“Where is she?” Dominic asked, and Aiden pointed towards the ICU door.
“F*cking hell! I didn’t know he could do something like this to her, or I would never have let her stay in that damn house for one more second,” Dominic ran his fingers in his hair to calm his anger, but failed.
“F*ck, f*ck, f*ck! I am going to kill that b@stard with my own hands. No one has the right to lay a single finger on our mate… absolutely no one,” He growled in anger, and everyone felt his raw alpha energy. It silenced everyone as if someone had pressed the pause button.
His eyes glowed golden red, and he looked like a god of death at that moment.
“Brother! She needs us at this moment. Please calm down,” Aiden’s soothing tone brought his human side back, and he gave him a curt nod before leaving the hospital. He needed some moments to calm himself down because he didn’t want to scare Seraphina with his angry energy.
“F*ck! We have to handle our angry energy before we mess up in front of her,” Caine said to all his brothers through the mind-link, and everyone hummed in response. The door of her room opened, and the doctor came back.
“Alpha! She stitched her wounds, but she needs a lot of rest and…” He looked towards the glowing eyes of all three and stopped. Their wolves were on edge, and they were breathing hard, which meant their wolf sides were ready to claw their way out at any minute.
“And what, Doctor Fredd?” Caine asked after calming himself quickly.
“And she has a lot of scars from past injuries, so it will take her some time to recover properly, but you have to keep her out of stress for that time period.” He nodded and took the prescription from his hands.
“Don’t worry, Doctor! We will take proper care of her and will not let anything stress her out. Thank you so much for helping us urgently at this hour of the night,” Caine thanked him and handed the prescription to Blaze.
“No need to thank me, Alpha! It’s my pleasure,” He gave Caine a professional smile before leaving them there and heading towards his office.
“Doctor! Can we see her?” Aiden quickly asked, and he nodded.
“Thanks,” He quickly thanked the doctor and entered her room. She was lying on her stomach because her back was covered with gauze and bandages. She was still unconscious due to anesthesia.
Caine touched her cheek softly, like he was afraid of hurting her.
“I am sorry, Dove. We will not let anything like this happen to you again. We will protect you and cherish you for the rest of our lives,” Caine whispered softly and then pressed a kiss on her cheek. She was looking like an angel while sleeping like this, not the fierce tigress ready to rip everyone apart.
“I didn’t understand one thing, Caine. She is so strong and capable, so why did she let anything like this happen to her in the first place?” Aiden asked while holding her hand delicately.
“She is brave and fierce; we all witnessed that, but sometimes our family knows all the right tricks to trigger our traumas to make us defenseless against them. And in other scenarios, we let that happen to achieve some goal. We don’t know why she let that happen to her, but she was never a weak woman in our eyes… and she never will be.” Caine’s tone turned serious and admiring in the end.
“Yes! But I don’t think she will be ready to spend the rest of her life with us. And what if his father created a mess after noticing her absence in her room? How are we going to handle him?” Aiden asked Caine, and he nodded his head.
Caine was so worried about her well-being that he forgot about Seraphina’s father and his greedy nature for a moment, but now… he knew how to handle him well. He dialled Dominic’s number and asked him to meet near the parking lot. They have to figure something out before she can gain consciousness.

“And will he agree to our terms just like that?” Dominic asked after taking a look at the sample contract that Caine forced his lawyer to make at that hour.
“I think so! We will offer her some shares if they try to make things worse, and we also have Seraphina’s medical record to shut that greedy b@stard up,” Caine answered, but Dominic was in deep thought.
“Did I miss something in this contract?” Caine asked, and Dominic shook his head in no.
“What if she never loved us? What if she left us after healing herself properly?” Dominic asked in a deep, sad tone, and Caine took a deep breath.
“I know it’s a gamble, Dom. But we can’t let her suffer in that hellhole after finding out about the matebond with her,” Caine answered after putting his phone back into his pocket.
“You are right, but she didn’t show any reaction to our touch. Is she pretending, or is it just a one-way thing?” Dominic finally voiced the question that was burning him from the inside.
“I hope the f*ck not because my wolf accepted her as our mate, and I know your wolf accepted her too, right?” Dominic nodded before fishing out the cigarette pack from his pocket.
“You said you would quit it,” Caine reminded him, and he ignored his words before lighting his cigarette.
“I don’t know why my heart is refusing to even think about any other woman at this point?” Dominic thought and closed his eyes to endure the pain in his heart.
