Fake Friends and Mates

Faith POV So normal day for me and my friends sitting in the cafeteria during lunch, at our regular table off to the side of the room. We are the popular kids but we don’t get picked on either. Even though none of us have a boyfriend our conversation still end up being about boys. In my little group of friends there is me, Faith Terrell, the quiet one until someone messes with me. Then we have Jewel Stone, the feisty one. Last but not least Lexie Moon she is the goofy one that likes to joke around a lot. But together we balance each other out. We have a few more people that come around from time to time but I don’t consider them as friends. I have a hard time accepting people in my life.  We all go to Clearwater High School and we are in our senior year. At Clearwater, most of the guys look like male supermodels, and you ask why well because we are werewolves. “You know your birthday is Saturday, right? You ready for the party, first shift, and finding a mate? Jewels is looking at me when she says this and being that my birthday is Saturday I know she is referring to me.  “Well I really don’t have a choice in the matter do I, but let’s not forget its “our” birthday party. I say to Jewels. Thursday is Lexie birthday, Friday is Jewels birthday and Saturday is my birthday. “I’m so excited thinking about the party.” We are having our annual birthday bash together Saturday and we all are turning 18th. “Yayy” When werewolves turn 18th they are able to identify their mates and female wolves have their first shift.  “Did you guys decide on a birthday outfit, yet?” I have to ask them because they will wait until the last minute to find something. “No, I haven’t.” They both say at the same time. And I burst out laughing because I knew they hadn’t.  “Well we can do that Thursday night at the sleepover. Since Thursday will be our last day at school for the week.” “Yes, I am excited about not having school for the rest of the week,” Lexie all but yells out of excitement.  Thursday will be the start to our three day sleepover. The birthday party will be Saturday at the Alpha’s mansion. They make it a big deal since my father is the current Alpha’s Beta. The current Alpha is Christopher, he is like a second father to me and his mate, our Luna, Ariel is my godmother. My father, Elijah is the pack Beta and his mate, my mother, Hazel. My mother is also the Beta female. Our families are real close. I use to be real close to the Alpha’s son when we were younger, but once he grew up and got muscles that was over. The Alpha’s son is the soon to be Alpha Dominic Ford. I have to admit since we have gotten older I find myself drooling over him at times, but he likes preppy cheerleader type off girls. So yeah way out of my lead. Pulling myself out of my own head, “what time will you both be at my house tomorrow?”  “After school, I’m going to pack my car that morning and drive straight there,” Lexie says. “Ugh I have to do something after school for my parents then I will be there before dinner,” Jewels says while smiling because we love food. “Okay well its time for me to go to my class. I will see you guys after the last bell,” I say while walking backwards until I bump into someone hard chest. Before I can walk away, “watch where you are going,” Dominic tells me with a smirk on his face. To avoid any conflict with him, “Yes Alpha,” I reply with sarcastism dripping. Turning to try and walk out again I was stopped again by one of his little sluts, Belle Banks. She has made it her mission to be the next Luna of our pack. Which will never happen but she can dream. “Why are you talking to a nobody, babe?” the bimboo Dominic. He doesn’t reply to her question just keep his eyes directed at me. I chuckle to myself while shaking my head, “ a nobody, the Beta’s daughter,” not even bothering explaining anything to her. I walk away and head to my class.  I make it to my class before the bell rings. I find my seat in the back of the classroom. This is my last day in this class. In walks someone that does not belong in this class and sits in the desk right beside me. I roll my eyes, “why are you in my class? I apologized to you for bumping into you. What else can I do for you Dominic? I slightly raised for my voice so but only for him to hear me. Already irritated with the fact that he is in front of me.' I’m an Alpha, I can do and go where ever I want to go. Second I do not want anything from you,” he states the last part all of matter of a fact. Which shuts me up quick. I turn to play attention to the teacher and the clock. Counting down the minutes that I am out of this class. Math is normally my favorite class why did he have to ruin my last day. “Pssh…….tap tap….pssh” “Omg what the hell do you want?” I turn to him and glare at him. “Your friend Jewels is she single?” he ask me. I open my mouth to speak but forgot what I was going say. Why do I feel a little jealous that he is asking about Jewels? “Yes she is single,” I quickly answer his question and turn my attention back on the teacher, Mr. Abbett. My mind is far from what he is talking about. I don’t understand my reaction to someone I want nothing to do with and who is a playboy. I don’t know what is happening to me. The bell finally goes off. Finally I quickly gather my stuff and run out the classroom before Dominic or anybody can stop me.
