CHAPTER XXI - HOLIDAY, HOORAY!

I woke up when I heard some noise somewhere. I felt dizzy when I sat at the edge of my bed. I saw my older brother and Haji playing around like kids. I went to the bathroom to brush my teeth.

I screamed when I saw Kai peeing at the toilet. He looked at me while he had finished peeing. He washed his hands with soap and I ran away.

“What happened?” my older brother was panicking. They saw Kai went out of the bathroom and I was nervous at his presence. It was my first time to see him like that. I felt my face burning with embarrassment.

Brother Seravy and Haji laughed when they realized that I was embarrassed because of Kai. My older brother was pointing at him and said, “Did she saw it?”

I covered my face to hid my the blush on my cheeks while their laughs were echoing in my ears. I felt the presence of Kai walking near me and I saw him sat beside me.

“I was not naked or anything,” he said seriously. He put his hand on my head and he added, “I wanted to make it clear that she just saw my back.”

My brother and Haji were still laughing with enjoyment. They teased him like kids.

“How did you feel when she saw you peeing?” my brother asked. I covered his mouth and I was holding his neck on my other arm. He tried to stop me but I did not.

“Amusing,” Kai responded. I realized that my brother went free to my grip. My heart raced crazily and I could not move. Amusing? What was he saying about?

My brother stopped laughing when he looked at Kai’s face. There was a bruise beside his left eye and I shivered. I remembered what happened last night on how he slightly squeezed my breast and the real kiss. I looked away that made me feel nervous. What if he remembered it? I shook my head to flush away my thought.

“What happened to your eye?” Haji was puzzled, looking at Kai’s face.

“May be, I slipped somewher,” he answered seriously. My brother and Haji looked at each other. They were thinking something that made me jitter.

“I know it!” Haji exclaimed. “May be, you slipped at the floor and your face landed at the edge of this table.” he proudly said.

“No, wait. It was impossible. It seemed like he was punched or something.” My brother made my sweats burst.

“Yes. I guess you’re right.” Haji put his fingers on his chin and it meant that he was thinking deeply on Kai’s bruise. “Who carried us in our bed?” he added while looking at me and Kai. I wish that he could not remember it. I gulped when he pointed his finger on me. He came near and he roamed around me.

“I just helped you,” I answered without trembling hands.

“Yes, actually, we helped you and brother – in – law.” Kai supported my statement. “I just slipped because brother – in – law was childish and he accidentally punched me and he tried to kiss me.”

My brother’s jaw dropped. “No! I was not like that.” He defended himself.

“You whispered a name that I could not remember.” Kai came near to my brother. “You accidentally did this and I forgive you since you’re my brother – in – law.” He sat on his bed and put out his clothes. It meant that he remembered it. My heart began to beat rapidly again.

“Brother Seravy, I did not know that you were like a kissing monster.” Haji teased him. I just laughed at them while they were running around like kids.

“Are you a gay?” Haji asked frankly. My brother gritted his teeth.

“No,” he responded quickly. I went to the table and I cleaned it.

“Let me buy foods today!” my older brother cheerfully said. He was energetic this day and I felt that this sounded like a bad luck. He would do something to pissed me more.

He prepared the table while I was taking a bath. I touched my lips and I reminisced how Kai’s lips tasted on my lips. I felt like it was happening again so, I shook my head. He should not remember it but I think, he knew it. He made a cover for his bruise. I actually punched him last night. It made me feel sad when I realized that I hurt him.

I went to a*****e near the resort and bought an ice pack. I put some ice in it when I returned to our room.

“Accept this.” I gave it to Kai and I frowned. He stopped reading a magazine and he looked at me. I looked away and I gave it to him.

“Aren’t you going to take care of it?” My brother asked teasing me again with his smile. Haji’s smile went playfully while he was looking at me. I bit my lips and I sat beside Kai leaving a space between us.

“C’mon,” I whispered. I looked at the bruised part of his face and put the ice pack on it. “Are you hurt?” I asked without showing a guilt.

“Sae, we’ll just buy drinks out there,” my brother said with a smile. He pushed Haji and they chuckled. I sighed slowly while I was stopping my heart to pound.

“I think that your brother is really testing us,” he began.

“May be.”

He stopped me from patting the ice pack on his face. “I think that you should say something to me. Who did this? It ruined my looks,” he said calmly. I looked away at him and I bit my lips.

“I’m sorry,” I sincerely said, looking accidentally at his eyes.

“Tell me, what happened?” he asked seriously. I’m dead. What would I answer? He touched my chin and he leaned closer at me.

“What are you doing?” I wondered. I saw his adams apple going up and down at once. I think that he would kiss me but I was stunned at my place.

“Did I do it?” His brows met.

“What?” I moved a little at my back when he leaned closer to me.

“Did I kiss you?” he added. My heart was beating fast and I held my breath. “Is it true?”

“No. You didn’t kiss me.” I lied.

“Who’s that girl I kissed?” he asked with a smirk. “Don’t tell me, it was your brother? So, let me prove it.”

I pushed him before he kiss me but he was too strong. He held my shoulders and my back landed on the couch. He was on top of me, looking at my lips.

“Stop it! You’re just making fun of me.” I pushed his chest but he did not go away. “What do you want? I said that it was not me.” I snorted.

“Are you sure?” he asked while he bit his lower lip.

“Ye – “ my word was cut because he gave me a kiss. I held my breath and I tried pressing my lips together. He stopped kissing me and he smiled genuinely.

“So, it was really you.” He got the magazine and ignored me from being annoyed.

It was my third kiss from him. He was crazy!

But I remembered his genuine smile. It was my first time to see him like that. When would you say what you were feeling? It was making me curious about you. Are you really that annoying monster? What were you hiding?

I brushed my lips thrice with my hands. I would show him how I was annoyed at that kiss. I crossed my arms and I looked at him.

“I will not let you do it again,” I confidently said.

He put down the magazine and he leaned close to my face. I put my finger on his lips and I pushed him away from me.

“Stop teasing me,” I said angrily. I stood up but he grabbed my waist that made me sat on his lap with my right arm on his chest. I heard the click of the doorknob and I stood up quickly.

“Yey! We’re going at the house today!” my brother happily said while he put the drinks on the table.

“Let’s eat!” Haji sat on the chair and he looked at the foods.

We fixed our things and went at home. Haji made a quick good-bye as he was called by his mother. I saw Kai sat on the couch, sighing deeply and it made me conclude that he was tired.

“Hello,” My older brother answered his cellphone. “Yes, I’m going back there. Bye.”

“Who was it?” I asked calmly as he was seriously looking at the window. He came to Kai and he sighed deeply.

“Please, take care of my sister,” he asked him with a serious face. What was he saying? It was uncanny.

“Yes, of course,” Kai calmly answered while he made a genuine smile.

“Good.” My brother grinned. He looked at me and he added, “Take care of yourself.” He patted my shoulder once.

“Where are you going?” I asked with doubt.

“I’m going back to Europe. Kind of business things.” He packed his things and said, “Good bye! Take care of her or else you’ll lose her in the end.”

Kai smiled at him but it disappeared when he took a look at me. It seemed like he would be mean to me and he would say hurtful words again.

“Do you think that I’ll take care of you?” he seriously said at my face. “Let me think of it. This was just a show and nothing more.”

He made me hurt again as usual. He came back to his old self and I think he would not have hope for changing himself. There was no need of helping him to express himself. But, it was good to hear that my brother went to Europe for business talks. I should rest for the whole evening without thinking bad.
