Cassandra pov

I walked into my office at two o'clock to grab a few things that I had forgotten. I had planned to head home early to make the boy's a surprise dinner for all their hard work in their schooling activities. As I was walking out I happened to bump into my company's legal attorney.

" Hey I was just going to stop by n as you if you are ready to fill out your will?"

"OH yes, I forgot we had planned to do that today."

We walked back into my office to start the paperwork. I had decided to leave everything to Thomas and Derek. I knew that if anything were to happen to me that John would be alright but u was more worried for my little brother and adopted son. I had signed the papers and asked the attorney to not mention anything about my will until my death as I wanted it to be a last surprise. I would leave everything to my boys. I was thinking about telling John and having him keep it a secret also.

We left my office, he walked off to his own cubicle office as I had decided to head off home to start on my surprise dinner.

I had decided on making eggplant parmesan with a side salad and a rotisserie chicken, as for the dessert we are having Crème brûlée. I was setting the table when John walked in.

"Something smells good" He said walking over to me with a smile on his face.

"They boys passed their exams so I came home to surprise them with their favorite dinner." I smiled up at him and went to kiss him but for some reason he turned his head and my kiss landed on his cheek. As If to not have me ask questions he had started talking about how he loves my cooking and dipped his finger in the Crème brûlée that sat at his seat at the table.

He might not have been aware that I knew something was wrong. I've noticed for the past couple months that he has drawn quite distant from me. I'm not sure as to why because he refuses to talk to me about it. I can only hope that it is not something that I had done to make him seem less interested in me.
