CHAPTER 11

LUKE

Freya was eating like an animal, it was cute. She looked up and her face was bright red with embarrassment. Tony and I both laughed. I sat back realizing I'd get to spend the next few years of my life with my favorite person, and gosh was I excited. We stayed in the diner figuring out tonight's plans, and we all three agreed we would stop in a big town to sleep overnight, concluding it would be much safer than staying outside if Frea's parents caught up with us. We all three got into our cars and got back on the road. Freya was watching out the window as I silently watched her and the road. Then I started thinking about all that's happened to her, and yet she's still hopeful and amazing. She's the strongest person I know. "So, Freya, there's something I need to tell you" I said. She looked at me, and I started telling her we needed to stop by a*****e and get her the plan B pill. She nodded her head and turned back to look out the window. She didn't say anything else and I felt bad for bringing it up, but she needed to know. I put in Walgreens on my phone so the guide could tell me how to get there. It was only a thirty minute drive. I called Tony right quickly to update him on the plan, and then went back to complete silence. It didn't take long before we got to the store. We decided to get drinks and snacks as well when we got there, because they are very important. We checked everything out, and went back out to the cars. I pulled out the pill we got, and handed it to Freya. She put it in her mouth and I passed her the water bottle so she could easily swallow it. The three of us got into our cars. Freya got into the back so she could fall asleep for awhile. We'd officially been gone for 5 hours and only made it 3 hours away, which means we took too long at the diner. I decided to speed up, going 20 miles over the limit and Tony followed me. I called him and told him we would keep driving with no stops until we physically couldn't anymore. He happily agreed.

" What the hell happened here," Cooper said with nothing but anger. We have no... I started to speak but he punched me in the face. "I don't want excuses," he said as a warning. I started telling him what Jenny told me, and to say he's mad would be a huge understatement. He came closer to me. He grabbed me by my shirt, and pulled me closer to him. "You have three days to find her or else you die" he said. I nodded my head in understanding, and then he dropped me. I fell to my knees and quickly got up. He walked over to Jenny next, and started touching her body. I took a step towards him but he grabbed her by the neck, and told me to stay still. I did as I was told, only hoping for the best, but that did not happen. He punched her in the stomach, and she bent over in pain. He undressed himself and her. I wanted to do something, anything, but then we both would die. How could someone do this to another? This man is a monster. I stood there and watched as he took my wife, and she cried out in pain. When he was finally done with her, he dropped her naked body to the ground, and walked away, letting us know again that we had three days to find that bastard girl. She ruined our lives. I ran to my wife and held her close to me, wishing I could do more to help her. She just laid in my arms crying, and a few minutes later she drifted to sleep. I put her clothes back on, picked her up, and headed towards my car. I put Jenny in the back so she could be comfortable, then I got in and drove away. I went home, and took my wife up to bed. I couldn't stop replaying what he did to her, and I felt sick to my stomach. After laying Jenny down, I went and got back in the car. I started driving back to Freya's school. I was going to find a clue, and then find that little girl. She would know more pain then ever once I found her. as pulled into the parking lot there were some cars and I also found cooper. it looked like he was sniffing around the area. I stayed parked in my car. I just watched him as he walked around the school lot, and near the school. He looked in my direction, and I got down fast. My heart was beating out of my chest. After some time, he never came to my car. So I got back up, but he was gone. I didn't see him anywhere, and I wasn't about to start trying to look. Instead of getting out, I decided to go back home, since Jenny may have been up by now. I pulled out and started to head home. I hope my wife will be OK after what he did to her. I parked my car in the driveway and I went inside. I called Jenny's name but there was no answer. Only complete silence. I walked up to our room and she wasn't there. I ran all around the house looking for her. Then I saw a note, "You can't protect me mark, so I am leaving. I never want to see you again", the note said. I dropped it along with a tear. How could she leave? I loved her, and there was nothing I could do. I would have died if I had tried to fight that ass off. Why couldn't she see that? We could have talked about it. She didn't have to leave. I tried calling her phone but it kept going straight to voicemail, so I gave up and just drank my whiskey hoping she would come back soon.

After, the kids, and Tony left. I went home and I took a nap before my watch shift at the school. We thought it would be a good idea to watch freyas parents, and see what happens. I fell asleep in no time and I woke up 4 hours later to get going. Avery was going to watch there house, so we kissed goodbye and went our separate ways. I backed out of our driveway and I went to the school. I pulled in and started watching a movie on my phone until I found some movement. There was nothing for awhile, but then again school wasn't even out. After the movie was over, I started watching a show. The kids were finally out and I watched as the parking lot started to empty out. Once school was out, I got out of my car and took a walk for awhile. It started getting dark. I went back to my car and started my show again and then about one hour later another car pulled in. He got out and started walking around. It looked like he was sniffing around. About thirty minutes later, another car pulled in. The man was so busy looking he didn't notice the other car. I cracked my door open a little bit so I could hear everything. I sat there with my ear next to the door watching out my window. Then out of no where the man that was sniffing around turned into a monster. He ran away and I was terrified. How did he do that? What was he, and what was he after? I got over the monster. I looked at the other car. It was just sitting there for awhile. I wanted to leave but I decided to wait for them to leave first. The car started and pulled out. I followed them all the way back to Freya's house. He pulled in and got out. I saw Avery's car and I called her to come back home so we could talk about tonight, and everything we saw out there. I don't know what she gathered on the house, but I know Freya's dad came to the school. I just don't know who, or what that monster was. It looked like a dog with very sharp teeth. I waited ten minutes. Then I started back home, and Avery followed. We both pulled into the driveway, and went inside. Once we got in, I locked the door and went to the living room. Avery walked in with drinks in her hand, and we started talking. I told her about the man who walked into the lot, and looked around, then turned into the monster dog and ran. I also told her about Freya's dad and how he was there too. She was definitely in shock by what I said. I kissed her cheek and asked her what she had seen tonight. She nodded her head and started talking about how, when she got there, she watched Freya's mother go outside and smoke, then she went back in for awhile. Then she went back out and got in her car. She decided to follow her all the way to the spot where we planted freyas device she looked furious when they found it. Her and her husband looked around until they found the tracker. Then someone else came. He was tall and scary. He beat Freya's father up then r***d her mother. She almost threw up, but then remembered she deserved it for everything she did to Freya. When the man was done, he left. mark and Jennifer just sat there for awhile. Mark picked Jennifer up and took her home, then he left. She wanted to follow, but also wanted to also keep eyes on Jennifer just in case. It was a plan to get rid of her, in case they knew she was on to them, but it sounded like he went to the school. She said that after awhile Jennifer walked out with some suitcases. The man from the woods was behind her, making sure she didn't escape. It looked like they both got in her car, and drove away. She followed them all the way to the city edge, there going in the same direction as the kids, but it's like they already know exactly where to go. She said she wanted to follow further but decided against it. She went back to the house and watched some more. Five minutes later, I showed up, which is also when I told Avery it was time to leave. We decided it would be a good idea to tell the kids and tony, but we didn't know how to say it. I told Avery to go to bed while I figured it out. I was terrified of what they were up against. I think it's more than Freya and her parents. I think there is something big going on here, and I am worried about my son's safety. I went ahead and called Tony but he didn't answer. Just seconds later, I got a text telling me it would be better to text. He didn't want to wake Luke and Freya. I texted him and told him everything. It took a minute for him to respond, but when he did, he told me the truth and why he decided to follow the kids. I wish he would have told me before I agreed to let my son follow this girl all the way to her freedom, but it's too late now he's in this, and I have to keep him safe. I texted back, and asked how he planned to tell the kids. He told me he would handle it and I believed him, since he was indeed there to keep my son and Freya safe from these people. I put my phone down and went to bed. Avery was awake looking at the wall. She couldn't sleep and I don't think I'll be able to either.
