The Attack (Part 1)
Jessica's POV:
It’s been seven and a half years. All the training and missions. Traveling with dad. College, and the never ending feelings I’ve had for the men in the house. Then Joshua talked to us about a man who is going to be like a mentor for us. The man happened to be a witch, but he is also trained in sword fighting as well. He really didn’t give us much detail in what we were going to be doing. All he told us was that he was going to make us into what we should be and help us become stronger.
Flashback:
Jaime and I agreed to go. Uncle Josh said we’d be gone for two years at most. Saying goodbye to everyone was hard for me. I’ve lived with these people for over six years. The feelings for everyone here were too strong for me. I have gotten to know more about these people and I love all of them, but who will I fall in love with?
We went through the portal and we were at the base of a mountain at the entrance of a mine. We waited for a while before a man appeared. He looked no older than thirty years old. He had dark brown hair and brown eyes. His hair looked like he had taken scissors to his own hair, but in the perfect way. It went to his shoulders. He looked gruff and tan, but strong. He wore blue jean shorts and a white t-shirt. He wore tan work boots. His face though I read that he was a gentle man.
“Girls, this is Demetrius Oxford, he will be your teacher for the next two years. I have to go, but Demetrius will take over now. Love you girls and see you in two years.” He portaled out and now Jaime and I are facing Demetrius.
“Sir, how shall we address you?” I asked.
“Mr. Ox would be preferred. Please take off your gear and follow me.” I dropped my bag with all of my camping gear and left my duffle on the ground.
“Long ago the witches found this place. This mine holds the greatest metal stone in the world. It’s called Seacreel. Seacreel used in the right way will become an asset to you girls.”
“I’m sorry to interrupt, but what will we be doing with Seacreel?” I asked curiously.
“So many questions, but I will answer this one. You both will mine your own Seacreel and create your weapon with it. You are half hunter and half witch. This will harness both those needs. You will be able to use your elements through the weapon. An amazing and powerful weapon. The Seacreel will call out to you, so you must walk through the entire mine and the Seacreel will come to the surface if it chooses you. I will teach you how to create the weapon of you choosing, but it must be made by your own hand. Now walk through the mine and when you find your Seacreel come back to me. If it’s not in this mine it’s in another mine. We must create your weapon within thirty days after you harvest it.” The man stood there and we walked deeper into the mine.
“What will you make when you have your Seacreel?” I asked Jaime. We have a better relationship. We have been working through our issues together. We have come to realize even though we are polar opposites we have envied each other and we have worked into loving ourselves as we are.
“Remember the weapon I was drawn to? The longsword and I’ll have to see if I can make a shield with mine. What about you?”
“The double swords, one long and one short. It’ll be the perfect weapon to have since I perfected the use of the ones at home.” Then a dark green color looking rock poked out of the wall of the mine.
“I think that’s yours Jaime.” She reached for it and pulled that huge hunk of rock out of the wall.
“I guess I’ll see you at the entrance,” she said and walked out of the mine. I couldn’t find mine in that mine. So he had brought Jaime and her stone to his house which he had everything for making a sword. Then he brought me to another mining section and spent most of the day walking through that.
But nothing happened so we were shown our room and then we had dinner. He cooked since it was our first night. His cooking was pretty good. After dinner we cleaned up and then went to bed.
He has been helping Jaime make her weapon of choice and I have been walking through different mine areas for the last few days. Then he finally showed me one mine shaft. He told me it was a dangerous one to walk through, but mine might be down that way. I was walking at the end and was about to turn around when two crystal like Seacreel stick out of the wall. I pulled both from the wall and trekked my way back to the entrance and made my way back to the teacher's house. It was hard going back through because there was stuff in the way.
“I’ve never seen that color before,” Mr. Ox commented when I showed up with them. He was intrigued by them. But soon I was working on making molds for my double swords.
It took us three weeks to complete our swords. My swords looked like blue see through crystals. My Seacreel was actually much harder to do. Melting it down little by little. And it was much tougher shaping it and sharpening it.
As soon as our swords were made and ready we set out on our journey. We traveled and trained. He was teaching us how to have our elements flow into the sword and surround the swords. Jaime actually managed to get it, but I was having so much trouble. Then again my swords were much harder to make. I just had to figure this out. Each time we stopped walking and took a break I would pull out my swords and practice trying to get my elements to show.
“Jessica, you must find inside of yourself what can bring about my elements? You must find that answer and use it. Jaime and I are going to the next town. We will be back in two weeks. Shiela will put you up for those two weeks. Also help her out when she needs it.” We had come to a village and Teacher wanted to kind of separate us so he could start teaching her what she needed to do.
It's been a couple days being here and I still can’t figure it out. I’ve been helping out in Shiela’s shop. But a few days later…
“Shiela, I’m going to take a break.”
“Okay, be back soon I have other things I would like you to do.”
“Alright I’ll be back.” I grabbed my swords and headed towards the woods. But I had to go through town, but today was a horrifying day.
A level 100 demon was slaughtering women left and right. This was a woman run village, but a demon was here slaughtering them. I unsheathed my swords and ran to the middle of the square and blocked the demon from slaughtering more people.
“EVERYONE STEP OUT OF THE VILLAGE SQUARE! Tes eco no ra,” The barrier lifted up and surrounded the square. “I HAVE THE DEMON TRAPPED! NO ONE STEP A FOOT IN THE SQUARE! I WILL KILL THE DEMON!” I said as the demon and I circled each other. It came at me and each swing of it’s blade I blocked. This went on for a while, then I thought of all the innocent townspeople that were killed by this demon. Who summoned this demon. My pain flooded back and my swords decided to flame up. The demon came at me but I blocked the sword. My sword broke it’s sword. I cut off it’s arm and then its head in two quick swings.
Its body dropped to the ground and then disintegrated. I dropped the shield and women flocked me and thanked me for saving their lives.
“We must get the people who were slaughtered by that thing. Give them a proper burial and tell their families,” I said without a single beat. Shiela came up to me. She looked at me with concern. Shiela is actually taller than me. I have grown taller but not much, like three more inches. Shiela is like five feet nine inches.
“Are you okay?” She asked, putting her hand on my shoulder. I looked around and looked back at her.
“No, but I will be,” I said. I helped dig the graves of the people who were slaughtered. For days I dug a hole and they laid a body in a box and then filled the whole. So many people were slaughtered and it just made me angry. I wanted to hunt down whatever or whoever summoned that demon and make him pay. Human, Hunter, or Witch lives are not things you can throw away. Whether it be male or female.
After the bodies were buried I had gone back to working. I needed to stay strong and I have learned to become mentally stronger. It’s much easier so this twenty-two year old doesn’t go to her fifteen and sixteen year old self.
When teacher and Jaime came back I was hugging Jaime for dear life. She knew, so we stayed up and I told her everything. And we just talked.
The next I told the teacher and showed him that I could manifest my elements. While those few days I was able to use all the elements. I just had to dig into my pain to do so.
The rest of the two years was training and taking out demons that were summoned to kill mostly women witches. I don’t know why, but it happened and the demons were 100 level. The fighting just became a lot.
Present:
Now we were getting off a plane. My stupid uncle just called and told us we had to travel to a normal town and take a plane home. We had to hide our weapons in an enchanted bag. It was a long journey back home because we were all the way in Australia.Luckily we had visas and our passports. It was like an entire day before landing in Chicago.
After passing through security and all that s**t I was suddenly pulled into a vision.
Demons and Hunters were fighting. One after another the Hunters fell. Then the children were killed. But I was seeing David, Daniel, Jeremy, Johnny, Charlie, Damien and Elias being killed. This was happening at the place where the council meets and then we went to the meetings with them. I came back to my senses.
“We need to go to the council meeting place.” The place was in Michigan, but it’s in a very secluded area and I can’t tell where exactly it is. I can get there, but I don’t know the town name.
“I think we should portal our luggage home and then go for our winged unicorns. We’ll need them.” I said to Jaime. We went into the bathroom and sent our luggage home into our rooms. We did take our weapons from the enchanted bag. I know we could have portaled home but my uncle does things for a reason so I just follow them.
We then portaled to our winged Unicorns and then portaled just above the council buildings.
“Jaime, I need you to keep tabs up here. I’m going to do ground control,” I dropped out of the sky on my unicorn. She was pure white with a pure white horn. We dove down into the trees. I jumped off my unicorn and started running with weapons in hand. I could hear the sounds of swords clashing and people yelling at each other. I rushed through the trees and then I slashed through demons from behind. I just ran faster and faster slashing through demons until I came to a clearing. There were a lot of demons and less Hunters. I ran into the fray with flamed swords. Slashing and burning the corpses of the demons. They were all high level demons. Then a Giant demon was about to land its hammer on Damien while he's fighting another demon.
I ran and extended my flames raising my arms out and cutting right through the handle. The hammer fell onto the demon's head and I raised my swords again and cut right through the demon and the demon burst into flames. I was sweating and out of breath and my magic started to get dangerously low. I extinguished my flames and started cutting through the demons normally. Once the demons were dead I whistled calling Jaime from the sky.
“Thanks, for saving me,” Damien came up to me.
“No problem,” I said a little out of breath. Jaime came down from the sky and she came over to us.
“Holy s**t, at least we made it in time,” Jaime said.
“Yeah, luckily I had that vision, or we would have been too late,” I said. Damien raised an eyebrow.
“Well, at least my ass was saved by her.”
“Actually if I didn’t have that vision all of you would have been dead. That’s what I saw.”
“Jessie, we have another problem. We have more demons coming this way.”
