Reborn with hatred

chapter 7

Cassandra pov

I wrapped my arms around his neck and began to kiss him back once I realised what was happening, all the while I kept my mind racing, I couldn't believe it! I screamed in my head. John is kissing me. He is actually kissing me. Does this mean he actually likes me? His mouth still on mine I noticed he tastes of fresh mint. Then all of a sudden he pulls away, breaking our kiss. Standing here panting, I looked up at him.

“Sorry, I have to go use the bathroom.” he said while smiling at me.

“O..okay.” was all I could manage to get out.

I watched him head towards the door leading into the hallway that leads to the bathroom. Once he was out of my view I decided to get my head together and went to grab a drink. I sat on a seat next to the bar area and ordered a cocktail. While waiting on it I noticed that Thomas was looking out the window. So I walked over to him and looked out to see what had caught his attention when I saw our oldest sister getting in her car, so I got my phone out and messaged her to make sure everything was okay. Once she stated everything was fine and she was heading out to help her friend I turned back to the bar and grabbed my drink.

“Thomas, why don't you go play with your friend instead of staring out the window?” I asked, smiling down at him. Looking over at me he nodded his head and smiled weakly before taking off. Watching him go I noticed John walking back into the room, he was looking around until his eyes landed on me. He started walking to me, my heart beat picking up as he got closer.

“Sorry to leave you so long there was a line at the bathroom.” he smiled at me and sat in the chair next to me.

“I...it's o..ok..okay.” I stuttered out. For the rest of the evening we laughed and danced, having a good time. Once the party came to an end and everyone had started to head home I went over to where Thomas was playing in the far corner with his friend Derek, letting him know that it's time to go home. He said bye to Derek and we headed for the car.

“I'll walk you to your car.”John stated while we were walking out the door. I smiled up at him and nodded my okay. Since I didn't want to speak it out to just stutter. We walked in silence and I was cursing at myself for parking so far away from the building. I mean yea i was saving the closer spots for everyone else but damn why did i have to walk this far with John next to me. I looked over at Thomas to notice he started fidgeting. I querked my eyebrow up at him and he just shook his head smiling up at me to signal that he was fine and kept walking. Once we got to the car I stuttered out a thank you to John. and he nodded his head in response and just said that he will see me in the office tomorrow,he grabbed my hand and kissed the back of it smiling at me. He then turned and walked to his own vehicle.
