The Queen's Strike-back: The Luna They Betrayed
Chapter 1: The Queen Who Was Forgotten
The Silver Moon Kingdom glittered beneath thousands of crystal chandeliers as nobles from every werewolf pack gathered in the grand palace. Music drifted through the air, but to Queen Aurora Ashford, every note felt cold.
For five years, she had stood faithfully beside Alpha King Kael Blackwood. She had helped him unite rival packs, negotiated peace treaties, cared for injured warriors, and earned the love of the common people. Every sacrifice she made was for her husband and their kingdom.
Tonight, however, something was wrong.
Aurora walked into the royal banquet hall wearing a midnight-blue gown embroidered with silver moons, the ancient symbol of the Luna Queen. Conversations abruptly stopped. Nobles exchanged uneasy glances before quickly looking away.
Her closest ladies-in-waiting avoided her eyes.
A chill ran down her spine.
"Where is His Majesty?" she asked Captain Rowan.
The captain lowered his head.
"In the throne room, Your Majesty."
Without another word, Aurora made her way through the palace corridors. The heavy doors to the throne room were slightly open. Voices echoed from inside.
She paused.
"...Tomorrow," Kael said, "everything will finally be settled."
Aurora smiled faintly. Perhaps he was preparing a surprise for their anniversary.
Then another woman's voice answered.
"I've waited long enough, Kael. When will everyone know I'm the real Queen?"
Aurora froze.
It was Selene Frost.
Slowly, Aurora stepped closer and looked through the narrow opening.
Selene stood beside Kael, dressed in crimson silk, her hand resting possessively on his arm.
Kael didn't move away.
Instead, he took Selene's hand and kissed it.
"You deserve the throne," he said softly. "Aurora is too soft to rule. The kingdom needs strength."
Aurora's heart shattered.
Five years.
Five years of loyalty.
Five years of love.
Reduced to a single sentence.
Selene smiled.
"And what about your son?"
Kael's expression hardened.
"Elias will grow up believing you are his mother."
Aurora's breath caught.
No...
Not her son.
Anyone could take her crown.
No one would take her child.
She stumbled backward, tears burning her eyes.
A servant accidentally bumped into her.
"Your Majesty!"
The noise echoed through the hallway.
Kael turned toward the door.
"Aurora?"
Before he could reach her, Aurora ran.
Her heels struck the marble floor as she fled through the palace.
She couldn't breathe.
Every promise.
Every kiss.
Every vow beneath the Moon Goddess...
A lie.
She reached the royal gardens, collapsing beside the silver fountain where Kael had once sworn to love her forever.
The moon reflected in the water like a broken mirror.
Footsteps approached.
Aurora wiped her tears and stood.
Kael emerged from the darkness.
"Aurora... let me explain."
She stared at him, searching for the man she had fallen in love with.
She couldn't find him.
Instead, she saw a king willing to erase his own wife and rewrite the past.
"You were going to take my son," she whispered.
Kael remained silent.
That silence was answer enough.
Aurora's wolf whimpered inside her, wounded by the betrayal of her mate.
At that very moment, hidden in the shadows beyond the garden walls, a pair of glowing golden eyes watched everything.
The mysterious Lycan King had finally found the woman destiny had chosen.
