When I woke up the next morning, the sun was just starting to stream in the windows. It glowed beautifully over the perfect creature curled up in an armchair. I smiled at first, elated that she was there. But my smile dropped as I looked her over for the first time. She was thin, really thin. She had dark circles under her eyes and her hair looked limp and lifeless. She looked like she hadn’t eaten or slept in weeks. I was responsible for that. I was so stupid to leave her.
