When I try to get away from my aunt, I run into a body that is quite hard. I almost fall back, but King Rollin's powerful arms keep me in place. The ruler of the Lycans. B tch. King Rollin passes me by without bothering me, acting as though I had not just insulted him by bumping into him like an i***t. I leave the party for some fresh air, hoping no one saw that awkward run-in. I lean against the wall and gaze up at the brilliant stars at the break of dawn. Why does not the moon goddess play fair, I wonder. I have no idea what I did to deserve such a harsh existence, whereas Andrea appears to have it all laid out for her. I have been telling myself for years that the moon goddess has a purpose and will not forsake me. She is cursing me now that I do not have my wolf. Over my wolf, I have shed more tears than I can count. I am grieving for a part of me that has never even existed. I know deep down that I am not strong enough to let the wolf come out. Maybe it is her who is weak. My parents' killer is someone I detest. We never did discover who it was. My parent's murder was unsolved for some reason. Since they were an Alpha and Sev from a reputable pack, I was positive that their killer would be pursued. Frequently, I ponder whether my aunt and uncle played a role in it. They do not have my trust. I inhale deeply after getting some fresh air before going inside. It appears that my aunt has given up trying to locate me. She is chatting with Alpha Steven's parents right now, but she is distracted. Though not nearly as much as the content, recently reunited partners swinging on the dance floor, the two sets of parents are practically glowing. I have to keep my eyes from rolling in case someone notices. I slowly return to the kitchens, staying close to the room's borders. My gaze lingers on the lycan king. With a defined jawline and long, dark brown hair styled half up and half down, he exudes handsomeness. His eyes have a deep brown colour that verges on black. I can not help looking, even if I should not be able to. While King Rollin is still chatting with other guests, he fixes his beady eyes on me. We have each other's gaze. I am able to move forward. Though I know I should, there is something that draws me to him like a magnet. Why the Lycan King would even give me a second thought is beyond me. Originally dyed as a servant, I am. Compared to usual, my clothes are a little finer. I dress in the same all-black outfit I wear every day for formal occasions. One of Faiso's aprons is white. Perhaps he is upset that I bumped him? Best to keep that a secret. I intend to shift my feet towards the kitchens. The kitchens should be safe for me. Anna's perspective I wish my initial belief that I would be secure in the kitchens had been accurate. Sadly, Aunt Ginger managed to track me down. They are short a cook, so she reprimanded me for being difficult to find before telling me I needed to assist with cooking. Dinner is scheduled to be served in one hour, and I will be held accountable for any delays. I promptly offer assistance wherever I can to ensure that the food is served on schedule. Even though I am not the chief chef, I still have a responsibility to ensure that the meal is served on schedule. If the dinner is running late, my Aunt Ginger will not appreciate that I am disorganised. Despite the heat in the kitchen, I wipe perspiration off my brow and continue cooking. When the food is finally ready, I help plate it all. My aunt storms into the kitchens to make sure the dinner is ready just as I start to get comfortable. I get my next order from her once she checks the food. "You have to clean up before you can assist with serving the food. You have an oniony scent. I will make sure you do not smell bad while attending to the guests." My aunt insists. I grab some deodorant to put on in the hopes that it will help with the stench and immediately wash my hands with strong soup. I really need take a shower, but I have to go down on the floor and help, so I can not do that now. serve the visitors food. The Lycan King is staring at me when I am out serving the meals to the guests. He can not be angry with me for bumping into him still, can he? Although I did not mean to, I am aware that it is considered impolite. I am hoping he keeps it a secret from my Uncle Grant, who will undoubtedly beat me for it. Even though Andrea is adoring her partner, she is still staring at me. When she sees King Rollin staring at me, it does not help. She looks at me like I should stop doing what I am doing, but I am not doing anything. All I am doing is following instructions to serve the guests meals. I am not sure why King Rollin keeps staring at me, or why his gaze makes me feel so hot. My tasks come to an end as the celebration winds down. I go fetch some meal in the kitchens. Before going outside to eat, I pick up some scraps. I am eating my pitiful dinner while leaning against the wall of the pack house. I am alone myself. I am by myself all the time. "Eating by yourself for dinner?" Alan, one of the male omega staff, comes out the back kitchen door near where I am seated and asks a question in a voice behind me.
