What do you mean you quit your job Leila I thought you liked it there" "I did like it Jules but James said that I was getting too much attention from the men there so he told me to quit and that his job could provide for the both of us" I know that my friend think that James is an overbearing jerk but I think he's just being protective. He says that loves me so much that he doesn't want me stressing myself with long hours in the office not that I mind working. "Leila what would happen if James were to divorce you then what you've got no money other than the little he gives you" " he wouldn't leave" I mumble and distract myself with something else other that Jules' words. Part of me wants to listen to her and do something worthwhile with my life but the part that wants to be submissive to James always wins. James owns a company that I helped build up from scratch with my family connection and my gift of accounting but immediately it started doing well he told me to work in the background and he'll provide me with everything I need. I graduated with honors and my parents thought I would join the company and work towards being the CEO since my older brother decided to pursue art instead but I disappointed them when I told them to hire Jules as the finance manager in my stead. I chose James over them and even if they supported my decision, I could tell they were and still are very disappointed in me. I moved to a different state to help James and haven't even visited them since the wedding that they tried to talk me out of. I'm not proud of it but James is always too busy to accompany me and says it would only increase the disdainmy parents had for him if he didn't come along. James has always been the love of my life since I met him in junior year. He promised that we would get kids as soon as he makes a name for himself and its been almost three years since we got married and I'm still waiting. I have tried to conceive but I've not been successful yet the doctor told me I was absolutely fine. This was not how I imagined my life would be; I thought that after we got the company to its feet we would run it together and get married afterwards by now we would be welcoming our first child just as we planned in high school here I was after quitting my job in another company because he didn't like it. "Leila are you even listening to me" Jules voice snaps me out of my thoughts and I simply nod. We head home earlier than I had expected and thought I'd cook James a homemade meal since its just around the time he normally gets home on a Friday evening. Jules hugs me goodbye and tells me to think long and hard about our talk. "You still have time to do something with your life Leila. Call me alright I'll be around all week" We say our goodbyes and I enter the house.
