The next morning Mads had left to go to class. I did not have class so I was on a mission to figure out what happened yesterday. Unfortunately, Max had class so I couldn't go talk to him, so I had to talk to Mark first. I showered and put on a tank top and leggings before heading over to Marks. I walked into the apartment, then walked over to his room. I knocked on the door.

"Come in Sage." I walked in and saw him on his bed on his phone. I sit on the edge of his bed. "What do you want?" He says as he looks up at me for a second, then looks back down at his phone.

"I want to ask you about yesterday." He stops and tenses up, shifting himself into a different position. I tried to look in his mind to see if I could see the memory but I was blocked out.

"I told you to stay out of my head." He says, annoyed

"I am sorry but I was trying to figure out what happened yesterday. Why didn't Max do anything? Why did he not save me? Why did he just stand there and act like he did nothing wrong, like you were supposed to be the one saving me, not my boyfriend? Which I am thankful that you saved me at all thank you. But still you are not my boyfriend. It wasn't your job to save me. It was Max's job. He was the one with super strength. He is my boyfriend but he looked at me like he did nothing wrong. Why???" I said, pissed, frustrated after my rant. Mark looked at me a bit shocked by my rant and at a loss of words it seemed like, "Well, do you have something to say?"

"Well, I guess I didn't expect all that, but OK. Well, Max didn't do anything because he is passive. He doesn't do conflict, especially not fighting, no confrontation at all. And if he wasn't going to save you, I had to. I wasn't gonna sit there while my friend's girl got hurt your dating my best friend and your friends with my girlfriend and sister." He said. I thought about this for a second.

"Seriously, he is seriously passive?"

"Yep always has been"

"What the hell, so even though I was in danger he wasn't going to do s**t?"

"Yep"

"That is kind of bullshit. So if I am in need of help, I guess I am glad you are my boyfriend's best friend. It still irritates me that I can't count on my boyfriend to save me and sweep me off my feet. He will have to find other ways to sweep me off my feet I guess." I was blushing and Mark just rolled his eyes at me. "What was that for?" I asked.

"Your just annoying, that's what." he said and went back to texting someone

"Oh really? Who are you texting?"

"My girlfriend now leave and go find your other person". He said it kind of rudely. I got up and left. I texted Lilly and asked what she was doing and she said, wishing that Mark would text her back. Hmm, I wonder what he was hiding.

I went to go meet Max out in front of his class so we could talk. He was a bit surprised when he walked out and saw me standing there since I completely ignored all his messages last night.

"Sage, what are you doing here?"

"I came to see you, is that OK?"

"Of course it is". He walked closer to me and kissed me lightly on the lips. I kissed him back and, as usual, it ended too quickly for my liking. I might be upset with him, but that doesn't mean I don't want more kisses from him. But I know that he will give more when he is ready. We started walking to my place. I couldn't wait to ask him about it though.

"So about yesterday"? I started

"What about it?" He asked, a little confused. Seriously, he has to know what I am going to ask him.

"Well, I wanted to know why you didn't save me and Mark did?" He looked like he was pondering on this for a moment before replying.

"Well, when we started dating I knew there might be a situation where you might need my help and I asked Mark that if there was ever anything wrong that he would take the, of saving you or rescuing you or fighting for you in my place, because I am just too passive of a person." He said and I went to look into his mind to see if he was thinking of the memory and he was. They were walking and they both heard me and Mark looked at Max and he just looked at him like he didn't know what to do, so Mark said something to him under his breath and jumped in and saved me.

So Mark and Max told part of the truth, mostly Mark surprisingly, but they both also lied. I cant believe them. But Max was waiting for me to respond to his answer and I just gave him a smile and said "OK babe" and give him a quick peck "So are you ready for the beach?" I smiled bigger.

"Yeah, I just have to swing by my place, drop my stuff off and grab my bag. I will see you at Mark and Mads' place." he smiled at me and walked away. I hurried back to my place and grabbed my bag that I had packed last night before heading to Mads' place.
