Millicent's POV "Okay, guys we're ready to open." I announced "Beth flip the signage to we're open." Beth quickly obligate and walk towards the glass door and turned the signage to we're open. She smile at me while walking back to her assigned place. I took a deep to relax my self. This is it, i'm making my dreams come true. I waited long for this to happen. As i was checking my phone to see if Lola messages me. The bell chimes as the glass door open. I heard Mary greeted the customer. I quickly put my phone back in my pocket. "Good morning!" I greet as i slowly gaze on the customer's face I gasped as i stare at her face. I smile as she spread her arm open. I get out from the counter and hug her tight. "My god, how are you?!" I asked her with excitement in my voice "Ganun parin, masaya din dahil bumalik ka na." She answered "I was gonna visit you later. Alam ko naman na busy ka din sa trabaho mo." "Ngayon mo lang naisipan na bisitahin ako. Ang tagal-tagal mo nang bumalik dito." Sabi niya at umaarteng nagtatampo sa akin "Sorry, ang daming kasi kailangan gawin bago nabuksan 'tong cafe Plano ko naman talaga pumunta sayo kaso palagi kong nakakalimutan." "Alam ko kaya ako na ang pumunta ngayon dito sayo. I even posted your cafe on my social media. Para malaman naman ng iba mong customer noon." Sabi niya na may ngiti "Miss ko na iyong brownies na binebake mo noon." Dagdag niya "Oh, i didn't bake the brownies. John did but he followed my recipe so it should still taste the same." I said i walked back behind the counter. "So, what should i get you for today?" "The brownies and black coffee." She replied "Okay, you can sit on any table you like. I'll it deliver it you. We can talk after i prepare your order." As i said as input her order to the computer I left my station to prepare for Elizabeth's order. After i finished preparing her order i went to Beth. "Beth ikaw muna dito. Wala pa naman masyadong tao. I'll help pagkatapos ko kausapin si Elizabeth." Beth nodded as my eyes search the whole cafe until i saw Elizabeth near the window. I walked toward her. "Here's your order Ma'am." I said it with a playful tone as i place her order on the table. As i take my seat at the chair across her. She quickly picked up the spoon and taste the brownies. A frown registered on her face as soon as the brownies went inside her mouth. "Bakit? Pangit ba ang lasa?" I asked her "Masarap iyan, nung tinikman ko kan---." Elizabeth shushed me cutting me off "Marasap naman talaga siya pero hindi kalasa nung sayo." "Thank god, akala kung ano." I said with a relieved on my tone I heard the bell chimes. It stole Elizabeth's attention. "Bakit hindi ikaw nagbake?" Tanong niya sa akin while looking at my back. She looked like she saw a scandalous scene. I ignored her antics and proceeds to answer her question but i think she's not paying me any of her attention. "Oh my god!" She gasped as her right hand points something at my back. "What do you mean oh my god." I said as i face at the direction she's pointing at. A man's standing infront of the cashier. Beth was taking his order. The man's back is facing us. His built look familiar but i ignored it. "What?" I asked Elizabeth as she's shooting me weird stares. "I didn't expect he would come." She answered A realization hit me. I gasped as the thought made me shocked "Oh s**t, you have a date!" I said with a loud voice Elizabeth slapped my arms as she shoot me again with her weird stares. "Sa tingin mo makakahanap pa ako ng time para makipagdate." She said with so much annoyance on her voice "Hindi ko alam kung bakit gulat na gul----" I stop talking as Elizabeth made look at the man at the counter. A realization hits me when the man turns around after ordering. "s**t!" I cursed That's why his back look so familiar earlier. "s**t na s**t talaga. Ang gwapo pa rin ba ni William?" Elizabeth teasing me She poked my side as she waved at the man that made me cursed. She offered the man to sit with us. I throw a warning stares at her but she ignored. She gladly lead William to take the seat beside me. I smiled at William as our gaze met. He smiles back at me but i can tell it's forced. "Never thought you would really check this cafe out William." Elizabeth said with a malicious tone on her voice "My mom heard about who's the owner. She made me come here because she misses her baked goods." William said without throwing me a glance. The bell chimes. Making me have an excuse to walk away from this table. "I think i have to excuse myself. Kailangan ko tulong si Beth at Mary." I said as i stand and made my way to the counter. "Beth, anything i can help with?" I asked her "Ako na po dito Ma'am. Hindi pa naman masyadong madami ang mga customer." "It's okay, i still want to help." I insist "Okay po, ikaw nalang po magbigay nito sa lalaki kanina. Mukhang kakilala din po ninyo." Beth said and takes the order of the new customer. "This is a self serve cafe. He can get his order here" I said I sighed frustratedly as picked up his order and made my way back to Elizabeth's table. She's still talking with Willaim. "Your order." I said and places his order at the table. "Miss mo nga, ang dami eh." Elizabeth teasingly said while staring at William's order. I glared at Elizabeth. "It's for Mom and to my co-worker." William said and glances at me. "Mom would be happy if you pay her a visit." William said and look at me "I will try, if my schedule will allow me. My hands are full managing the cafe and taking care of Lola." He nodded "You can visit later. I think Lola Norah is at the house." He said "She is? She's supposed to be at home resting." I said with abit of annoyance "Well, Mom invited her. You can visit later if you're free. Mom's having a dinner party with Lola Norah." William said as he picked his order up. "Okay." I said as i watch him walking toward the glass door. "Okay as in i'll join you or okay as in pupunta ka para sunduin si Lola Norah." Elizabeth said and stole my attention away from William "I don't know." I said as i blankly stare at the door William just walked through "Now, you just made me curious as to what really is the reason. Why did you break up with him?" "I don't want to talk about it. It's not really important now." I said sternly "You two seem so inlove with each other 4 years ago. Akala ko sa kasalan ang punta niyo noon." Elizabeth commented "Yeah, we did but i think it was for the good of the both of us. I mean i wouldn't be here if i choose to stay with him before. It's good to see that he's also doing great now." I said with a smile on my face After chatting with Elizabeth she bid her goodbyes to me and made me promise to set us both a date for us to catch up. I continue helping my staff with the customer coming at my cafe. It was a great day for the cafe as alot of people came at the opening of my cafe. I didn't expect it to see many familiar face. Most of them are my customer way back when i was selling my baked goods at school. After closing the cafe. I received a call from Lola that she was indeed at William's house. She invited me to join the dinner she prepared with Ma'am Morgan William's Mom. I agreed making her happy and excited. Bringing with me is a carrot cake. I baked earlier after Elizabeth left. I went inside my car and drive to William's house. Where one of the reason we broke up live. It was a short drive to William's House. I take a deep breath before i get out from my car. I can already Lola and Ma'am Morgan standing at the front door. It's like they're waiting for me. Lola smiled at me when our gaze met. "Kamusta hija?" Tanong sa aking ni Lola as i walked towards them "Tired but happy i was busy earlier. Madami pong pumuta sa cafe." I said Lola smiled at me proudly. Napalingon naman ako sa banda ni Ma'am nung tumikhim ito upang kuhanin ang among atensyon. "How are you hija? I'm so glad you accepted my invitation earlier hija. Alam ko naman busy ka ngayon. Pasensya na sa abala." Ma'am Morgan said I forced a smiled at her. "I'm doing great Ma'am Morgan. Thank you po for inviting me." I said "You can visit anytime hija. Just like before." She said with a smile "I don't know about that Ma'am Morgan." I said with so much awakardness in my voice I looked away at her when she stared at me like she's searching for a different answer. She acts like nothing happened. She acts like she's not one of the reason me and her son broke up because of the proposal she offered me before and the blackmailing she did to me. I can't blame her for wanting a better future for her son. "We should head inside. Paparating na din si William. Let's wait for him at the dining table." Ma'am Morgan said to erase the awakardness in the air I nodded at sumunod na sa kanilang dalawa. Nothing was really changed at their house. It was like this when i was here before i left him
