The Count woke up alone the next morning, which was unusual. They tried not to flaunt it in front of Mom. While she didn’t put up a fight against it, she wasn’t thrilled with Bruno and his nocturnal activities.
Most nights Bruno snuck into his room, or he snuck into hers. Sometimes with Bruno or Neri in too, if one of them was spending the night with them.
But he had gone to be alone after his disastrous date with Norma. He wasn’t sure if he was happy or not that Bruno had gone along with his request for some alone time.
He got back from my morning run to find her at the table eating with Norma, who decided she was done eating the moment he walked into the room.
