It was so comforting being home. And it was even more comforting to realize that I’d truly started to see Star Garnet as my new home. Yes, Nikolai and I made visits to Black Opal as we needed. And yes, I still traveled down there for my Alpha training. But I didn’t much see that pack house as the place where I was supposed to spend the rest of my life now. Which made it all that much more devastating when we came home to see the Alpha suite and both mine and Nikolai’s offices trashed.
