chapter 9

Cassandra’s pov.

It's been three years since everything has happened. I ended up just adopting Derek, John and I just got married last month and Thomas is 13, Derek is 16. I can’t believe how big they both have gotten. Both Thomas and Derek do not get along with John and I'm not so sure as to why, Thomas and Derek won't talk to me about it but tried really hard for some reason to get me to not get married to John, but i couldn’t comply to him on this i mean I’ve always liked John since i met him back in high school. John just brushed Thomas off about it saying he was probably just upset that another man will be living with me. As for the fighting between them, John just says Thomas is always rude and ignorant to him. As I’m getting ready for work John came into the room and told me he would be late coming in because he had another doctor's appointment. We are trying to have a child of our own but John told me that he was told he couldn’t have children so he's been going to the doctors office frequently to try and get it to where he will be sterile. I've also been taking a supplement every night to help me be more fertile for when his treatments are done and we begin to try again. But it seems like nothing is working. We have been trying since a year after we had gotten together. We talked about it after I had adopted Derek, its like I now wanted one of my own and not one that I adopted. Don't get me wrong though I love both Thomas and Derek as though they are my children even though they are not and Thomas has started looking at me as though im his mother. After I adopted Derek they Both started calling me mom and it made me so happy.

I walked into work with a rush and my assistant at my heels talking about today's schedule. I smile at everyone that walks past us and they always smile back. I love my business and my employees. We have been very successful with our products. I feel very loved and respected with everyone here that it feels like I have developed another family. As we walked to my office I told my assistant to give everyone a bonus to make it where everyone will receive twenty five dollars an hour. I have always felt that we wouldn't have gotten this far without the hard work of everyone in the company. I give them every Holiday off and a check for four hundred on top of their original paychecks. My day at work was great like every other day. Today I have an appointment with an attorney. I have decided to make out a will in case anything happens to me. Thomas and Derek would be safe for the rest of their lives. In my will I am planning to leave everything to the two boys and a small fortune to my husband John. I will change it in the future if we are successful with conceiving a child. The reason for this is because I was scared by one of my employees. Her mother had passed away and she didn't have a will or anything which made it hard for her. Her siblings took all the money for themselves and left her with the costs of funeral expenses and her mothers debt so I ended up just helping her out and paid it all for her. A few weeks later she had been desperately trying to pay me back.I told her she didn't have to, that I am very well aware of the dealings with the finances after a death in the family. We had become close so I ended up making her my assistant.
