When our jet lands, i realise i have really missed my county, the weather so refreshing, everything is new and I can't help but smile, since i boarded my family's private jet, there are only a few people who know about my coming, it's on Friday and in as much as I tired convincing Ruby to change the wedding date, she refused saying the date had already been set and everyone knew about it, so i and no otherwise than to travel today.
"Hey baby?" My say as she hugs me so tight that i feel like I'm suffocating
"Mom, I can't breathe" i say teasingly and she smiles realising me from her hug
"Uuh sorry baby, i just missed you that why, how's you, how was your flight? How was the weather back in California, it's been almost three years since I last saw you, damn you've grown into such a young great and beautiful lady" mum says blabbering and i can't help but chuckle
"Mom one question at a time?"
"Oh sorry baby" she says while laughing and i can't help but smile as I go ahead to hug my sister, she has really grown and she's more beautiful than when I last saw her
"Hey honey, you've grown into such a pretty young lady" i whisper in her ears and she only smiles and kisses my forehead, God! I had really missed her.
"So do you, what have you been feeding back in America" she half shouts and i can't help but just smile
"A lot of things but all thanks to this young man here, he's a great cook, you should taste his food" i say while patting Barry on his back and he just smiles
"Hey Barry? How are you?" Mom asks him and he just smiles back while extending his hands to greet my mom who smiles back at him
"I'm good Mrs Morton"he says
"No just call me Becky everyone calls me that.
Of all the people present,Melanie is the only one who still haven't met my family and vice versa so i try to do the introductions, she's been a great friend of mine.
"Mom, meet Melanie, my best friend, my flatmate and Barry's girlfriend, Melanie meet my family, this is my mom, Mrs Morton you can call her Becky and my sweet sister Eileen Morton" i say
"It's nice to finally meeting you Mrs Becky, Brianna has been speaking a lot about you, you sure a sweet woman in person"
"Nice to meet you too honey, thanks for keeping my daughter company and being her best friend all those years"
"It's nothing mom, she's been a great friend to me too, i love her, she knows that" Melanie says and mom only nods with a smile. She goes ahead to hug Eileen and I'm glad the two get along well with each other, and the way my sister sucks at making friends, i can see the two getting along well
"And here I thought Barry is my sister's fiancee, you guys really know how to play your cards well" Eileen says when we're back in the house. It's still the same although there are a lot of things that have changed, the room's walls have been painted baby pink and i love the theme, my bed is new and i guess that's mom's work. She knows my taste.
"Hahaha really Sis?" I ask her and she smiles
"Yes but I'm glad you back, God knows how much I missed you"
"I missed you too sis that's why I'm back"
"I know you back because of Ruby's wedding don't lie to me"
"Oh okay I'm sorry sis but was planning on visiting you guys soon so Ruby's wedding is nuts a catalyst" i say winking at her
"Okay whatever, so Barry why don't you make us some lunch, I've been wanting to taste your food for long but now that you're here i guess I'll use that chance" Eileen says and i gasp loudly
"Really Sis, we just landed let him rest a bit"
"Ooh don't worry Brianna i love cooking by the way and I'm not that tired I'll just make a simple lunch" Barry says and actually i feel for him, we have just landed not a few hours ago and he wants to cook
"Brianna let Barry do the cooking, after all it's his passion" Melanie chips in and i can't help but laugh just then the door bell rings.
"I'll get that" i say as stand up immediately. I had called Ruby earlier as told her I was finally home she said she's driving to our place,so i guess it's her and true to my words, Ruby is standing at the door when I open it, the first thing she does is run up to where I am and hugs me
"Wooah wooah, you gonna suffocate me" i complain as i laugh and she just chooses to ignore
"That's for missing you b***h, God! I missed you for real"
" I missed you too, and look at you! All plump and glowing what have you been feeding on?"
"Haha nothing just enjoying life, i might be pregnant who knows despite my wedding is due tomorrow so what do you expect?"
"Okay okay i heard you and i totally understand now welcome in, mom just left to do some shopping" i say as i usher her in
"So Ruby this is Barry and Melanie my best friend" i say while introducing them
"You're my best friend haha, anyway don't mind me, thanks for taking care of my best friend back there, i really appreciate, nice to meet both of you"
"It's nothing she's my friend too and it's nice finally meeting you too Ruby, Brianna has been speaking non stop about you, i guess that personality is real, you and i can make such a good group" Melanie says and winks at her and both laugh at her statement.
"Okay girls i can't believe we are all here, and tomorrow is your grand day, congratulations by the way, I'm so jealous right now" i say as we're seated in the living room making stories, Eileen joined Barry in the kitchen,her obsession with making different dishes pushed her into the kitchen and we just had to let her be, she said she wanted to know how to cook well.
"You should get your own man now, you growing old" Ruby says and i can't help but laugh at her statement
"Really I'm just twenty five"
"Yeah quite a good age to get married" Melanie chips in
"Relax guys, i get it, y'all want me to get married but where do I get a man right now?"
"Bruce is here, he is been waiting for you to come back and apologize i guess it's the right time to mend things between you two" Ruby says and i furrow my eyebrows at her i give her a glare which she ignores
"Bruce loves you Brianna,he still loves you and that's for a fact, i just want you guys back together, forget the past and forgive him"
"You and i both know why I had to leave the country earlier than i had intended to, he cheated on me, he f*****g cheated on me"
"Yes i know that part Brianna which is why in suggesting you two forgive each other and get back together"
"What if it was Russell that cheated on you would you have forgiven him?" I also oblivious of her answer
"Of course just because I love him, i could have given him a chance to explain everything to me, who knows what if Bailey was trying to get back at you, she as snitch b***h by the way I hate her" Ruby says and it finally hits me that all that while she has never called to apologize but that doesn't give me the right to forgive Bruce, he has to work hard on trying to get me back
"That's you, as for me I already moved on"
"You didn't honey, Barry is not your boyfriend but Melanie's i know you don't love him that way so get over yourself lower your ego and let Bruce in your life again"
"By the way Ruby is right, you should give him a second chance, you've had six years to get over what happened, you and i both know that you love Bruce and he kind of makes you happy, so let him be your happiness I'm your friend and i have been staying with you for six years,you've not been a happy soul and it's so clear Bruce makes you happy so go for your happiness, as your friends we will be here to support you, that's what best fiends do, Ruby I'm i right" Melanie says and i realise how much their talk makes sense but I won't go after him after all he's the one that wronged me
"Of course, we will be here for her as we've always been"
"Thanks for your advice friends, I'll think about it" i say and they both hug me, God knows how much these two means so much to me, I'll do anything for them
