Not Here

I woke to see the green light of the clock say two. I rubbed my eyes and let the real world hit my ears. It takes me a second to found that my mom was yelling. I walked to my door and then to the top of the stairs. I got to the fifth step and saw that it wasn't my step-dad that she was fighting with. “She not here, okay.” I tried to move back to the top of the stairs but my feet would not carry me the way I wished to go. I felt hot to my face and could feel the water rolling down. I heard my mom yell again.  I ran back to the top to hear her being slammed into a wall. I looked back to see her looking at me. His hands around her neck. “I'm going to ask you one more time. Where the hell is she?” I went to move to her but in her eyes she said no. I ran into my room. Turning around and around. Looking and looking.  The window she yell, the window.  I ran to my bed to my window that was above it. Tears rolling down my face as I ran across the top of the house and down to the ladder. I stepped down onto the last one turning. I looked back at my house. Then look at the dark night that lay in front of me. I ran fast down my driveway faster than I ever did when I would race with my brothers and sister. About half way down the road I stopped to get my breath back. I looked at the house and saw that only the down stairs lights were on.  “Louise she out the window she running away.” Someone yelled from behind me. “Oh you little-.” There were three guys in front of me. I started to back up and ran for the woods. I ran. I heard the shot and stopped dead in my tracks. At first I thought that it was me but I couldn't feel that pain... then I knew that it wasn't me. “MOM!” I turn and started running back to the house. “Oh no you don't.” Hands were around my waist and one on my mouth. I tried to fight him off, but he was stronger than I was. I kicked and hit the best I could. The best part about having brothers was that they taught me to fight. I hit as much as I could before my arm began to hurt. My legs were hurting already.  I know that I was going to die after this. They were going to kill me. So I stopped. I looked at the black sky and knew that it was all over that I couldn't get away. A tall man in all black with black hair and blue eyes walked up to me as I tried again to fight to get out of the tape being wrapped around my arms and feet I tried to kick but there were about five men holding me so that I couldn’t fight back. The one that caught me still had his arms around me and his hand of my mouth. His grip got tighter and tighter every time I moved. “Louise, you sure do know how to pick them,” One said as I tried to elbow him. The dark haired guy just looked at me and moved his head to the side. I bite the guy that was holding me with a death grip. He pulled me around to him. “You little bit-.” He slapped me across the face. I fell to the ground. As the men around me tried pulling me back up. “Stop!” I fell back as they all let go. I moved my hands to pull the tape off.   “Move!” At once everyone around me moved to leave just the dark haired blue eyes guy in front of me. I looked at him. “Just kill me.” He laughed and gave me a smile. He walked up to me and then leaned down. “And why would I do a thing that?” I looked back to the house. “Well, because you killed my mom.” He moved back in shock. He looked at the others and nodded. Then back at me. The next thing I saw was pitch black.  The sun came into my room and into my eyes. Happy that it was only a dream. I went to rub my eyes but something stopped me. Looking up to see that my hands were hands-cuffed to the bed.  A signal tease fell from my eyes. The nightmare was real. I went to yell but was stopped by something gagging me, a rag was so far down my throat that I was shocked that I could even breathe. I rolled round on the bed trying the find a way out of this place. I moved as far up the bed as I could. I pulled at the cuffs and twisted them the best I could. I was on my knees looking outside the window. There was no luck the window was to high. I sit to were my butt rested on my feet.      I looked around the room to see a night-stand, a chair, and a bed, which seemed to be it. I pulled at the cuffs think it would free me every time. Looking down at the bed, it looked like it would be from the late 1900’s since the wood felt old under me.  I started getting tired again and stopped.  After a bit I moved only my head to look around the room again. A man was sitting at the end of the bed. I jumped and opened my mouth, but forgot that the rag was in it. What was happening to me?  “I'm so very sorry about all this. It just that....” He knew that I didn't want to hear it by me turning my head to the window. He stood up and walked out of the room. Hours past and I still didn't know where I was. I wanted to go home. My head hurt and my hands had blood all over them. And there was no sound of car or trucks. But there were sounds of birds.      About another hour past and a two guys walked in. They came up to the bed and one put a black scarf over my eyes. Then, they asked if I could see anything. I shook my head no. One undid the handcuffs letting my hands fall and picked me up. They start walking out the door. I could tell that the place was about three stories high, but it wasn’t till they took the scarf off that I know that it was only two stories and a basement.             “Thank you, you may leave now.” I turned my head and watched them leave and then back to the one that stood in front of me.  “You're probable thinking why you are here and who I am...Right?”  I just looked up to him. He was the dark haired guy. “I'll take that as a yes.” He knew I wasn’t going to talk. “Well, let me answer those two questions for you. You're here because I want you to be and, well, you know who I am.” I looked to the side of me and tried to think. He laughed and then walked up next to me. Grabbing my hands and dragging them to his neck. Running it over a scar. Both my hands hurt but where free of the cuffs at the less. “You gave these to me. You were fourteen and on a family trip. Boy, were you strong. But at the age and who you are I knew you would be. But-” He said as he moved to my neck. “-are you stronger now?” I moved away from him. He walked around me.  “You, your dad and your brother were on a plane. Remember the first day that we fell in love? Do I need to go on?” He was up to my face. I thought about it for a bit, he looked at me the whole time not speaking. I thought about what happened on the trip to see my father. The plane ride home to my mother.  My eyes grow wide. I looked to him as he smiled. And at that point I know who he was.  He was a guy that had been after my dad for five years before the crash. He walked behind me. I didn't trust him and was ready to jump at him if needed . He did something that I didn't like about he untied the rag from my mouth.
