Today's the day. I have lived my entire life confided in this small town yet I know someday I would be forced to go beyond, and that day is now. It's kinda scary going into a new adventure alone but I have no choice. All of my friends enrolled in Bree University while I was forced to go to this university I have never heard of in my life, a campus not far from the city center but still feels secluded. My alarm rang and I half-consciously grabbed my phone to hit snooze, I lay in bed wondering how I should go on with my day. After the second ring, I got up and dressed up for school. It is my first day so I put on a little effort to make myself presentable. I never really cared about my looks, I usually go to our local high school with my hair uncombed and I go just by. Today, somehow, I felt the need to look more presentable. After spending an absurd amount of time getting ready, I went out and waited for the bus and arrived on campus late. As I was walking up the flight of stairs, I could already hear the traditional welcome speech from the university head and the student cheering. To be honest, I was not excited at all although I had high hopes that this year would be great. Since I arrived late, I stood in front of the gymnasium navigating the place and looking for spots where I could sit. "Hi I'm Shane, are you also new here?" I looked back and saw a sweet girl smiling. "Uh-hi, yeah I'm new and late so I don't know where to go" I replied. "I'm taking finance and you?" "Oh wow really! Me too!" This day is turning out great, we were talking about how we felt as new students in the university as we made our way to an empty spot in the bleachers. We managed to settle ourselves and spent the whole morning listening to all the freshmen orientation stuff. Finally, it ended and we were given time to explore around and familiarize ourselves with the campus we would be spending most of our years with. Shane and I, feeling hungry from all the listening, went out for a lunch. It was nice talking to her although her personality was way different from all my friends back home. We were loud, always laughing, and the type of group people on the street would stare at. Shane, on the other hand, was sophisticated and sweet but she talks a lot too. I think it would be nice to be involved with different personalities anyways. After filling up our stomachs, we made our way back and now entered our classrooms where we were able to meet all of our classmates and instructors. Since most of us are new on campus, an introduction was necessary thus we took turns introducing ourselves and getting to know each other. I observed that we only had a couple of male classmates which was a new experience, I never thought the finance course would be a female-dominated classroom. When my turn was finished, I sat and a girl from behind tapped my shoulder, "Hey you're pretty" I paused for a while because it was so random. After realizing she was still waiting for a response I told her she looked great too. Days passed and I was getting comfortable with the new set-up. I also made more new friends- I became part of a 5 group of girlfriends. I would say that this group was what made me more comfortable since I also belong to a group of girlfriends in our town. The day for campus organization formation also came to date and student leaders had prepared a forum to present their plans. Our class went early to the gymnasium and was sitting on the frontmost part where we were exposed to the student candidates running for the position. I was not paying attention to what was happening or who was talking, all I had in my was the lunch we would have that day. Shane raised her hand and asked a question so suddenly all eyes were in our direction, I dumbfoundingly looked around and that was the first time a saw the guy on the stage. He was skinny and tall, his eyes looking right at me, and smirked. I know these were the type of famous guys who every girl would swoon just by looking at him, thus I broke the eye contact.
