Shannon slouched in her car seat, watching Jake’s house through narrowed eyes. She knew that he would not be at home, and contrary to what he thought, she still had a spare key to his house. What Jake was doing to her was all so unfair. He kept claiming that he did not want anything with anyone, but she had seen him with that skank kissing her as though his life depended on it. Shannon was sure that if she had not come along, they would have had s*x right there in the swimming pool. The swimming pool, which Shannon had not even yet swum in yet. She missed every damn thing about him, his handsome face, his smile, the way his eyes crinkled at the corners when he smiled, and even his house. She missed being in his house.
“Maybe I should just go in and see what has changed and what has not.”
