it against you.

"Well well well that was a good show bro. Does it hurt? Nathan mockingly asked.

"Mind your business Nate I replied nonchalantly.

"So what did you do this time to make your princess hit you Nate insisted.

"Just don't sweat it can you??

"I thought she was the one person you care the most about in this world? Nathan asked smirking.

"Mom is the only woman I care about the most in this world i replied sternly.

"So what is it you do feel for kate? He asked again.

"Pity and nothing esle besides I have a mate so there is nothing to feel for Kate except pity I replied dryly.

"Ooh poor Kate and I did tell her but she wouldn't believe me. Any ways I found the girl I told about Nate stated.

"What girl Nate? I asked.

"The one I met in the forest remember he stated and I got lost because I know that werewolve is Kate so how come someone esle is claiming to be her.

"What's her name again? ? I asked.

"Lilian and bro she is dead gorgeous he stated dreamingly.

"Nate do not mate another for tomorrow you will know who your true mate is I warned him sternly.

"If my mate is not as strong as Lilian, I will reject her and mate with Lilian he stated seriously.

"Nate dad will never allow you do that by the way you told me.she said she is already mated. I asked.

"She said it was just to get me off her back at that moment he replied and there i know something was off.

"You wouldn't dare do that to your chosen mate I stated furiously.

"Why are you getting work up over it Carl? ? if you do feel sorry for her then when I do reject her, you can make her your mate he replied sarcastically.

"Nate....I growled startling him.

"Wooh wooh wooh take it easy bro I'm leaving goodnight.

He left laughing but my blood was boiling so I needed to hit someone or something to cool off but I remembered I was actually misleading someone so I stood still but I couldn't feel the man in the shadow meaning he left and I just smiled because he just got the wrong information. I got into my room took my bath and laid on my bed thinking if they are here because they already found out I exist or if it's because of Nathan soon becoming the Alpha. I will need to tell dad about this so we can secure the palace with a spell to restrick witches and shadow spirit from getting in. I'm sorry princess but I had to do this to keep us safe.
