Tuesday morning, Aria woke with a knot of anxiety in her stomach. The trial was six days away, on Monday, October twenty-second, which is less than a week until she'd have to face Victoria in court. Damien was already awake, sitting up in bed with his laptop, working quietly. "Morning," he said when he noticed her eyes open. "How'd you sleep?" "Not great," Aria admitted. "I kept thinking about the trial." "I know," Damien said, closing the laptop and setting it aside. "But we'll get through it. Together."
