A Mate That was Lost

Werewolves. As crazy as it sounds, we exist. My name is Lani Simmons and I was 15 years old getting ready to turn 16 and gain my wolf. Where I come from we gain our wolves when we are 16 but we don’t actually shift until we are 18. It’s weird right but that’s how it works. Maybe I should explain more. You see, werewolves live in packs and we have what we call an Alpha, he runs the pack as well as their family company, a Beta, who helps the Alpha run the pack and company, a Gamma, who helps the Alpha train the warriors in the pack, and then the Warriors, who help defend the pack against attacks. Then there are wolves like me, the Omegas. We work for the pack and help the pack run smoothly. We have jobs all around the packhouse, which is where the Alpha, Beta, and Gamma families live. Omegas not only work in the packhouse but some also work in the town the pack recedes. As for me I am an Omega, in the Silver Lake Pack, who works in the packhouse after school. I work in the kitchen as well as the laundry room. Nobody really notices me at the pack house because I am so quiet. It is totally different at school.  School is where I get picked on. I am not only quiet but I am also smart but not like the kind of smart that goes unnoticed. I mean like scary smart. School is easy for me and I have been told I could have graduated a long time ago but I refused so I don’t stand out and draw attention towards me. Somehow the Alpha’s son found out about how smart I am and now I am the target of his pranks and cruel jokes. Same goes for Beta's son and Gamma's twins. Did I mention that I was also adopted.  I’ve always been quiet and weak but that was before everything happened after I turned 16 and this is my story.
