I was awoken by the sound of screams.
I sat up in bed and looked around in confusion as the screams continued. Standing up, I walked over to the window to see the sky a light blue shade meaning that a new day was upon us. I slipped my feet in a pair of slippers before making my way towards the bedroom door. I opened it only to be greeted with Henry who stood at the door as if he was guarding it.
"Your Majesty!" He said with a gasp as if he was shocked to see me.
"Hi," I answered as I continued forward following the sound of the screams.
"I do not think that is a good idea for you!" Henry started as he followed behind me, "I think it'll be best if you'd return to your room and get a little bit more sleep,"
"I'm fine! What's that noise? Why is there screaming?"
Henry sighed, "It is coming from the dungeon where King Noah punishes rouges,"
I kept walking as I made my way towards the dungeon before stopping directly in front of the huge doors. I sighed heavily and ignored the warning look Henry gave me before pushing the door open. There were cells filled with men. They stared at me in fear while some stared at me with hatred. Towards the end of the dungeon stood Noah. He wore jeans and no shirt and his back was turned to me. I could see a man at his knees covered in blood while two more men — whom I had never seen before — stood on each side of the man holding what looked to be an axe.
"Why did you do it?" He growled.
"You should've never became king! You should've stepped down!" The man covered in blood shot back.
Noah laughed loudly, "Is that so?"
"You are nothing!" He exclaimed, "You should've left! The King hated you..."
"I am your King!" Noah's voice boomed causing me to flench a bit.
"You will never be my King! A King is supposed to protect his people instead you banished me making me a rogue!"
"You disrespected me!" Noah exclaimed, "You decided to sneak your way into the palace to attempt to steal whatever your little hands could take! You're lucky I didn't kill you then!"
"You are evil! The King never wanted you nor did he want you to be King! You are not one of us! You are a Lycan! To make matters even worse, you bring that woman here and marry her!"
Noah laughed, "Are you done? You come here with your army of rogues and think that you would kill me? You are disrespectful and you always have been! I should've gotten rid of you the moment that you trespassed but instead I gave you the benefit of the doubt and let you live! You come back with an army to back you up thinking that you could kill me only for your plan to fail and now you and your army are all locked up! You didn't think this plan through?" He grabbed the man by his head forcing him to look up.
"I stand by what I said!" The man mumbled.
Noah nodded before addressing everyone in room while still staring at the man, "I want you to know what happens when you cross me! I deserve respect for as long as I rule!"
"You're a scum!" The man exclaimed, "As was your Mother!"
Noah turned towards the man before snapping his neck causing me to gasp. I watched as the man's body hit the floor with a thump. Noah walked over and stomped on his head one time causing blood to gush out. I covered my mouth and backed up. The two guards picked up the body and began moving it elsewhere. Noah turned around and laid eyes on me. I watched as he walked forward with dark eyes and drops of blood on his naked chest. He stopped directly in front of me.
"Get out!" He growled.
I stared at him quietly for a bit before whispering, "You don't have to tell me twice!"
I quickly opened the door to the dungeon and ran out of there as if my life depended on it.
It did!
I ran down the hallways and towards my room before slamming the door shut and locking it. I climbed back into the bed and laid there as Noah snapping the man's neck replayed through my head. I released the breathe that I didn't realize I was holding before turning over on my side in an attempt to fall asleep again.
"I have to get out of here," I whispered to myself, "Dad, if you're watching me... please show me a sign,"
I sighed heavily as my eyes slowly dropped and I fell into a deep slumber.
