Elijah's POV:

I wake up with a smile on my face and an empty bed, I don't remember waking up like that for 2 years. I walk to the kitchen where my family is with wide smiles.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" They yell. I swear, my mom's smile widens when she notices that I slept alone. She gets out of my father's hold who frowns at the loss of his mate. 

"I didn't believe it when Liam said that you found your mate! Where is she? What does she look like? How old is she? Is she from our pack? Have you marked each other? Have you mated? Why isn't sh-" Mom starts bombarding me with questions while wrapping her arms around my waist in a tight grip.

"Let the boy breath, honey." Dad says grabbing Mom's hand and pulling her to him. He must pretend that he only did this so I could be more comfortable but I know that he gives no s***s about me being hugged to death, he doesn't care when aunt Scarlet hugs me and grabs my cheeks. He just wants to have his mate next to him, I envy their relationship, it's just so easy. I mean, it wasn't at first but now? It's been 19 years and they are still strong as ever! I wonder if my mate and I will be like that?

I wonder what her name is... Emily? Emma? Em- something?

Why does she cover her face?

Well, how ironic is that the first day everyone sees her face it's the day where I find my mate? The Goddess really planed it.

I focus and clear my throat.

"First, thanks guy and second, she is at her house I guess, she is beautiful, I think she is my age, she isn't from our pack, NO and GOD NO, I don't want to talk to my parents about this especially in front of my younger brother!" Isay with a disgusted face

"Okay but a heads up, when we meet her, we are going to have "the talk" in front of her!" Dad says teasingly

"Please, no!" I exclaim making everyone laugh.

I spend the rest of the day in my room watching Peaky Blinders. I want to watch it because my mate likes it and I want to make her happy, no other reason...

Whatever you say Mr I'm not jealous... Just imagine her watching this show while checking him out. How do you feel? He asks, I clench my jaw and my fists. I can feel that he is, like me, angry with that thought but he acts like it is normal.

I close our link and focus on the show.

The next day I have the Alpha ceremony. I wake up, so my business and get ready for the ceremony. I dress a suit and leave my hair in its messy fluffy way. 

I am a bit afraid, my whole pack is going to start depending on me, maybe I should wait one more year... I push those thoughts away as I walk into the garden. I look at the time 10 am, the ceremony starts in 30 minutes. 

Mom grabs my hand and we start to greet the pack members. I don't miss the way some moms are expecting their daughters to be my mate nor the lustful glances that most of the pack girls are looking at me. I see a girl making her towards me, trying to look sexy but in reality just making her look like she couldn't walk...

"Elijah, please make your way to the stage" I hear my Dad say from the stage.

I thank the moon goddess cause I wasn't ready to deal with some horny s**t. I make my way towards the stage that is in the garden.

"Welcome everyone! We are here to witness the beginning of my son's adventure. Being an Alpha is not about the power that you have, it's about your people, it's about having people to help! I've been an Alpha for over two decades and I have to tell you, sometimes these people will drive you crazy!" Dad says making everyone laugh "But you will have you Delta, Gamma, Beta and, last but definitely not least, your mate." As Dad says that he kisses Mom making her blush and hide her face in his chest making everyone awe at their display of affection. I clear my throat making Mom and Dad remember that they are in the middle of my Alpha ceremony.

"Right." Dad says clearing his throat with his right arm around Mom's waist who is next to him still red. "As I was saying, you will have everyone with you. You will have Mom, John and me. So with these words, I ask you.  Do you, Elijah Xavier Jones, swear to try your best to make this pack united, organised, safe and  a family?" Dad asks and cuts his hand with a dagger, putting his blood on the cup that my Mom is holding.

"Yes, I do." I answer as I take the dagger and cut the palm of my hand.

"Then, by the power invested in me by the Moon Goddess, I now pronounce you, Alpha Elijah of the Blood Moon Pack!" My Dad says and everyone starts to cheer. 

After a few minutes, I shift, my wolf is still its black colour with its bluish-grey eyes but, it's bigger since I've reached what someone would call wolf maturity. I wait for everyone to shift and to turn their attention to me.

'Hello' I say through the new mind link. I hear everyone reply congratulating me.

'Thank you everyone. We can start the run!' I say and start running aware that everyone is following me.

We run for hours and then head back, everyone is exhausted, everyone except me so I stay in the forest and make my way towards my mate's house. I see Xavier knocking on the door and my mate opening it, I use my super hearing and listen to their conversation.

"Come on baby, you should forgive me at least. I wasn't the one that said those things to Elijah!" I hear Xavier plead

"I don't give two flying f***s, you didn't stop him. Be grateful that I only sent your photo to Olivia and our parents Xavi!" She answers teasingly and he pales. I furrow my brows, which photo?

"What? Y-You sent her the photo?"  I am really curious at this point

"Yup" She answers popping the 'p'

"You-you-"

"Adorable cute best friend?" She finishes for him with an innocent look. Just as she finishes those words that boy, Eric appears from the backyard

"Em, I said I was sorry, what else do I need to do?" He asks pouting 

" I don't know Eric, because of you everyone has seen my face! I spent years covering my face, YEARS! And now, because of you, Xavier, the man w***e and the drunk boy, my identity has stopped being a secret" She answers, I have to admit that it hurt a bit being called a man w***e but, it's the truth. I guess this is one of those moments that mom was talking about when she said that I would regret it...

"I know and I said I was sorry but that doesn't mean that I have to pee in the backyard!" Eric says

"Or send my sister photos of Eric and me cuddling!" Xavier joins, so that was the photo? I feel sorry for him, I know his older sister and she won't let him live that down but he deserves it cause he makes me jealous!

"Exactly! Wait what?" Eric asks confused

"She sent the freaking photo?" He then asks making Xavier nod with his head down and Em nod with a smirk.

"Well boys, as fun as this was, I have to facetime Olivia and her knight in shining armour!" Em says. So she is friends with Olivia and her mate? I didn't know that... 

Xavier and Eric walk in the house when  Em leaves. I run to the pack house and get ready for school tomorrow, tomorrow I'm going to make a move on Em but first I'm going to "talk" to Xavier and find out her name!

I wake up, do my business and head to school. My first period is Spanish, I notice that Xavier is in this class so I decide to let him know that we are going to have a little talk.

'Xavier, please meet me at your locker after class'

'Yes Alpha' He replies

After class I meet Xavier by his locker, he looks a little bit uncomfortable

Perfect Damien says

You shouldn't want one of your pack members to feel uncomfortable! I scold him

"So, you wanted to talk Alpha?" He asks trying to act normal

"Yes, I wanted to know what is your relationship with my mate"

"Oh, don't worry, we are just friends!" He exclaims

"Good!" I say and starting an uncomfortable silence between us. 

I start to sense the beautiful and delicious vanilla scent coming towards us.

"Hey, baby!" I hear her sweet melodic voice say, I can't see her but I know damn well that unfortunately that baby wasn't for me. And to confirm my suspicions Xavier went stiff when he heard her.

"Hey, Em!" He answers, you could hear the fear in his voice as he starts to lean on the locker making me able to look at my beautiful mate. 

She doesn't see my face as she looks behind her to Peter who is running towards us. She notices how he starts to fastem his pace and she grabs Xavier's shirt's collar and kisses him. I stand there for a second looking at my own mate kissing someone in front of me, I feel like my heart just shatered, Peter and Xavier's eyes are wide open and I let out growl and grab my mate and hug her. If this was any other situation I would be dying to feel these sparks that run between us but right now I'm too focused on Xavier.

We are just friends my a*s I think while my mate turns to me.

"What the h**l! Let go of me!" She says angry. I let go of her even more hurt and while Damien whimpers.

"Now, could you please f**k off as you've seen I'm in a relationship!" She says to Peter who just opens his mouth to excuse himself but then closes it and walks away

"Sorry Xavi but since you could do it at your old school and that guy was creeping me out I thought about it." She says looking ashamed

"I know Em, but you could have warned me or even Eric! Now he is going to call Eddie and they will beat the s**t out of me" He says looking a little bit afraid. Who is Eddie?

"I'll talk to Eric, he won't even care." She says with a chuckle. She then turns around.

"Why are you still here?" She asks me
