Chapter 1 : "You and your brother are a curse to this family, stay out of our life" Mr Williams barked to Kyla face She stood dumbfounded staring at the man she calls her father. "I cursed the day you two were born" He uttered and Lyla looked up in shock "Father" She mumbled "Don't you ever call me that, from today I cease to be your father, out of my house " Mr Williams yelled storming into the room Minutes later he rushed out with their boxes throwing them out of the house. "Father what are you doing " Jerome ran to him "Never you two step into this house again, the day you do, I'll kill you with my bare hands" Mr Williams spat walking inside And that's how they were thrown out into the streets, forced to fend for themselves. They do mini jobs, taking part time jobs just to survive. Years passed and they succeeded in renting a room, Lyla works as a maid in a restaurant, and her attitude made her being loved by all. She did a night shift and she's getting ready to go home "Lyla" She heard her manger called and she turned swiftly "Yes" She replied "I know you worked overnight, but can you please help me serve those kids at the vendor before going home please " The manger pleaded "Oh sure " Lyla replied dropping her apron She stride to the door where some children are on a queue. A black car pulled up at the door and the tinted window wined down. A guy with a black shade on looked out staring at the vendor as Lyla served the children. "This is where the twins get their ice cream from? " His deep voice asked "Yes boss, they've never visit any other vendor " The driver replied Cole looked back at the vendor and saw Lyla walking inside the shop and he sighed. A guard came to open the door for him and he climbed down slowly. Cole took off his shade looking around while the driver drove the car to the garage. He start walking to the company his guards walking before him. He's having a meeting with the share holders. He met his secretary standing beside the door with her files. "Morning sir" She greeted "Are they here already " He asked "Yes sir" She replied leading the way to the Meeting room. A guard opened the door and he enterd first The shareholders stood up immediately he entered the meeting room greeting him with respect. Cole replied them with a nod as he took his seat and they followed suit. "Morning everyone, sorry for the urgent meeting something came up" Cole said "It's no problem Mr Cole" David an elderly man replied The shareholders are 4 in number, four men with a lady. "Abigail, please pass them the form"Cole told his secretary Abigail brought out some forms from a file and passed it to them. "Written on that form is the Sales for the year, the incomes,expenses and everything are all well documented there,go through and let's know your thoughts "Cole told fhem resting back on the chair The shareholders took some minutes to read through the forms while Cole watched them. David was the first to drop the form and he clapped slowly as the others dropped the form. "It's well documented Cole, the year sale is very more than previous years" David applaud "Thank you Mr David, any one has anything to say? "Cole asked "Well Mr Cole, my secretary got a design about a tricycle which I think we should look into" Thomas one of them said "Mr Thomas that will have to wait, we will do that in our next meeting" Lilian the female among them said "True, Mr Cole let's talk about the profit " Henry the last member said "Yes, I was coming to that "Cole said and gave a signal to his secretary Abigail brought out another file and gave it to them. "30 Billion Dollars was the profit and I've draw a plan of how it will be shared " He said "After I paid the workers, the remaining profit is amounting to 25 Billion Dollars and Five is going to the Orphanage as usual,i'm taking 3 Billion, you guys will share the remaining 17 Billion "Cole declared They all looked up with shock written on their faces. Factory•• It's a bread factory and busy one at that. It's crowded as people are on a line waiting to buy. Inside the workers are busy moving around trying to satisfy the customers. Jerome stood with some people as they packed breads in a carton. "Jerome " His Boss called and he left what he's doing "There's an order at street number five, go for the delivery " The Boss instructed "Alright " He said going away Minutes later he drives out of the factory on a delivery bike with the package mounted on the bike. He climbed the road and drove away. Minutes later he stopped at a house and he came down from the bike taking off the helmet. It's a semi detached house. He checked the address giving to him and he nod,its a regular place where he always come to deliver . He took the package from the bike and walked to the door. He rang the doorbell before stepping back a little. "Coming! " A feminine voice said from inside The door opened revealing a lady with the petite perfect body. She's Kaitlyn Bryant, Cole's sister. She stopped then stared at Jerome who raised his brow. "Your package " He stretched the pack to her "Oh okay" She smiled awkwardly as she collected the pack. "You'll need to sign " Jerome said bringing out a device Kaitlyn bit her lips as she continued staring at him,her eyes roamed round his body as she checked him out. "Here " Jerome stretched the device to her giving her a light pen. She took it and signed before returning the pen back to him. "Thanks for patronizing us, we look forward to have you again "Jerome smiled lightly "You're welcome " Kaitlin managed to say as Jerome walked back to the bike She watched as he mounted the bike driving off before she walked back in. "The package arrived? " A lady asked as Kaitlyn entered the living room She's Aubrey, her friend, they both run a Jewelry store together. She's sitting on the couch watching an opera on the television. "Yeah" She Muttered dropping the pack on the table "You look moody, what's it" Aubrey asked as Kaitlyn sat beside her "Your Prince Charming came for the delivery? " She asked "You think he has a girlfriend?, he's not even noticing me" She mumbled "You don't expect someone as handsome as him not to have a girl, babe why not chill okay" Aubrey advised and Kaitlyn sighed "I have a suggestion, why not approach him? " She said and Kaitlyn turned to her "I'm not doing that okay?, he might think I'm cheap" Kaitlyn scoffed "Alright, cheer up then forget about this for now let's enjoy the show" Aubrey said Kaitlin sighed and rested back on the couch.
