Chapter 2

Sara's POV

Pain and excitement tore through my body as if in conflict with one another, both emotions overwhelming but the closer the Adonis came the more the excitement waxed stronger. He stopped right in front of us and didn't spare anyone a glance. He looked at me and I saw his gaze softened, it was of pity and consolation and it was momentary as his deadly expression resurfaced turning his attention to Kiel.

Kiel had his head hung low and he couldn't look the stranger in the eye which made me wonder who had the power to make the alpha of the famous, feared and prestigious Azure moon pack cower in fear and speechless without saying a word.

"I was just-"

"Not a word." The stranger instructed, cutting Kiel short.

Fairywhimpered, sensing Kiel's helplessness. I was confused as hell, how did I transit from excruciating and hell-originated pain to a feeling of triumph and celestial peace of mind? The stranger took a step closer to me and strangely enough I felt another scent fill my nostrils, one more pleasant than that of Kiel, it was stronger and more fragrant, jolting all my cells to life. He reached out and lovingly pat my hair sending sparks flying through my body.

"You're safe now, I'm here." I heard his voice sound in my head.

I thought I was going crazy, he had mind-linked me and I was freaking it, outwardly, it appears as if he warmly smiled to me alone, he hesitated for a moment and turned his attention back to Kiel's.

"How dare you lay a finger on my mate?" The stranger asked calmly but his voice sounded like a thunder.

"Alpha Khael, she's just a useless Omega, you shouldn't worry yourself about her." Kiel said, disdainfully.

I could hear murmurs from the crowd and whisperings about 'Alpha Khael' the name sounded familiar to me but I couldn't remember who he truly is, I saw Dora navigate across the crowd until she was opposite me, some decent distance away.

"Are you trying to say my judgement is wrong?" Khael asked, his tone grave.

Kiel's roamed about, looking everywhere except Khael's direction still confusing me.

"She's a nobody, will you should a fellow alpha just for her sake? She's barely worth it if you ask me. You're here for the alpha's mating ceremony isn't it? How about we treat you like the special guest you are and not waste your energy on trash?" Lilian uttered.

Khael snickered loudly and glared at her.

"Teach your woman to bridle her tongue else I will." Khael warned Kiel.

He turned to face me and smiled warmly at me once more.

"Are you hurt?" He asked.

I shook my head and nodded at the same time, unsure of the answer.

"It's okay, I'm here, anyone who dares hurt you will answer to me." He threatened.

Before I could say a word, he picked me up like I was weightless and I could tell that Kiel wanted to protest but one look from Khael and he swallowed his words.

"I'm leaving." Khael announced, lackadaisically.

"The ceremony can't proceed without your presence." Kiel protested.

"Then it won't, Damien will take care of it on my behalf." Khael responded.

"Damien is your beta, a beta can't -"

"Do as you wish." Khael said, dismissively and walked away with me in his arms.

I wanted to protest but he shut me up.

"Don't sweat it little lamb, I'm not letting you go." He uttered, possessively and I gulped in nervously, I was in for the time of my life.

As he walked with my in his arms, I saw tons of men in black walking behind him and I was scared, he gently gave me a nudge and I buried my face in his chest.

'Whats happening Fairy?' I asked my wolf as I was confused.

'We've found our mate.' She whispered, happily.

'But Kiel-'

"Shush little lamb, let those worries float away." I heard Khael's voice in my head.

Like a sedative, I inhaled his manly scent once more and subconsciously drifted to sleep.

When I woke up, it was in a strange and different room, I had snuggled the pillow and smiled as I replayed the memory of Kiel and I running around when we were kids in form of a dream and then the scene was cut to me seeing Khael's face once more and his identity became revealed; Devil's Twin, and this made me alert and awake. I panicked as realization dawned on me, Kiel was my first love and first mate while the Devil's Twin is my second chance mate, I had two mates! I was freaking out.

The door opened and a beautiful girl walked in holding a tray containing a sumptuous meal.

"You're in the alpha's hotel, he's out for an important business and said to take care of you, if you need anything you can ask me, I'll be right out at the door." The girl said, as if reading my mind.

I was confused and knew I couldn't stay, I couldn't bear to be the notorious devil's mate which made me realize that I needed to be away from all this drama as soon as possible but it was obvious Khael wouldn't let me go because I asked so a plan formed in my head. I smiled warmly at the girl and pretended to go into the bathroom, I screamed and she rushed in, I pushed her inside and locked the bathroom door, since the room would be guarded by some men, I also screamed and they rushed in, pretending to be frightened by an imaginary intruder in the bathroom which had murdered the girl, they rushed in to protect me giving me the opportunity to run away.

By the time they realized I had fooled them I was already away from the room, I ran as fast as I could to safety and waited in a coffee shop until they ran past me.
